What just happened? HD password suddenly doesn't work...

Alright this is a tricky one. W520 w/ Intel SSD.
I've got a Supervisor (SPV) password set for my BIOS as well as a HD password set.
I don't think I had a Power-on password set but I'm not sure.
No problems, my password has always worked.
I'm working and I have my laptop plugged into my LAN via Ethernet and I shut down. I always use wireless but was working with my router settings so had it plugged in via Ethernet this time.
When I start up, it started trying to boot from LAN, I see the Intel Boot manager start up (screen saying Press Ctrl + S to change options), and of course there is nothing on my LAN to PXE boot from so it proceeds after failing.
Then it asks for my Supervisor password, I enter it, works, asks for my HD password, I enter it, doesn't work. I try again, doesn't work. Try a third time, locks me out. I restart the machine.
The next time it asks for my HD password first rather than my Supervisor password, which doesn't work again. I reboot again.
Third time through this charade and for some reason the HD password works now but only to get me into the BIOS -- meaning I've pressed F1 and it asks for my password and lets me into the BIOS settings.
From here I try to remove the User password on the hard drive but it does not accept the password -- the same password I just entered and it accepted.
Now I'm not fat fingering or anything, the password is simple and I'm making sure I'm typing it in exactly correct.
So somehow powering off and powering on with my Ethernet cable connected has majorly screwed up my passwords in the BIOS. I think it was set to re-order boot devices if Wake-on-LAN was enabled or something, but something in that process must have screwed up my BIOS config. I don't know what to do. I don't understand what the heck is happening here. Password works then all of a sudden doesn't?

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work? I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe. This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot. But I know both were exactly the same. But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

Try that, if the problem is new since you upgraded to Mavericks.

IPhone 5C password suddenly doesn't work

My IPhone 5C password suddenly quite working the other day. I was successfully using the password and for some reason it quit taking it.
I tried to do a backup to my computer with I Tunes, but it won't complete without the password.
I've seen some communications regarding this issue with the IPhone 6, but couldnt' find anything on the IPhone 5.
Not sure if it's the same issue?
Should I try to setup an ICloud account if I haven't done that before?
At this point I just want to try to salvage as much information as I can before restoring it.

I understand from a support note that if I keep trying my password/username combination, my BB will eventually delete all data!
I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.

I have been trying for hours to extend my Extreme Gen 5 network with an Express Gen 2. But no matter what I do or try, it doesn't work. What does happen is my internet gets blocked somehow when the Express is online and looks like it's set up perfect and 'green' - but no internet connection for anything even though the Extreme is green and the modem is good. Once I disconnect the Express, everything is good again.
I've tried LAN, WAN, though a switch, direct connect, Extreme set to Extend the network, the Express set to be an extension. Most of the time I get an error trying to update the Express. But when it seems to be set up perfect, the entire house can't get to the internet. Just when it looks right, it is so wrong.
If anyone can give me exact steps (e.g., "...from the Base Station menu, select the Restore Default Setting option" vice "...just restore the defaults..."), I would greatly appreciate it. I'm left to the conclusion that the Express is faulty. I've been using Airport Utility 6.2 from Mountain Lion on one computer and Airport Utility 5.6.1 from Snow Leopard on another computer (the latter give more control while the former just want you to 'forget' the Express).

I finally got it working. I was trying to set it up ethernet. My biggest mistake was when the new Express came on, I did not select 'Continue' - I went straight to manual thinking that I would get the most setup options in manual mode. So everything I initially tried always resulted in 'wireless'. Even when I would update or restore default settings, the Express would not completely restart. Or sometimes I would get an error. So most of the time I had to unplug it. So when it came back up, none of my changes were retained. But there were a lot of times when everything was green and appeared to be fine. But anytime the ethernet cable was plugged in, no more internet.
So here's the weird part. When I finally tried 'continue' (vice manual), I would get 4 options. One would be 'ethernet' extended. So I would select it, it gave me green lights, all looked good, and still the same problem. This is when I got frustrated. I thought I had exhausted all possible combinations.
But somehow when trying continue again after another restore, I only got 3 options. One was the same ethernet extended option (can't remember what the missing 4th one was). And this time it worked - it gave me the big green circle with the checkmark saying it was successful. I don't know what I did different, but I know now that it won't work if 4 options come up to choose from. It will work if only 3 options come up. And success if only verified by the big checkmark. Had anyone anywhere said the checkmark declaring success is validation, then maybe I wouldn't have gone down so many rabbit holes thinking it should have been successful.
As for which Airport Utility I prefer, 6.2 looks nice, but it would just ignore the Express and would want me to 'forget' it and would not let me edit it. Airport Utility 5.6.1 was the one that I ended up using the most and finally had success with. It still strikes me as odd that there is no manually way to pick ethernet, it can only be choosen following a 'restore defaults', and only from the 3-option list (the 4-option list had the same ethernet choice, but it no worky).

- configured while connect directly to the Extreme, but now on a switch (16-port hub)
Using Airport 5.6.1
1) Restore Defaults from Base Station menu
2) Following restart, Select Continue
3) Of the 3 option presented, select 'ethernet.... extend network...'
- if 4 options are present, may not work
4) Wait for the green circle with the big white checkmark.
5) Connected Express to the switch where a cable went to other end of house - works.
Dead-zone went from 2mbps to 24mbps.
I probably spent 4 hours chasing my tail in anger. The correct way took about 5 minutes total.

OK. Here is what just went down when I went into a corporate AT&T Store:
1. I told the sales guy that I just purchased a 3G iPhone on June 3rd online, and would like to pay the 10% restocking fee and get a new 3GS.
2. He said that would be fine and started messing on the computer and said he took the phone off my account and opted me back out of my 2 year contract I renewed.
3. The manager then came over and said they cannot issue refunds from online purchases and I need to mail it back to AT&T.
4. The sales guy then let me pre-order the iPhone 32GB 3GS iphone for $299 and said he had to keep my 3G iphone until I pick up my 3GS next friday, unless I wanted to come by sooner and "tell them how to return it to AT&T".
5. He gave me my sim card out of my phone so I could use it on a backup phone I have at home.
6. Now I am home, and AT&T website is telling me I am eligible for an upgrade (although I just upgraded at the store).
Am I officially upgraded? If I order one online get I get the one next friday in the store AND in the mail and have 2, activate 1, and sell the other one on the side? If someone has any idea what just happened please let me know.

You need to put the headset into pairing mode. The phone should then see it even though you have done the forget this device.

Home page Hero Orbit slider suddenly doesn't work

We're developing this site http://scholzandbarclay.businesscatalyst.com based on the http://uguru-interior-design-us-feb52014.businesscatalyst.com template. After making a few minor changes late yesterday, the hero orbit slider suddenly doesn't work. All changes made were rolled back to working version, yet the hero still doesn't work.
I have recopied all the page code from the uguru-interior-design template into the scholzandbarclay site, which also did not work. All other code, scripts, styles have been checked. Can't find anything. However, when the pages render there is a difference (see screen captures)
in this one, the ul has no orbit
in this one, the script has added the orbit code.
Again, all scripts, code, styles have been checked.
What am I missing?

No, they can't just 'turn it off'. They can not control whether it will power on or not.
Since it's a corporate device. Take it in and have your help desk/IT department look at it.

IChat video suddenly doesn't work...

My fiancee and I have been using iChat for the last few years - the video and audio have always worked fine. She is in the USA and I'm in England until we get married in November. Last night, when I got home from work, it suddenly doesn't work. I'm on a MacBook running 10.4.11 and use AIM on iChat and she is on AIM on a Windows Vista laptop. I have a different Error code in my Log.
You have Error 8
This is a bit of general coverall error code.
It means that it cannot make a Connection (it has excluded other items such as Internet Speed (Error 22) and issues over routing (error 7) and a "missing" camera)
One cause is when you set up Port Forwarding in your router for iChat and then the computer's IP Changes
This means the router is "pointing" the ports to one IP and the computer has another.
You have the three titles in ther Log (which I have now spaced out)
Normally there is more info in these sections.
The rest of the Log is not useful at this stage (I can't see that it mentions any iChat add-on)
Check the IP in use in System Preference > Network.
Compare this with any IP that is listed for Port Forwarding in the router.
Ideally the router should be using UPnP to open the ports (it lets your do Screen Sharing in iChat)
The router should not be doing Ping Blocking or have any DoS or SPI Security Filters

Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.

Once downloaded please follow this KB article to use the Tool.

Not sure what just happened...everything just slowed/choppy in the middle of my session

I was working on a project and all of a sudden everything with in PS got noteably slow and choppy. This first happened while using the selection tool (polygonal lasso), which was lagging behind and making late clicks. I finished my selection and noticed the cursor in general was slow choppy still. I saved my work, shutdown PS, then reboot my computer. I reopen my project, the cursor lag seemed to be gone but the brush tool was not working correctly. Instead of making smooth burst of color with one click (gradient like), it now looks like 256 4 bit (old nintendo style) bursts. Or you could say it looks like multiple rings getting smaller and darker, like counting the rings of a tree trunk.
This happens instantly after opening a file of any type and size. I work with CMYK and 300dpi and while working on a page, this just happened out of nowhere.
I have an ASUS G74SX, i7 CPU, GeForce 560M w/2 gig RAM, 8 gig of SDRAM, 3 each SSD 300gigs (this is basically a 6 month old gaming laptop and has been working fine with PS until now). I have my PS scratch disk set to my F drive for all art and there is nothing more than 2 gigs of space being used right now. My RAM used in PS prefs was maxed at 5205k as suggested by the program.
I would post a picture but this forum will not allow a big enough image to show exactly what I am describing.
PS CS6 is fully up to date as well as all drivers for my GPU and the rest of my laptop.

I personally like to Crop, and then use PNG for my screen-caps. If I need more images, say to show other Palettes, etc., then I do one each for those shots.
We see a lot of full-screen caps posted, where aggressive JPEG is used, and nothing can be read. That is especially true with images, like Adobe Encore's Flow-chart, where there is a lot of text and linking being shown.
Just my personal preferences.
