What Keynote slide size should I set up for a 60" screen?

I'm trying to find out what slide size I should setup in Keynote, for a presentation which will be played on four 60" flat screen TV's for a conference.

I used to create images in Photoshop in 1024x768 then drag them to Keynote which was set up as 1024x768px size slides. Now, with 6.1, I don't see a way to customize my slides in pixel format. Am I missing something?

The 6.1 version of KN does NOT support a pixel size image
I have to be blunt; this is nonsense. The unit of measurement in Keynote is pixels, the final product is a file that calculates pixels, and what can be seen on screen is pixels.
Did you know that point is a measurement of the height of a letter press type, nothing to do with graphic shapes? Photoshop uses point size so that type can be placed in proportion correctly.
In Keynote, this is all easily confirmed;
A 1 Point screen size is interpreted as requiring 1.333 pixels (this is an agreed international standard)
type in the value 800 x 800 in the slide size window in Keynote, export to TIFF and an exact 800 x 800 pixel image is created.
Therefore if Keynote measured in points, the image would export as 600 x 600 pixels.
You can if you wish use points in Photoshop, just remember to recalculate the values by 1.333
I repeat again, if you compose your images in Photoshop, input pixels and set to dpi to 72 and all images will import full screen and centered.

NF980 + SLI What Bios settings should be set at for PCIE.

I currently purchased back in april the 955 BE am3 chip from AMD. I paired that with 4 gig's of mushikin 1600 ddr3 ram with a latency of 7-7-6-18. I have installed 2 EVGA Geforce 9800 gtx+ SSC editions. Now here my issue, I currently play a brand new MMO called Aion. This board got released right as Aion came out, but at the time I was currently using a m4a79T deluxe, but obviously only utilizing one video card. Aion flew at between 120-130 fps. Now I purchased this board (NF980-65) hooked up everything I did above, again pairing it with Vista 64. I am now utilizing an SLI setup. However on this board my ram is showing much much lower then what it should be. I've read through the forums and will be correcting the ram issue tonight. But now I am curious what the Bios settings should be for PCIE because my frames per second NOW using two cards, has dropped down to , get ready for this 20-50 fps. All drivers are current, and up to date. Everything except the ram is proper and in order. I am wondering if I need to manipulate the Bios for PCIE or something, or what they should be at exactly so that I can utilize this system to its fullest potential. These cards are Nvidia, this board is Nvidia, yet 1 card ran better on a crossfire only board. Please help.

Another tip:
Apply from Nvidia CP:
Turn off Vertical sync
And set SLI Performance mode to: "Force alternate frame rendering 2"
Apply and re-test.
The game does not have an SLI profile. However, I should have mentioned, I uninstalled 1 card to kind of recreate my april environment. No change in FPS. Nivida control panel also has a feature to create your own profile if you will, or turn off sli, which I did too, without change. It has the last nvidia drivers of course, as its a brand new build, so it would require brand new drivers. I said that in the initial post. Again, all settings in OS and hardware are proper and in proper order. Thats why I asked about bios to begin with. You cannot setup a new computer with a fresh install and even see the nvidia control panel without installing it first which would be accompanied by the newest nvidia driver install package. Fyi. Also, I tried the additonal tip you mentioned in creation of a profile...Didn't change.
You seem to know alot about this,I'm honestly impressed. But are you certain my bios settings from the factory are completly correct for an SLI setup?

Connecting to an external display using the setting optimised for built in screen?

i am having trouble connecting to an external display with the lid closed and the settings is optimised for built in display.
it was working nicely until yesterday when i changed the resolution.
and now i cant take it to optimised for built in display, only if the lid is opened and i want it closed.
can i know how to return it to the setting (optimised for built in display) with the lid closed?

What should compatability setting be for 32 bit windows 7

Recently my computer guy switched me from Internet Explorer to Firefox. Since then I have been having problems with computer overheating. I believe it relates to Flash Player used for playing games on facebook. I have researched and found others have had problems with this also. In my researching I looked at Firefox properties and found that the Compatibilities settings show Windows xpService Pack 3 and am wondering why the setting is not Windows 7.
I have done further research and found the CPU is much higher percentage and my computer definitely overheats when I use the flash player playing the games. Could the properties setting be wrong and could it be the problem. If not any suggestion would be appreciated . Thank You

I'm sorry but I reset as advised and no difference ... NOTE HOWEVER... I did not get a 'finish' button to click after doing reset.. a pop up re signing up for newsletter with video came up instead... ??
Re the problem however... I went to facebook and started a game which uses flash player... AND my computer started heating up right away and within a span of 2-3 minutes the CPU shot up to 70% I played for 1/2 hr and cpu stayed up .. When I came off the game (and flash player) it went back down to 1% CPU. Note again this overheating of my computer only started when I came to firefox browser...from Internet Explorer.
question...Should the properties of firefox be changed from compatability xp service pack 3 TO Windows 7 ?? Thanks

What MacBook Pro size should I get?

I'm looking to get a MacBook Pro, I want to know what is the right size for me. I'm not a gamer or a movie downloader/viewer. I also won't download a lot of stuff if I get one. So the memory part for me isn't a problem or how fast it goes. I just want to know what size, I want a 15' but that's a little too much. The 13' has a right price but to me it's too small. Is the 13' to small? If the 13' is to small, then i guess I'll get the 15'. I just want to know which size to get. And I won't travel with it, I'll just leave it at home. I'm going to use my laptop until I finish college and medical school, I'm a sophomore in high school right now. Will the 13' last me a long time?

Only you can decide whether a 13-inch screen will be sufficient. What will suit someone else may or may not suit you. I'd suggest you visit an Apple Store or Apple dealer and spend some time with both systems so you can make a choice based on your own needs and preferences.
Note that you can attach a larger monitor to either system, so you won't be limited to the laptop's screen size when working at a desk; that might have an impact on your decision.

as there might be some platform specific accelerations or drivers dependent things.

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Whats the best size to make a video for the iTouch

I am making some films for the iTouch and when I export them from final cut they have black lines down each side, I can zoom in but then they are cropped at the top. I want to reframe everything to frame it perfectly in final cut
at the moment its High def dv pal,
should I be editing it widescreen?
how should I out put it (dont say iphone export that leaves the lines)
should I deinterlace it?

333 Trayloader -9.2.2-setting up for charitable donation, screen went black

I planned on giving my old 333 trayloader to a local organization that cares for abused and difficult kids.
It was working fine, I reformatted the HD and reinstalled OS 9.2.2, everything went fine.
I then went to install an old copy of the STARRY NIGHT Astronomy program left it loading and when I came back the screen was black, the on/off button on the display is orange.
I couldn't shut it down with the power button on the keyboard but when I hit the orange button on the display it shut down and the orange light went out.
I can turn it back on again with either the power button on the keyboard or the one on the display. When I hit either one the CAPS LOCK light blinks once very quickly, the machine chimes and the power light on the display immediately goes orange, the screen stays black.
I can only turn it off with the button on the display, I cannot turn it off with the button on the keyboard.
I tried zapping the PRAM, it only chimes the one time and then nothing else happens.
Was I lucky enough to be present when my video board went bad?
Appreciate any help, I'd like to see if I can get this going so these kids have something to use.

That's too bad. A video board problem now seems more likely. Since it's a 333 MHz iMac, and you mentioned having a few other iMac, so if they are slower tray-loader iMacs, you can take this 333 MHz board and replace one of the slower boards.
Or you can keep the board (and RAM) as spare parts. The CPU board is just the small +daughter card+ that connects to the motherboard, and where the RAM is installed.
You can actually test to see if the problem is the analog video board. Take the bottom panel off. You will see an internal cable that looks like a video cable; it is one of the cables you disconnected when you pulled out the internal chassis. Leave the other cable or cables connected; just disconnect the one that looks like a video cable.
Now try to start the iMac. If the problem is on the analog video board, your iMac will now start up normally. You have bypassed using the analog video board, so the startup self-test does not fail and the iMac starts up. Obviously, you won't see anything on the display, but by the sounds it makes, you should be able to tell that it is running normally. Note: You can shut down without video by waiting until it completes the startup, and then pressing the power button, followed by the Return key.
You can use it this way, by getting an adapter for the internal video connector (about $5 on eBay) and attaching a standard VGA cable and VGA display. If you want more info about doing so, please post back.

Why does the picture always zoom in when I try to set one for my lock screen or background?

When I chose a picture for my lock screen wallpaper it automatically zooms in on the picture. I cannot zoom out because it will not let me. I've tried different sites, reseting and I cant make any major adjustments without losing all my pictures, videos, ect. Is there something in the settings that needs to be changed or is this just a bug that Apple needs to work out?

On the Home screen, double-tap with three fingers to exit zoom.
Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility and make sure Zoom is turned Off.

CP5.5: Play CBT in Overhead Projector - What's a Good Slide Size?

We are in the process of converting all of our PPT training into CBTs using CP5.5.
I tried 1024 x 768 for the slide size but it was too large on the overhead projector.
What slide size should I aim for so that it fits on the screen?

I believe that an overhead projector typically assumes 1024x768. I use dual overheads at the church where I'm a media jockey and that's the size those use. I might imagine that's quite common as they were just installed last January.
However, Captivate tosses a wrinkle in the mix by adding another number of pixels to the height. This is done in order to make room for a playback control below the main part of the movie. Additionally, when you are using a browser to present the Captivate movie, you also need to account for the area reserved for the right scrollbar. Not only that, but again in a browser you also need to subtract pixels to account for the Menu bar, toolbars and Status bar.
How exactly are you presenting the Captivate?

What key fields should i set in DSO extracting data from 2LIS_02_ITM

i extract data from 2LIS_02_ITM into a DSO, i know the DSO isn't a must, becoz the 2LIS_02_ITM delta type is ABR, but i want to keep the info in change log.
so, what the key fields should i set in the dso? just ebeln and ebelp is enough?

If you extract ITM toa DSO you cannot maintain a log of every change....the data will come ....but when the data must be activated the reference of the ebelp ebeln will remain only a single record....if you want to maintain all the data you must create another field in extractor with you can difference all the changes for one single ebelp ebeln...

It's not 1/4"-20 (20 means 20 threads per inch (TPI)). It's finer than that.... it looks like it may be 1/4" 28 (which is another fairly common TPI used with 1/4" bolt diameters.) 1/4"-20 is the standard "coarse" thread and 1/4"-28 is the standard "fine" thread when dealing with 1/4" diamter threaded bolts.
I can't verify that though as I don't have a 1/4"-28 bolt to test for fit (but I am looking at my 600EX-RT now and can clearly see that it has finer threads.)
There is, however, a 1/4"-20 mounting hole on the mounting foot that comes with the flash. That's the plastic foot that has a "cold shoe" to attach the mount and allows it to stand on a table or floor. On the underside of that plastic foot, there is a 1/4"-20 mounting hole.
If you'd like to use the mounting hole on the lower left side of the flash body itself, then you may need to get a 1/4"-28 bolt and test it for fit.

Scale content when changing slide size

If I resize my keynote slide size to a different aspect ratio, is there a way to have it scale all the content?
I have hundreds of Illustrator files that I have imported into keynote (by drag/drop and it seems to rasterized the image). Making the slide size taller makes the background show through above and below my images. It would be nice if I didn't have to select and scale each individual image using the inspector. I realize the image will "stretch".
I did read someone's suggestion to batch the files in photoshop and resize them all, then re-import them all, but it would make a new presentation and I would lose all my notes and transitions.

This is an issue happening on your Mac, it is not a common problem, in fact Keynote has never crashed on my system since installing.
Try the following repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and      click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

I need recommendations in purchasing an external hard drive, to back up everything in my computer. What brand and Size?

I have a mid 2010 iMac, version 10.8.2, memory 4GB, 1TB sata disk.
Apple sent me an e-mail last year stating that my imac maybe affected to a recall. They said I have to back up my computer before sending it in to them. So its a great excuse to purchase an external hard drive.
But I am clueless. I would like to know what brand and size of memory is recommened for my imac and my needs. I will be mostly be backing up homevideos and alot of pictures, music, and some documents.
If someone could also explain about time machine? I guess its a whole separte thing from your media. I also would like to keep it affordable. I just purchased an external hard drive from www.macmall.com Seagate Backup Plus 1TB USB 3.0 Portable Drive - Black (STBU1000100).
But I don't know if that was a really great choice because for it to work with time machine I have to reformat certain things, and Im not sure if I would like to have that hassle.
I also wanted to know whats the difference between usb 3.0 and firewire. I read some forums saying that if you are to transfer videos you need to use firewire, and some agreed disagreed. Is that true?
Please help!?
I definitely would like to know what brands of external hard drives are highly recommended and good at price. The one I purchased is it any good?
