what kind of dock station will work with it?

    Hi John,
    Please find answer below
1 -- What are the specs of a laptop that can handle CS 6?
It depends on the application you will use and install. Video apps like Premiere pro, After effects have higher requirement as compare to InDesign, Illustrator etc. Please review the tech specs for each application. This link will help with the details :System requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 6
2 -- Can I sign up for Creative Cloud services for, say, a couple months and then suspend the service when I'm back to using my desktop? What's the pricing for that?
Yes, you can, You can find the pricing details creative.adobe.com/plans
3 -- Can I use Creative Cloud when I don't have access to Internet because internet service is sporadic or non-existent in northwoods?
No, you can't. You need internet atleast once to activate the software.
4 -- Can I easily transfer projects from CS 6 laptop to CS 5.5 on desktop?
It depends on file format. File format like JPEG, PSD, TIFF etc are universal and shall work perfectly fine between CS6 and CS5.5 however format like INDD will be a concern as InDesign file saved in newer version could not be opened in older version directly.
5 --  Alternatively, can I simply install my existing CS 5.5 in a new laptop?
    Yes, you can.
    Hope this helps

  • Is there any benefit to installing anti-virus software on the Windows side of the Boot Camp configuration?

Is there any benefit to installing anti-virus software on the Windows side of the Boot Camp configuration?

The advantage is the susceptibility of Windows systems to viruses and passing those along.  While they may not affect, or infect, a Mac OS X systems, thy can be passed through to others.

  • What are some anti-virus softwares?

OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it updated with software updates from Apple.
You should answer Allan Eckert's question. If you believe your Mac has been infected with a virus, please explain the circumstances that led you to that conclusion. If your Mac is not working as expected, installing any program in an effort to fix it is only likely to make matters worse.

  • Anti-virus Software Interfering with LR3

Just figured I'd post a note concerning at least one LR3 issue of mine being caused by seemingly harmless software running alongside.
I had been having issues with LR3 when deleting photographs, issues that arose as early as LR3 beta 1.  Sometimes LR3 would randomly hang up, taking up to a minute to delete only 4 or 5 photographs.  Occassionally, it would freeze up and I'd be forced to go into the Task Manager, kill the lightroom.exe process, and restart the application.  My posts about this on the LR3 beta forums yielded no leads.
Today I started having the problem again with LR3.  While waiting for it to finish deleting, I noticed that the system tray icon for Avast! Antivirus was spinning around (indicating it was 'working').  Out of curiosity I decided to disable Avast! and, all of the sudden, the problem was solved.  Now LR3 just deletes photographs instantly without a single hiccup.  Here I had thought LR3 had this very annoying bug, when it was an incidental lack of compatability with my anti-virus software all along.  Well, I suppose it can still be called a bug... but at least it is a bug that can be remedied without waiting for an LR3 update.
I don't know if this can help others, but try to disable your anti-virus software in temporary tests to see if performance of LR3 improves.  Antivirus didn't affect LR3s overall performance in my case, but given my discovery it is reasonable to think that other anti-virus softwares could potentially be bogging down LR3 on others machines in different ways.

I would accept that if not for the fact that lightroom 2 worked perfectly
in the same setup and catalog.
I'm going to try selectivly disabling the virus checker on some directories until i find the correct one.

  • Whats the best anti virus software at the moment?

I need to install virus software on my laptop, can anyone help me out with the best one to use at the moment.

I was using kaspersky internet security 2010. But due to some reason or another it wasnt getting rid of a keylogger I had downloaded from somewhere. After installing Avast! antivirus it instantly got rid of it and I shortly uninstalled Kaspersky afterwards.
Not to mention its free, the reviews on cnet give it 4.8/5 stars

  • VERIZON INTERNET SECURITY SUITE ANTI VIRUS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 7

It seems to me that Verizon/Radialpoint should have figured out the solution for this long before Windows 7 hit the streets but here we are a month later and still no anti virus from the product we're paying for. I've wasted countless hours with all levels of tech support, everyone has been very professional and nice but that's not getting the job done. Not only that, I haven't heard a word from the communications giant about the problem. This scares me because once a month I get my pension from Verizon and don' have much faith in a company that leaves it's customers hanging like this.

First of all, Verizon can't control what Radial Point does or doesn't have ready. If they don't provide it to Verizon, then Verizon can't provide it to you.
Second, you might want to keep an eye on this thread for updates and information.
If a forum member gives an answer you like, give them the Kudos they deserve. If a member gives you the answer to your question, mark the answer as Accepted Solution so others can see the solution to the problem.

  • What is good anti virus software for the mac?

What is good antivirus software for the Mac?  I think I've been hacked.

ClamXav from http://www.clamxav.com . Be cautious of other antivirus software as some, not all just some, can cause system issues.  I've used ClamXav for years with no issues with it.
By the way, you may get some responses to this question along the lines of "there are no mac virus's so you don't need antivirus software". While it's true there are no mac virus's today, in my opinion, it's like the stock market in that past performance is not a guarantee for the future.

  • What kind of wireless bridge would work with Toshiba Regza HDTV & Toshiba Blu-ray DVD Player?

What will provide wi-fi to Toshiba DVD player connecting using an ethernet cable, giving an internet connection.

Thank you for this answer. I have another clarifying question for you as I am a wet behind the ears newbie at this. Does this mean that my 2 Wire DSL modem will be acting as the router that you mention? If yes, it would seem that this would also allow me to watch NetFlix movies from my computer on my Toshiba HDTV-correct possibly?

  • Network Load Balancing not working with UDP traffic (Server 2012)

    Hi all,
I manage an application that receives traffic from mobile devices on cellular networks. The traffic is UDP. I have set up two x Server 2012 VMs to form part of a NLB cluster. Each server has a second NIC dedicated to NLB. The traffic is simply NATed from
our firewalls to the virtual IP. When looking at the traffic using a packet sniffer, I can see the traffic being routed correctly to the virtual IP, but the problem is that the return traffic is sent from the IP address on the actual NIC. My application does
not like the fact that the return traffic is coming from a different source IP. Is there any way to force the return traffic to also come from the virtual IP address?
    Thanks!

    Hi
NLB return traffic for UDP would come from the node IPs.
You could use NAT on your firewalls so they come from the same public IP.
Otherwise you'd be looking at something other than MS NLB.
    Cheers
    GF

  • Is CS4 illustrator compatible with Windows Terminal Server 2012 (64bit)?

Please can you confirm if the CS4 version of illustrator will work on a 64bit version of Windows 2012 TS?

You won't get any confirmation on this. Adobe desktop applications are not in any way tested or certified for any server operating systems. This doesn't mean that it couldn't work, but you will have to figure out things yourself and it may take a lot of work to e.g. configure the server's user policies so the activation system can actualyl function.

  • Anti-Virus Software for Messaging Server

I am new to Java System Messaging Server. I would like to know that what is the Anti-Virus Software that can be use with Java System Messaging Server. (Symantec is the one but I dont know about the other)
And I would like to ask that can I use NOD32 (ESET) with Messaging Server ?
    Thank you very much.

Ok. NOD32 runs as smtp filter. That's easy to configure with Messaging Server, using the 'aliasdetourhost" keyword.
In the comparison test they show on their website, I note that they don't compare against ClamAV. ClamAV has no license fees. It's open source. It runs on Linux and Solaris. I'd go there, first.
Since you're sensitive to costs, I'd suggest you have a look at running your system on Solaris X86. It's free, too.
Messaigng Server, SpamAssassin and ClamAV all work very well on Solaris.

  • Anti virus software  and patching os

Can anyone tell me their views on anti virus software running on a database server? We are windows 2003 / 11g.
I have not allowed it in the past but our networking folks think we should have it installed so we can at least scan the C: drive.
Also, what is your policy for updating the OS. I currently do not update the OS unless I have a know issue. Others seem to think this is crazy but this policy has worked well for the last 3 years. I should add that we replace our databases every 4 or 5 years and they are all behind two firewalls - access is only thru the web app or file server.
I would be very interested in other's policies.
    Thanks,
    Kathie

Personal opinion: I'd never put AV on a proper, production Oracle server -and by "proper", I essentially mean what you indicate: it's not accessible directly by the public; it's behind firewalls; it has no functioning connection to the Internet etc etc etc
We also disable automatic updates on all our Windows servers, because otherwise there's a tendency for a production database to die unannounced as the automatic updates kick in!
As for manual updates: we tend not to bother on a routine basis. We've fully patched a server when we were planning to take it offline for other reasons (an Oracle CPU patch, for example), so periodically everything becomes as up-to-date as it can. But during normal running, we just let it run without interruption (i.e., without updates) for as long as we can. Only
