Oracle Applications uses it's own encryption for username passwords in
FND_ORACLE_USERID and FND_USER
There might be some information in the 11i SysAdmin documentation
but Oracle doesn't provide a procedure to decrypt the passwords !
(one thing I know is that the APPS database account password is used to as a seed when encrypting other passwords).
You could check the 11i documentation or raise this query in the 11i forums.
The Oracle Database itself doesn't use encryption for passwords but a
one-way hash.

I would like to know what kind of encryption FF uses and how I know I can trust it? This is not a bone of contention with FF, I love the product, rather it is just a concern I have that will convince me to let FF manage my financial passwords. The degree of protection very much depends on how strong your master password is.
When using a master password, the data is encrypted using [http://www.tropsoft.com/strongenc/des3.html Triple DES Encryption in CBC mode]. This level of encryption is good for general purpose use. The weak point it the master password, if you have a weak master password there are programs available that will be able to crack the master password, they often do this by using a brute force method. If you use a strong master password, the brute force method will need a very long time to crack passwords. PDF encryption - anyone know what kind Apple uses?

I really like the ease with which you can produce encrypted PDFs to store sensitive data. I'm trying to find out what kind of protection this provides. 40bit ? 256bit? Can't find any official Apple data on this.

Unless things have changed, it's 128-bit RC4. Apple changed to that from 40-bit RC4 as of Security Update 2008-002 for 10.5.2.

You don't need a server, you just need a web hosting package such as the ones from GoDaddy or many other hosts. You then send the web gallery directly from LR to your web space.

Check with your carrier about roaming charges. They are usually prohibitive. Best to get a local SIM.

I saw that I can order an iPhone and they will connect it to my Verizon but I have no idea what kind of package to get

I have 2 lines that the contracts are expired. I see that I can set an appointment, have them set up the iPhone of choice to my Verizon account and it even says that they will give me any product upgrade benefits. I find this hard to beleive. For one of the lines i have a product upgrade of $50 (Verizon calls it New Every Two which they did away with but still offer it to people who had it and did not use it yet). On my other line there is a $35 product upgrade. I can't beleive that Apple would give these product upgrade rewards( the $50 for the one line and the $35 for the 2nd line)

Take a look at what is offered by Mac specialists, such as OWC http://www.macsales.com and see what drives they handle. Their drives are all guaranteed to be compatible with Macs. And they have on-line videos that show how to do the installation.
Even if there are problems getting them to deliver where you live, you can get ideas of what works well with your system.

I am moving to the UK, What kind of charger do I need?

I have a MacBook I got in 2009. Im moving abroad in September and Im trying to figure out what kind of charger I will need. I know you can pop off the little plug part on the adapter, and I saw on amazon that I can buy an extension that fits onto the adapter with a UK head on it. Do you think this will work? Or am I going to have to buy a completely new charger? I hope not because the adapter head on Amazon is only like $10!!!
