The role for a coherence node is normally determined by the application. The tangosol.coherence.role system property is used to configure this value. Some out-of-the-box Coherence applications. CacheFactory (com.tangosol.net.CacheFactory) sets this value to CoherenceConsole. DefaultCacheServer sets this value to CoherenceServer. MBeanConnector sets the value to TangosolNetMBeanConnector. If I can find the file by simply browsing backwards through the thread, you can find it, too.

  • What kind of configuring does Apple do when buying an iPad?

I've noticed that when you buy an iPad-mini Retina wi-fi + cellular at store.apple.com, and you select the options that you want, that the following statement appears when you select the carrier:
"Your iPad will be configured to operate with the carrier you choose right out of the box."
What kind of configuring is going on here? Does Apple simply use the iPad itself to fill in the Cellular Data settings for the chosen carrier and perhaps edit the APN appropriately? Or is there more to it than that? If so, what?
As part of this step does Apple insert the appropriate nano-sim card into the iPad tray before it is shipped to the buyer?
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
I bought an iPad Air 64 GB Verizon Cellular. When I received it I set it up then called verizon. The iPad was ready to connect to Verizon and I could add it to my plan. The cellular setup took about 5 minutes, most of that was a reboot while it propagated itself onto the verizon network. The sim was already installed and the iPad was easy to configure.
That beats the heck out of driving 6o miles, in my case, to a verizon store, getting a sim, setting up the iPad and driving home another 60 miles.

  • What kind of compression does Acrobat do when files are combined?

I'm working with some raster print media (specifically PNGs) that I've combined and saved into PDFs for easier printing. The original files are 300dpi scans, lossless compression.
This is the process I follow:
select files to combine in Windows Explorer
right click > Combine supported files in Acrobat
    File size: Default
wait for the new binder to open in Acrobat
Save As > Save as type > Adobe PDF Files (*.pdf)
So it looks like there are two steps where possible compression occurs, 2 (combine) and 5 (save).
2: The "Default" file size button tooltip says all files are kept at their original quality.
5: No information is given on screen as to what kind of compression is done.
The second file type in step 5, Adobe PDF Files, Optimized (*.pdf), gives the option for "Standard" optimization, which compresses images to JPEG and downsizes them to 150dpi. Is this the setting for the first file type as well?

An ordinary save or save as does no additional compression.

  • How can I check what kind of values does transport request saves?

    Dear All,
I have changed the max.foregin exchange rate from 1% to 0% in company code global data and added a new error message 212 in work area F5. Then I transport it to QA system and PRD system.
However in T001 table change log PRD, the address was said to be changed from a number to another number also. But I don't remember that I changed the address of a company code. And I was not able to find the value before and after the change. Do you know where I can find the address of the company code? I have tried to get address in company code global data but in the poped dialog neither of the values are found. It is strange that the addresses of other company codes in T001 are not changed.
And in the transport request, the new number was not included. I don't very understand what kind of information was included but I know I did not change other config of the company codes.
    I have 2 questions
    1. Where I can find the address of a company code?
    2. How to see what information has been included in the transport request?
    Thank you in advance.
    Emma

    Hi Emma,
How to see what information has been included in the transport request?
Go to transaction code  SE10 and identify  your transport request then double click the left side you will be get tree.
if you want you can doubleclick the tree again so that you can identify which configuration step you saved.
    Hope it is useful.
    Thanks,
    Haribabu

  • Snapmirror: What kind of checksum does it use and is there a way to manually verify it?

    Two questions:
    1. I have been searching but unable to find what kind of checksum snapmirror uses to verify its copies. Can anyone tell me? If there is a technical document explaining it, that would be perfect.
    2. Is there a way to manually verify, or display the checksum verification, of a recent snapmirror? Or manually run the checksum verification between the source and destination volumes without having to mount them to, say, a linux server and run an MD5 on them?Reason im asking is that I have some executives that are using an application and its data is now the most important thing to this company...more important than the environment itself. They are asking for this data to be copied from one place to another and then a visual verification of some kind showing that the two match, every 30 days. I say Snapmirror because i know it uses a checksum verification and there we have the copy and the verification in one. I can tell them that if the checksum fails, we will get an email alert that the snapmirror failed. But they want the visual "yes" every time, instead of the silence of a "yes" and a loud "no."

  • What kind of adhesive does Apple use?

The bottom case of my TiBook is a little loose at the battery corner. When I type and rest my palms on the top case, it kind of "pops" or "clicks" a bit as the pressure moves the top and bottom cases together. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying enough to want to fix. I tried to get the folks at my local Apple repair center to deal with it under Applecare (I have about a month left.) They said it wasn't a warrantied problem, but they did offer to glue it for free. I didn't think that was a good idea, so I declined. I have since been told that Apple glued the bottom cases of the TiBook to the frame at the factory, so that would have been the appropriate repair.
If that's true, what kind of adhesive did Apple use for that, and exactly where was the glue applied? It must have been a prettty strong glue, and sparsely applied, as I didn't see any traces of it when I took the bottom off the computer. In any event, if gluing is the right move, I'd just as soon do it myself. The repair center would take at least a week, since they're usually so backed up. But I don't want to use anything that might damage the case or leak into anything.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The metal skin is really glued around the edge by a plastic frame. It is this frame that holds the skin to the main frame and can give problems.
I had to open my ti case to install an airport card. I either did it wrong or the apple glue job was poor because the gray plastic trim around the edge of the metal skin had come loose over 50% of the circumference.
I had a commercial 3M rubber cement on hand so I used that. I applied it with a toothpick very sparingly (of course the rubber cement gets stringy so the job was a ittle messy).
I let dry in a warm room for 24 hours. The reason I did that was fumes from curing glue can be caustic and attack some very thin metals etc. I fugured I wanted to lose any fumes before I trapped them in the warm computer.
It worked well and I haven't had a repeat of the problem.

  • What kind of processing does "export" do?  (i.e., why the huge size reduction of the .mov?)

I have a .mov video I imported into imovie 11.  All I did was add a title bar at the beginning.  The original video size was 2.35GB.  The exported .mov is 985MB.  Why the size reduction?  What processing happens on export?  Does it affect quality.  It was originally 1080p, 24 fps, .mov file from my video camera.

iMovie converted your file to a "more compressed" codec on export.  Most likely when iMovie imported your video file, it converted your video file to AIC, a native codec that iMovie works with comfortably on high definition video (before importing into iMovie, your video file could be also quite small).  AIC file takes a lot of space.  Exported video files are for viewing, not for editing, so by default iMovie compresses the file to reduce the size.  In fact you can change the default settings on export in iMovie (in menu "Share", "Export using Quicktime...").
Yes it affects quality, but usually you won't notice the difference.  It depends on your viewing facility.  Unless you have a high-end projector with 150' high-end screen, or a great video card with Eizo monitor, don't bother.  In any case, you can always adjust the iMovie export settings to satisfy your eyes.

  • What kind of exception does this throw?

Iam doing a cast as I need to cast an object to an integer using the following code?
    int unBroken = ((Number)target).intValue();
I have to use an object as Iam creating a Converter for JSF and it has pre-constructed arguments. So what Iam wondering is (if it was passed a value that was not in integer would this cast/conversion throw an exception as I would like to catch it?

Sorry to waste the time of anyone who read this. I worked it out myself just by forcing the error (duh like that wasn't obvious).
Oh and it was a ClassCastException
    Cheers :)

  • What kind of usb does the new iPad use?

Wondering if they bumped it up to USB2 or not.
    Thanks

Wow, never would I have expected such a quick reply. Thanks, people. But maybe I should be a bit more clear about what I'm asking and why.
I'm a musician who is involved in recording, making music, and sometimes field recording. I have a first generation iPad. The 30-pin dock, if I understand correctly, supports a USB protocol, USB1, but not USB2. USB 1 is not fast enough to support stereo recording at high bit rates (ie 24bit/44.1 khz). I was wondering if they bumped the spec up to the USB 2 protocol, whoch would allow manufacturers to design recording interfaces to handle the higher bit rates.
    Thanks
