Your iPod is probably picking up the default Music Video playlist from iTunes 7. You can identify your model from the information on this page: Identifying different iPod models

  • What kind of ipod do I have and is there a forum for it?

I have an old B&W screen iPod classic format version.
    20GB.
What version is this considered? Gen 1?
Is there a forum for these oldies?
    Thanks

    Hello,
you can use this to identify the model you have.

There is a forum here for iPods in general. But when you need assistance, it's helpful to know/share which model you have.

  • How can i tell what generation of ipod shuffle I have?

We have various ipods and I need to know what generation of ipod shuffle we have.  How can if tell?

This document about resetting the iPod shuffle shows a picture of the four types.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1655
1st gen - It is white plastic and looks like a USB "thumb drive."  It as a full USB connector on it, so you don't need a cable to connect it to the computer.
2nd gen - It is a clip-on design.  It has separate switches for setting playback order (shuffle or in order) and for turning ON/OFF.
3rd gen - It is a narrow clip-on design, with no playback control buttons on the shuffle itself.  You use the "remote control" buttons on the ear buds cord.  It has the new VoiceOver feature.
4th gen - Apple went back to the 2nd gen style, except smaller.  It has only one switch that is both for setting playback order (shuffle or in order) and turning ON/OFF, plus a small VoiceOver button (for using the VoiceOver feature introduced in 3rd gen)

I have an 8 year old G5 / OS X 10.4.11, what kind of problems will I have now switching from Mobileme to iCloud?

You can migrate to iCloud, but the only thing you will be able to do is access email, and you will have toi set Mail up manually to do this:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger
This is worth doing to maintain your email address, but you won't be able to sync calendars, contacts or bookmarks. Your calendars and contacts will be removed from MobileMe (though not from your Mac) and won't appear on the iCloud website.

  • What kind of memory do I have

Hello, I've been trying to figure out what kind of RAM do I have in a computer (because I'm not sure if it's DDR2 or DDR1), so that when I purchase an upgrade, i will be able to use it.
    I tried:

As you can see, in the Type subsection there is no information about it.
    Any links related are appreciated.
    Cheers!
+: Is it true that if 1 RAM is only 400MHz, and another one in the same PC with 800MHz, both only will only use 400MHz?

You could try lshw -short -C memory , dmidecode --type memory (this one gives a bit more info than --type 17), and dmidecode --type 2 (reports mobo model).  But I wouldn't be surprised if these don't give you anything either.
You may just have to bite the bullet and crack open the case.
I can open the case, there is no problem with that (though most times it's not specified on the label)
From your commands I can't figure out what kind it is (though I know it's DDR2)

  • Z61t - so what kind of socket do I have?

Machine type is 9442-89u.  And ajkula66 has suckered me into getting a new CPU for it.  But what kind of CPU socket does it have?  Oddly, I can't find this in Lenovo documentation.
Or, maybe a better question...  How did you know the processor I have?  I suppose knowing that would help know the socket type, wouldn't it?  Hmm.
OK, well.  Looks like I must have a Intel Core Duo T2400 processor.  Which might tell me something.  Only it doesn't, I don't think.  They can take a 478, FCPGA6, 479 from what I see.  Sort of.  Only I don't see.
Sigh.  What kind of processor can this take?  How can I find this information on my own???
    Any help appreciated,
    c

    Take a look at this:
     http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2_Duo_(Merom)
The way I understand it, you can definitely use T7400 and quite likely T7600...
    Hope this helps.

  • What kind of iphone do I have?

It is not the G3. I bought it from a friend (who bought from a friend)so there is no book. Says iPhone when it comes on, but the actual phone itself does not have an apple on it. Looks like the 4gb ( I think) but not entirely.Very bottom of touch screen has a house, an envelope, a book, a telephone and a music note symbols in white actually printed on the face of the screen. Below that, the round circle ( with small square in it) for navigating also has green phone reciever on L side and red on right to use to call or hang up as well as the red is to turn on and off. A dot is above each of these and are navigational tools. If I could figure out what this phone is I could order the manual and actually figure this phone out. Thanks.

If it's got pick up and hang up buttons either side of the "Home" button in the middle it sounds more like the LG or is it Samsung phone (both look like carbon copies of the iPhone)the iPhone only has a single "Home" button and thats it on the face everything else is accessed through the touch screen

  • What kind of Mac do I have

I was given a Mac. It looks like the Mac Pro. How do I find which Mac it is and wht operating system It has.

If it has one optical drive bay (in idiots' terms, one rectangly thingy on the top-front) it's a PowerMac G5 (or the extremely rare Pentium 4 Mac described below). If it has two, it's a Mac Pro.
Still not sure? If it boots, log in (or not, if it autologins), then click the little Apple in the top-left corner of the screen and see what it says there.
If it says Intel Xeon, you have a Mac Pro.
If it says PowerPC, you have a PowerMac G5.
If it says Pentium 4, you're extremely lucky and got one of those Macs that were used to migrate PowerPC software to Intel! Look inside and check if the motherboard is red, then post here with details.
It also shows your OS there. If it says 10.2.x, you're using Jaguar, 10.3.x is Panther, 10.4.x is Tiger, and 10.5.x is Leopard.
It also shows your RAM amount. Anything below 1 GB should be upgraded (not required, but recommended). A quick Google should show you all you need. (Don't upgrade if you got that extremely rare Pentium 4.)

  • Where does it say what kind of video card I have?

I'm using an ibook g4 I bought in early '05 and I want to know what video card I've got installed. Any idea where I should look to find out?
    ibook g4

Apple sure doesn't make that kind of information too easy to find. You can look inside your "System Profiler" utility (in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder), but even then it will probably say something weird like "ATY,M08" that really doesn't tell the average person anything.
Your iBook has a 32MB "ATI Mobility Radeon 9200". I usually visit www.apple-history.com to find these kinds of tidbits.
