What kind of modem is in a Nokia N82

I would like to find out what type of a modem is in nokia N82.
My question is based on the following:
I have been using my Dell laptop as a recording and answering maching for my voice calls using a landline. I had been connecting my phone line thorough an external sahara voice/data/fax modem.
Now I have moved to a place where there is no telephone line. I want to use my cellphone to have my messages to be recorded on my laptop and also be able to record voice calls. The software I am using is IVM recording software. For this functionality to operate the modem has to be a voice modem and TAPI compliant.
When I check under modems in my dell laptop I get conexant HDA D330 V.92. Which is an internal modem in the dell laptop and this modem is not a voice modem. I am not seeing anything pointing to a N82 mobile. My N82 is connected to my laptop via a usb port. I am using windows XP

What I suggest is get yourself an application called "Advance Call Manager" wherein you can set it as an aswering machine and it will automaticall record and save in amr format the voice messages in your memory card and you can now transfer it in your computer or just keep it in your memory card.
This is what I am using in my Series 60 phone, i set anwering machine to activate after 25seconds, so the phone will still ring but if i dont want to take the call, my personalized greeting will play and will ask the callers if they want to leave a message or not.
Really a useful application. It's not free though.

  • What kind of applications is supported by nokia 52...

I tried to install a software but it says my mobile doesnt support SIS.... what kind of software can I install then ?

Nokia 5200 is type of phone that falls into the catagory of series 40.
As far as I know series 40 phones do not support sis or sisx files to install.
Only series 60 [1st,2nd and 3rd edition] along wid dead series 90 and series 80 can run sis files.
Nokia 5200 support installation of JAVA applications, games etc.
    They are plenty.

  • What kind of modem do i need and the price

what is the best modem i can buy i have the keyboard and the mont ijust need the moden that goes to my home page ...now... instead of having to wait. i am new to the computer age

Are you talking about a Computer or the modem? A computer is what you hook the keyboard and monitor to.
A modem either dials out to the your internet provider or you have a  DSL or cable modem that connects to your internet provider.
Some people call the computer a  modem.
If all you want to do is surf the internet then pretty much any computer out there will be great for you.

  • How to install or configure nokia n82 as a modem?

Hi, recently trying to use my phone nokia n82 to connect to my laptop for internet access. My phone have 3G service. But the problem is when i open the "one touch access" software which provide by nokia, the windows show me that there was no modem install on my device. Then i download the modem .inf file from the website. But still the same cannot get access. I wonder how to configure or what is the proper way to do this kind of setup? I hope someone can show me all the steps. Thanks you.

    Hi,
May i know which version of pc suite are you using. Try with the latest PC Suite(7.1).
this type of error comes when the relevent modem drivers and cable drivers are not installed.
To check whether the modem drivers are installed
Goto to control panel and check in phone and modem option whether N82 modem drivers are installed or not.
if it is not there the log in to europe.nokia.com/software and select the relevent software and install.
    it will.
    if any concern mail me.
    regards,

    Hi Shannon,
The type of proxy I'm familiar with is at the http connection level and
associated with the networking properties in the JDK, See:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/net/properties.html
Your question may be related to JWS proxies, See:
    http://edocs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/workshop/guide/howdoi/howUseTheJavaProxyForAWebService.html
You may want to ask this question in the workshop newsgroup.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi, all;
I try to find out how the java proxy of web service in weblogic server 8.1
works. Suppose I use the java Proxy of a WebSerice in a client application whatever
whithin or outside the application of the web service, does the proxy actually:
    1. translate my java arguments objects in XML to create SOAP msg,
    2. then send the msg across the network, and web service also response SOAP msg,
    3. then proxy translate it into return value of the method call ?
If that is true , the Java Proxy seems very inefficient, right?
Can any body tell me how the proxy works ?
    regards,

Load pc suite on to your pc ( www.nokia.com/pcsuite ) and then connect the phone to the pc via cable.
There is then a 'connect to the internet' option within pc suite.
(You will need to configure the setting by selecting your network operator from the drop down list)

  • What kind of wireless router would be best for my Westell B90?

I used to have linksys WRT54G router set up with my westell B90-21004 modem. It used to work fairly well until I've noticed that I've been getting intermittent internet connection. I've called verizon twice. First time, they asked me to switch the ends of the line connected to my modem. The problem continued. The second time, it was because the line between the modem and the phone jack was over 14 ft. I'm still getting intermittent problem. So I've been looking around for a solution and I figure it might be the router. As of right now, the modem is connected directly to the PC and it seems to be fine. When I tried to plug it back to the router, I can't even get online. What kind of router should I get? This was my second router. I used to have a netgear that didn't work at all. Is it even the router's fault? Maybe I did a bad setup or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking back, I should've made the subject title more clear. My modem is a Westell B90 and I have a linksys router. Day two from the changes I made are still ok. I'm still getting what APPEARS to be intermittent internet connection, but it seems that's only if I use firefox. Everything I load in internet explorer seems to load smoothly.
#1 Do you have any add-ons installed for FireFox?
#2 If so, which ones? Please name all of them...

  • What is your reason to wanna buy nokia n9 with mee...

If we look at the hardware on nokia phone, and compare with other company, nokia is still waaay behind.
So if nokia make window mobilephone, why should i buy it at all?
Nokia drop meego is a big mistake.
I buy it because meego looks like fresh, unique and user-friendly.
What is your reason to wanna buy nokia n9 with meego?

rather than the N9 i want an N950 and the Terminal is the main reason for me :-D
people kinda get a bit confused over the term 'support' - support from Nokia only means software updates... in theory if they get it right, it won't need support but as with the N900, there probably will be a lot of community support.
as long as there's a demand there will be people to make apps

I want to use the Web module to publish to the a website... What kind of server do I need to be able to publish my website?

You don't need a server, you just need a web hosting package such as the ones from GoDaddy or many other hosts. You then send the web gallery directly from LR to your web space.
As you're asking such basic questions, it might be best if you read articles like this and see if a friend or colleague can get you started.

Also in order not to pay a fortune for the service is it better to acquire if needed a SIM card only once there?
Check with your carrier about roaming charges.  They are usually prohibitive.  Best to get a local SIM.

  • I saw that I can order an iPhone and they will connect it to my Verizon but I have no idea what kind of package to get

I have 2 lines that the contracts are expired.  I see that I can set an appointment, have them set up the iPhone of choice to my Verizon account and it even says that they will give me any product upgrade benefits.  I find this hard to beleive.  For one of the lines i have a product upgrade of $50 (Verizon calls it New Every Two which they did away with but still offer it to people who had it and did not use it yet).  On my other line there is a $35 product upgrade.  I can't beleive that Apple would give these product upgrade rewards( the $50 for the one line and the $35 for the 2nd line)
does anybody know how to tell if someone is with a carrier like Verizon, how to figure out what kind of iPhone package I should get so Verizon can't get me for going over my ;allotted minutes, text messages, internet usage, etc.  I have never used a smartphone so I have no idea how to tell what kind of package I need for the iPhone.  anybody else know?  I saw that Sprint has a package that is "unlimited with all 4 services like text messages, internet usage, calls, etc for $99/mo.  is this still the case?  Verizon does everything they can to rip you off and charge you for going over.  I have not been able to figure out how I can tell when I am getting close to going over.  is there an app to tell this?
Any suggestions about getting this servic where apple sets it all up, teaches you how to use the phone, gives a decent warranty and offers applecare.  any other carier that would be better?  I heard that the unlimited data transfers does not mean "unlimited" but they still put an amount on the unlinites and if you go over you get docked.  I hate Verizon.

I should say before everybody else does I never learned how to type and barely learned how to write and spell so I probably should have done this some other way.  Sorry.

  • I need to install on macbook pro (early 2008) one hard disk 1 TB. Is it possible? What kind of HD is it better?

I need to replace the HD of my macbook pro (early 2008) with another one with 1 TB storage capability. Is it possible? What kind of HD is it better?
    Thanks

Take a look at what is offered by Mac specialists, such as OWC http://www.macsales.com and see what drives they handle.  Their drives are all guaranteed to be compatible with Macs.  And they have on-line videos that show how to do the installation.
Even if there are problems getting them to deliver where you live, you can get ideas of what works well with your system.

  • I am moving to the UK, What kind of charger do I need?

I have a MacBook I got in 2009. Im moving abroad in September and Im trying to figure out what kind of charger I will need. I know you can pop off the little plug part on the adapter, and I saw on amazon that I can buy an extension that fits onto the adapter with a UK head on it. Do you think this will work? Or am I going to have to buy a completely new charger? I hope not because the adapter head on Amazon is only like $10!!! Here is a link to the adapter head which I think might work http://www.amazon.co.uk/extension-power-Adapter-Charger-Macbook/dp/B004S6VIG2/re f=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1311011961&sr=8-3
I guess Im just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this. I know the voltage in the UK is like 220 and in the Sates its only 110, and I obviously dont want to fry my computer or the adapter, so I just want to make sure Im doing the right thing!!!!!!!
    Thanks everyone!

Thanks guys this is really helpful! Last time I was there I just used an adapter and ended up frying a few things haha so I think I'll get a cord instead!!! Yay, I love my Mac and would never want to hurt it haha, thank goodness they make things so easy
