What kind of replication monitoring tools exist ?

The standard replication logs are very poor, I was
wondering if some more detailed replication monitoring tools were existing and can we find them.

I agree, there is a lot of parameters but it would be really useful, in order to be able to monitor all replication,
to display one window showing, f.i, one line per replication agreement (like it's currently working) with status
in columns. Something like a green light if the last update message is "success" or a warning if there is any error. Currently, you have to walk thru all agreements, one by one, to ensure all replications are ok.
From this point of view, 4.x monitoring tool was easier ;-)
In addition, number of changes is useful but the "data version" as used with 4.x was also easier.
Today, I'm not able to say if the different db have the same contetn without running a script...

  • What kind of java monitoring tools are vailable for v1.4.2_11?

    Hi folks,
I've spent a lot of time in the HPUX environment, but now I'm working in Solaris mostly. Unfortunately, we are having a problem with a java application that is hard to pin-point. Do you know of any Sun tools available to instrument, and or monitor a java application and tell us where it's spending most of it's CPU time? (or possibly how much of certain system calls it's running and spending time in?). We're running:
    ./java -version
    java version "1.4.2_11"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_11-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_11-b06, mixed mode)
In a nutshell, the problem is this....we run a java application in a VCS cluster, which just means that it has the potential to run on one of three possible systems. When the application is housed in a shared disk area that is moved to one particular server, then mounted. On one server, the java application runs 3x slower, but it pegs the cpu at 100%. On the other nodes, it runs at about 20% cpu, and it's out put is super fast. We have undergone an extremely detailed "ha" audit of the OS and cluster configurations, and we find that they are identical. (I used to design and consult with HP for their cluster implementations). I was able to gather some rudimentary OS statistics on java by running the "truss -cal -p <java pid>" command on both systems (good vs. bad). This revealed something strange: that on the bad system, nearly 90% of the system calls java made were "yield". On the good system, about .5% of the system calls were "yield".
Other than that, I'm stumped. Now I'm looking for ways to instrument and monitor the JVM to help pinpoint what the JVM is doing..
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

With iCS2.x, the admin utilities provide `csbackup` command to backup
individual calendar or the whole calendar database. Solstice/Legato
backup functionality is also available. The advantage with the Legato
backup is that the administrator can, in addition, perform backup per user.
(Legato backup utilizes csbackup and csrestore for calendar backup/restore.)

  • What is Business Process Monitoring Tool (BPMT)?

    Dear colleagues
There is also a strange tool named Business Process Monitoring Tool (BPMT), provided as an Add-on installation within SAP Netweaver 701 SP06
[Note 1453759 - BPMT 701 Business Process Monitoring Tool: Installation|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1453759]
What is it, and how it is connected with SAP NW BPM?
Any explanation would be much appreciated

    Hi,
this tool is to provide a business process monitoring within the ABAP stack. So you're able to get information about "how many processes of process X have not been finished, yet". This is based on several agents listening to the business process implementations (e.g. SAP Business Workflow) and provides those generated events to a monitoring engine.
As far as I know this component has not been released, yet. I don't know the delivery date (maybe in QII or QIII 2011) --> who know's?
    Cheers
    Martin

  • What kind of monitor is recommended for the new Mac Pro?

I want ot upgrade to the new Mac Pro from an imac, but what kind of display/monitor would be recommended and how much might it cost?

There are lots of 27"-30" monitors that would work, with the right connector adaptor.  Many sell for around a 1/3rd of an Apple display.  Personally, I like Samsung monitors, but LG makes some very nice ones, and even Dell's monitors are often quite good.  Acer has some nice large screen monitors out too, and while the name might not be commonly known to many people, they are and have been a major equipment manufacturer for decades now and their quality is usually pretty good.
Keep an eye out for sales in the coming weeks and go look at some, preferably side by side.
You should be able to pick up something good in the 25"-30" range for easily under $500/$600 USD (on sale, perhaps well under $300).

  • Available resource monitoring tools

    Hi,
Hi I'm evaluating my option to monitor resource utilisation by domains. The categories I'm interested in are CPU, Mem, Disc and I/O utilisation. What monitoring tools exist? Searching the web, I've seen Without having access to an oracle server, yet, the resource categories of sample output of 'xm list' I've seen so far only contained CPU and mem utilisation but not any I/O (disk or net). Is this correct? And what options have I got to monitor these resources as finely as possible?
Best regards and thanks for your help

Would you like to perform the monitoring from control domain or guest domains? If you do the monitoring inside guest domain, then I guess you can use SNMP tools for the job. I've used Orca and SEtoolkit inside guest domains (they don't use SNMP) but they are a bit outdated for that use. You might also take a look at Zabbix.
I don't know what tools exists for collecting information from control domain (which would require less work and less installed clients etc.). Maybe some custom scripting with SNMP.

  • Good Network Monitoring Tool

    Hello All,
I work in a network that is poorly managed. Really POORLY MANAGED (9 sites, no documentation, disatater recovery no backup). The new mangers are doing their best to clean up the network.
What is the best monitoring tool in the market other that Solarwinds?
    Regards
    Mike

Well first thing is to generate some sort of layout or inventory. There was a good thread on how to do that over on Solarwinds' Thwack user forum earlier this year. It's not SolarWinds-specific so have a look there for starters.
Once you've bounded your problem you can make a more informed decision with respect to tools to use going forward. For instance, if it's all Cisco, Prime LMS is a great tool. For small Cisco networks, Cisco Network Assistant and Cisco Configuration Professional offer some nice (and free) capabilities. For multivendor shops, SolarWinds Orion family (NPM, NTA, etc.) and IPSwitch What's Up Gold are two commonly used commercial products. If you're a bit Linux-savvy, you can pretty easily deploy a set of open-source tools (Nagios, Cacti and RANCID for fault, performance and configuration management respectively).
With the exception of SolarWinds, the above are primaily network-focused. If you want to add servers and applicaitons, that's a bigger discussion.

  • What kind of input for Wrapping tool

    Hi
I am using below command for wrapping tool
    IntuneMAMPackager -i /Users/xyz/Desktop/upload/myapp.ipa -o /Users/xyz/Desktop/upload/output/myapp_Wrapped.ipa -p /Users/xyz/Desktop/upload/xyz_Distribution.mobileprovision -c 7878200C2E4B2F892BB53E75F4042461474CD112
What kind of input supposed to give for "-i" parameter?
As my understanding we can give input as ".app or .ipa" for the Wrapping tool, Is that correct?
Can we give input as "apps downloaded from apps store"?
Can we give input as "installed apps on the mac machine(eg: App Strore.app)
Can we give  input as ".ipa(myapp.ipa) which is created for my app using xcode from developement profile and certificate"?
Can we give input as ".ipa(distrubitioon/enterprise ipa) which is created using xcode from distribution profile and certificate"?
    Waiting for your reply,
    Regards,
    Venkatesh Guttal

The Mini comes with an HDMI->DVI-D adapter.  So, if your monitor
supports DVI-D you are set.  If it supports HDMI, you just need an
    HDMI cable.
If it only supports VGA, you will need a Display Port->VGA adapter.

  • How do you drop a publication that is gone from SSMS but shows up in replication monitor? Here's what I've tried...

    Hello,
I had  two test databases on one server that I had been experimenting with for transactional replication.  I wanted to delete the publication from one database and the subscription from the other and finally delete both databases.  I deleted
the publication, the subscription , the jobs related to them and finally the databases.  I must confess that i wasn't as careful as I would be if I hadn't planned on just deleting everything.  So what I have now is nothing appearing in SSMS under
local publications or local subscriptions for these two test databases (but pubs and subs for other useful things) but in replication monitor the publication shows up with a red x.
I cannot use sp_droppublication  @publication='my pub name' because the publication database is gone.  Can I do anything to remove this publication from replication monitor?  This isn't a production server yet it has some users who would be
severely inconvenienced if I have to drop all replication and rebuild.  Is there any other way?
    Thanks.

Hi, I had a similar case, apply the EXEC sp_removedbreplication, but in the replication monitor even the replication was visualized with a red x, which caused me a false alarm.
The records MSreplication_monitordata table can not be deleted manually, it is only a guide for the monitor replication, because that's what I understood also try removing your records, but had no success.
Reaches a point where I thought I had to recreate all replications, but I found a solution.
Guide me in that table (MSreplication_monitordata), to search for agents publisher that had not been removed (eg DB: SDCGHJ), then search these agents and items in the tables: MSdistribution_agents, MSsnapshot_agents, MSlogreader_agents; located in the distribution
database and delete records that made reference to publisher_db SDCGHJ, delete jobs that they made reference to the publication eliminated.
With these steps the publication is no longer displayed on the monitor replication and "red x" stop appearing.
I hope it is of your utility.

What kind of cord do I buy to hook up my MacPro to my television monitor? And where does it plug in?

Thanks, Matt. I have a laptop, so it looks like I need a mini-DP to HDMI adaptor that supports sound and a plain HDMI cable. Do I have that right???
    ER
P.S. You're corresponding w an idiot writer here who only uses word processing, but it is SOOO much easier to do the few things I need to do on the Internet w my MAC. I was told over and over by other writersit would be better, and they were right. (Although there are a few issues for writers with the MAC.)

  • What kind of monitor do I get as a 2nd one for the imac 2013

    Hi Guys,
I need to know what type of 2nd monitor will I need to buy as a 2nd screen for the new imac 27" 2013.
I have seen a few online, but unsure what to get. The ones i have seen have a hdmi port. Will that work?
And I am guessing I will need a thunder bolt to hdmi cable.
    Thx for your help.
    Kind Regards,
    Apurva Shah

There are dozens if not hundreds of compatible monitors available. Without knowing anything about your needs, it's pretty difficult to offer specific suggestions. If you can give us some sort of information on your needs so that we can narrow down the possibilities, then perhaps someone can recommend a specific monitor.
For whatever monitor you choose, you will need an appropriate mini-DisplayPort adapter for the type of input on the monitor (the Thunderbolt port doubles as a mini-DisplayPort for connecting monitors). There are adapters available to connect VGA, DVI or HDMI monitors which should cover any monitor you're likely to select.
    Regards.

What kind of financial periods exist in SAP? What is the relevant table for that?

    Hi venumadhav
In FInancial Accounting , Period is during time that you post G/L account  and you have to close period after  end of period and you will see the balance each G/L Account in each period.
There are 12 normal period and 4 special period (normal case , but can be changed by configuration ).  normal period are Jan , Feb ,...Dec and Special period are the extended period that use for posting in special case .For example if you close period in Dec and you have to adjust G/L Account by auditor checking  , you can post G/L Account to special period . special period are 13,14,15,16.  12 may use for Audit , 13 may use for changing after Sending to audit and found something mistake . that 's sample.
normally there is posting date to control the period (BUDAT) in the table BSIS. if the posting date is in the during time of period , we can say this posting is in that period .
    posting date : 03.09.2007            period : 09
    posting date : 30.11.2007            period : 11
