What kind of video converter do you use?

When i got my new ipod classic, I was surprised by the splendid screen.
So i convert many mv,movie to my classic. But there are so many kinds of convert soft, which one should i choose?
Considering both speed and quality!
Quicktime is not always suitable.
And i also have another quesition about video.
some videos after transfered into classic are not full screen dispalyed.
Is it possible to make a "16:9" video fully displayed in my classic ?
Tensile may cause the pictures seems uncomfortable!!
Thanks!!

You should use the red kawa: videora ipod converter, which is free
and has different quality settings, however the speed at max quality may take as long as the video long is, and it takes upa lot of cpu
further this is handy as it has an option to add each video directly to the library, and it can also download from youtube

    Hello,
Adobe stopped supporting flash for android since ICS. You may still be able to download the latest (old) flash player "at your own risk" from Adobe archived flash player versions:

As for video streaming, there are lot of apps for that and it's just a matter of your preference.

  • What kind of iphone case do you use?

About one year ago, I bought an incipio silicon case at at&t for my iphone 3g. It was good, but the plastic part was broken in two months.
I bought an iPhone 3GS three months ago and got a crystal-clear case from icarecase. It is a good deal, only $7.99 including shipping. My iPhone has full protection now and it looks nice. The only thing is that I hope it can be slimmer and still keep my iPhone fully protected.
I chatted with icarecase customer service rep, they said they have other cases which are very slim, 0.6 to 0.7 mm, but they are not crystal clear. I will think about it.
What kind of case do you use?

    Greetings,
Case-Mate - Signature Leather IPH3GC-PB. It's real leather, it's not bulky, and nice to work with. The plastic, and silicone ones, are not the best fitting, and stretch out of shape when it gets hot. They can be difficult to remove the phone from over time, and can be awkward to hold and manipulate.
You can't beat real leather, and it has a stiffener, to help provide good grip, and to hold the shape. It offers a decent degree of protection from dropping it from a small distance.
I've had one of these since the very first iPhone. They are only $34.95 cheap, and worth every penny.
    Cheers,
    M.

You could try resetting your preferences (just before starting photoshop hold down the 3 modifier keys
    {shift+ctrl/command+alt/option}
When photoshop starts you will get a pop up asking if you want your preferences reset, just click yes and if that message does not appear try again)

  • What kind of videos can I use?

I had a question, what kind of videos can i upload onto a new nano?
See, I have a DVD of my family reunion, someone video taped it and put it on DVD. Is it legal to use that DVD?
And I was wonering...if so, how do i get it onto the ipod? I have never used an ipod with video...so the itunes part is completely new to me.
Just to tell you though, my XP does not play dvds....any suggestions?

    Whats t&c?
Anyway in most contries your aloud to make backups of your DVD and rip them to watch on your iPod.
Programms which do that include Handbrake and VisualHub.
But if its a DVD you burned yourself, you should be able to convert the files on the DVD with either Quicktime or iSquint without any of the other programms.
iSquint is great much faster than Quicktime and free.

  • Ok, so what kind of videos CAN I get on my Zen?

/Ok, so what kind of videos CAN I get on my Zen?S I just bought a Zen. Been trying for 2 days to load ANY videos on my player and getting nowhere. There's probably something simply that I just don't know.
I bought a movie and a TV episode from Itunes. Downloaded to PC. Can't get them onto my Zen. Tried Creative converter, got error. No description of the error just that the conversion was "unsuccessful". I tried several other converters from on-line. Still errors.
I tried to copy multiple DVD's from the DVD dri've to my PC (to then I assume convert somehow to the Zen), they all say they are protected so I can't copy them.
So what kind of videos CAN I get on my player? It's pretty useless to have video capabilities if you can't use it at all.
    Can anyone help?
    Sign me, aggravated.

I can't help you with iTunes, because I studiously avoid that software. But check your personal messages for more help.

  • What kind of VGA adaptor do I use with my ibook G4?, What kind of VGA adaptor do I use with my ibook G4?

I bought a VGA adaptor wire for my Mac ibook G4, but it doesn't fit my port.  What kind of VGA adaptor do I use?

Hi, and welcome to Apple Support Community.
You need the Apple VGA Display Adapter. This is for video-out to an external display. It will not get you the audio.
If you want video out to a TV, it will require a different adapter.

  • What kind of video camera do I need to be able to import to

I do not know what kind of video camera I need to have to import to iPhoto. My parents have a VHS camcorder. Can I use that one? Do i need to have a digital camcorder?

    Hi Katrina,
    welcome to thsi forum
    to throw in some €cents...:
    * mini-dv, nothing else
    * with the "big" brands (Sony, Canon, ...) you stay save
    * go to a shop and make some "hands on experience"... Panasonic for example is VERY small for some hands...
    * ask for a firewire-cable, 4/6pin to connect camera with your Mac (no, usb DOESN'T work)
    * that camera doesn't need any effects...- you will add this in iMovie..., so a very basic one is good enough
    * get a second battery and a tripod ;-))
    * follow any other advice given you here in this forum
and, besides, no, vhs camcorder don't work with iM....

  • What 'Digital Asset Management' system do you use?

I'm researching Digital Asset Management systems that I can use to create a elegant online image and graphic download centres, branded for individual clients.
Has anyone found or created their own solution in this field? I would be interested to hear of your experiences and view online examples if available.
    Steve

    Steve,
There are literally hundreds of Digital Asset Management systems out there as numerous vendors from a wide range of backgrounds (software vendors, printers, design agencies, video producers etc) all think they have some insight that makes them uniquely qualified for this field.  This makes it a bit tricky to recommend a specific option as a lot depends on what kind of asset you're needing to manage.  You need to do an assessment of:
What kinds of assets you're most interested in
How many there are (i.e. the scale of the library)
Is it single or multi-users, do you have external suppliers who may need access
If you have IT skills in-house to install and maintain the system
If so, what technologies you prefer, if not to what extent you are comfortable with external hosting and someone else holding the assets
What you want to do with the assets: download, manipulate, integrate etc.
Who will catalogue the assets and what kind of tagging/metadata etc. you want to apply
How the assets will get on/off the system and who decides whether they should or should not
With that information, it's easier to narrow down the list of potential candidates, but you will still have quite a few other decisions to make to isolate the right product for your needs.
If you're interested in information about Digital Asset Management, check our our site: http://www.daydream.co.uk for some reports and articles that are relatively spin-free (disclaimer: we're consultants so we can't claim total impartiality).  We're also the original developers of an open source .NET based DAM: FocusOPEN Digital Asset Manager.  If .NET doesn't appeal then http://www.opensourcedigitalassetmanagement.org seems to have a good run down of the major options that don't cost anything to get going.
    Good luck

  • What type of video camera do people use to edit professionally these days?

I use to own a Mini DVC camcorder that I would edit video with in Final Cut Pro. Now since my Mini DVC camcorder broke I'm shopping for a new video camera but found myself really confused on what I need to buy for a good professional video camera at this point. It seems like DVC camcorders have been turned obsolete and now my options is a camcorder with a hard drive or a sd card in it, unless there are other options I'm not seeing at the local best buy.
I'm a little hesitant with the SD and hard drive cameras just for the fact that I would think they would be compression the video when saving it to these new formats, and I also don't know what compression scheme there using. With a DVC all I had to do is shoot the video and then hook it up to my computer via firewire and capture it, this would allow me to compress the video while I was capturing it.
With these new cameras I have no clue on what compression scheme they use and if there even a good option for good professional video editing. I'm not looking to spend to much money, I was hoping I could get something between $200 - $400 tops, but I wouldn't spend this type of money till someone gave me a little advice on what format is right to use with computer video editing these days.
Any advice or recommendations would be very appreciated. If the price is right I would take standard definition (just for the fact that my Mac is a G4 and I don't really think it can do HD video that well), but if I could have an option to later shoot in HD that would be very helpful to.

With a DVC all I had to do is shoot the video and then hook it up to my computer via firewire and capture it, this would allow me to compress the video while I was capturing it.
DV video, recorded onto DVC (Digital Video Cassette) tapes, would NOT be compressed during capture. DV, DVCam and DVCPro (all varieties of the DV25 codec) is compressed 5:1 when recorded to tape. When you capture, all that happens is a straight digital transfer of 1s and 0s from the tape to your computer. No further compression was taking place.
What type of video camera do people use to edit professionally these days?
All types. Everything from Flip cameras to HDCam SR.
I'm a little hesitant with the SD and hard drive cameras just for the fact that I would think they would be compression the video when saving it to these new formats
You'd better get over that ... tape-based recording is going the way of the audio cassette.
I also don't know what compression scheme there using
Now you've hit upon what I consider to be the main problem with non-tape cameras; many manufacturers have taken to using codecs that were originally designed for final delivery, like H.264. So they need to be converted to an editable format PRIOR to editing. That's probably the reason that Apple developed the ProRes family of codecs. It's definitely a change in workflow. The other real issue I have with non-tape recording is the lack of a decent archive method. With tape you had a built-in archive medium; the tape itself. But with the new card-based recording, your archive options are limited and more expensive than tape.
    If the price is right
And what price would that be? What's your budget?

  • What kind of KVM switch can I use to monitor sun rack with 490s, 245s, and

    Hi,
What kind of KVM switch can I use to monitor sun rack with 490s, 245s, and T2000s ?
    Ushas Symon

It sounds like the customer and server room operator are using a Microsoft/X86 mindset. There are several selling points on using RSCs & SCs. First off are the big 3 that are easy for any good server room operator to understand: cost, space & power. If you don't have to buy a 1U Tripp-lite pull out rack KVM console ($1700) and a video card for each of your SUN servers ($400, yes SUN vid cards are $$$), you start off by saving several thousand dollars.
Next you need to let them know that you require remote access to the systems from your desk and a standard KVM doesn't allow this (with Unix, if you have to get up from your desk then its a hardware problem). They can choose to purchase a network enabled KVM, but that adds $700 to your $1700 KVM. By using the SC you will be able to administer the system remotely.
Third, remember that SUNs do not show all the critical boot information on a frame-buffer console output. If you are in diagnostic mode during boot, the monitor doesn't show results until it completes. If some process is stuck (missing NFS or fibre-channel hard mounts, memory tests, etc) then you need to be able to see it to fix the problem. Plus, console frame-buffers only give you 25 lines of output that you can't scroll back.
The only small hitch is security. The new SCs (on T5220s) have SSH built in, but the older V240s and V490s use telnet which some security people balk at. The solution that we used is to put the older system SCs on a private LAN. Access to that private LAN from our intranet is via a SSH enabled dual-homed (non-routing) workstation with local user accounts. We SSH to that workstation & then telnet to the SC on the relevant server. That solution allows me to access our servers that are 40 miles away, saving response time to solve customer problems. A crude diagram is below:
    your workstation------intranet------[dual homed, non-routing workstation]------[inexpensive switch]------[server SC]
    Good luck.

  • Pro Users - What Type Of Audio Interface Do You Use?

I'm thinking of upgrading from this cheap usb, and was wondering what are some models/brands people have that they'd recommend? Preferrably something reasonably priced that's still a quality interface (if this is possible)?

you don't say what your 'cheap usb' interface is that you're currently using.. so it's hard to get any idea how many inputs and outputs you want or need. do you require zero latency monitoring for recording? do you want or need digital i/o? what kind of price range are you thinking? do you have a use for something with good quality mic/instrument preamps or do you already have that covered?
my general rule is to go for the absolute least number of inputs and outputs that you need. I believe it's a better idea that your money goes into quality sound for the amount of i/o channels you actually will use, rather than buying some box with 36 simultaneous bad sounding inputs. many people work almost exclusively using software instruments and audio files inside the box, and when they record, it's only one source at a time. and yet they go buy a MOTU 828 or something cos they think for some reason you're supposed to have lots of i/o just in case. but if you're never going to record a drumkit, or multiple musicians playing at the same time, you're never going to need it.
figure out what your needs are first and then narrow down your choice to the best quality units you can afford that provide the i/o you can ever see yourself using. then, ask around to figure out which ones have the best drivers and sound.
if this is for your macbook, then your best bet is to go for firewire. but if you're also using a FW drive for your audio, you're going to want to be careful they'll play nice together cos they're going to be sharing the same data bus.
lastly, if you only ever need stereo in and out.. you might want to consider getting a device that just works using the optical i/o of your machine. then there are no drivers at all, and the sound quality can be extraordinarily good if you can afford a converter like a rosetta.. all that money will go into absolute premium quality, rather than buying tons of channels that will just gather dust if you have no use for it.
