What language is used between ?   ?

I have the following sample code. What language is used? Why \u0022 is used? Is there any guide or documentation available for this?
<? if (\u0022[DEST_DT]\u0022.equals(\u0022DATE\u0022)){?>TIMESTAMP<?} else if (\u0022[DEST_DT]\u0022.equals(\u0022NUMBER\u0022))

The reason you will see these in place when the multiple phases of substitution are being taken advantage of.
If you see the posts in Re: Regular Expression wierdness - problem with $ character you will see the phases.
If you want to use multiple phases of substitution, you need to ensure that it is interpreted correctly.

  • What should I use  between JSE and JEE?

Is it true that JSE can do only certain level, but JEE can do the same with JSE and specially beyound of JSE.? If i want to develop a web application, what should i install to my computer between JSE and JEE or i have to install its both?

    hi
you dont get all the features of j2se when you have j2ee with you. they are 2 different things.
j2ee mostly deals with things which are required for a enterprise application building which include EJBs, Servlets, JSPs etc. while the J2SE is more useful for application developement (using Swing e.g). this is only a crude differentiation.
the choice betweeen the two depends on your requirement. e.g. if you are developing a web application, you will go for J2EE and proceed using the components available there.
if you specify your requirements, then we can discuss the details may be.

  • MBP re-assembly: what adhesive to use between components?

I'm putting a new hard drive in an old MBP, and the service manual says for re-sticking the infrared connector to the top of the hard drive +"Make sure the flex cable is re-adhered to its spot under the infrared connector."+
I don't think Kapton tape's used, but does anyone have any idea what's the proper adhesive to use?
    Thanks
(Oops, also posted this under the "Displays' topic by accident, but I doubt I'd get a reply from there - sorry for reposting!)

You shouldn't have to worry about it. They use something to stick the flex cable and the IR cable to the top of the HD in most of the pre-unibody MBP. Once you replace the drive, just make sure the flex cable lies flat on the drive and you will have no problems. I have replaced at least a dozen drives in MBP and have never had any problems. If it makes you feel better, you can use kapton to hold the cable in place.

  • VERY Basic Questions about Oracle eBusiness - what "languages" are used?

Please forgive the very basic nature of this post- (I have been in systems (IT) for over 20 years, so I do have lots of systems experience, but no exposure to this particular software.)
So here are the basic questions - I assume that much of the data base logic is written in PL/SQL, but what other tools / languages are the applications written in?
(Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Java, C, something else?)
With over 20 years and experience with a number of other packages, I can learn a great deal about an application by 1. Looking at the DB structures (charts), 2. looking into DB code (Packages, triggers, procedure, functions) and 3. Seeing the screen shots.
None of my customers have had Oracle eBusiness - that have had home grown applications or other COTS/packages.
can anyone suggest a place where an independent person can inexpensively get some exposure?
My sincere thanks for any answers/suggestions.

  • What language is used to develope objects

    C, C++ or Visual C++

All three! Technically speaking, you can develop the objects with just C. However, with Lookout 4.0 and above, C++ is used in the sense that all the files and syntax is in C++.
(Object Oriented Programming is just a concept -- can be, theoretically at least, accomplished with any language, but C++ makes it much easier).
Visual C++ is the compiler Lookout and NI prefers and recommends. You can try using other compilers but may run into compilation problems.. which will not be supported by NI.
So, C++ in Visual C++ environment is the answer to your question.
    Hope this helps,

  • What language is best?

anyone know what languages they use to program online games, such as everquest, ultima online, WOW, and so forth? I eventually want to work for a company that makes online games and didn't know what langauge they use... ie i dont know which language is really good to know. do they use java?

http://www.gamedev.net is another good site to check for game programming.
Most serious games today are written using C++. However, Java and C# are both good alternatives, that offer almost the same level of performance (if used properly) but much greater ease of use. In both cases, if there's something you'd really rather do in C++, there is a way to interact with native code.
However, no matter which language you use, I'd suggest not starting with a massive multiplayer game like Ultima Online. Rather, make some simpler games, learn networking and graphics, and progress gradually towards something that big. Massive multiplayer games are about the hardest games to program, because in addition to real-time graphics and AI/physics simulation, they also require very efficient networking, and synchronization of hundreds of users.

  • What language should i use :C# or java?

I want to develop an internet game that will allow entering for many users at the same time. And create in dynamic way new rooms. What language wouild you suggest me to use:C# or java?

The only difference between these two languages is the performance.
C# is a little bit faster in some fully graphical applications. If your program will use a lot of graphical information and a lot of online graphics updates than you should choose C#.
Java is easier to develop due to its garbage collector and more pure OO than C#.
Final: you should choose the language you know more. If you dont know any of these, than choose JAVA. :^)

All are Used In Material Requirement Planning(MRP)
Consumtion base Planning :-   Consumption-based planning procedures are straight forward materials planning procedures with which you can achieve set targets with relatively little effort. Therefore, these planning procedures are used in areas without in-house production and/or in production plants for planning both B- and C-parts and operating supplies.
The type of order proposal which is automatically generated during materials planning depends on the procurement type of the material. For materials that are produced internally, a planned order is always created. For materials procured externally, the MRP controller has the choice between creating a planned order or a purchase requisition. If he decides to create a planned order, he must then convert it into a purchase requisition and make it available for the purchasing department.
in MRP there are three Type
    1) Reorder Point Planning
         A) VB - Manual Reorder
         B) VM - Automatic
         C) VV - Forecast
    2) Forecast Based Planning :- Material planning is based on forecasted requirements. This is preferred when the future requirements might not be the same as the past consumption, but to forecast, the past values are considered.
Like reorder point planning, forecast-based planning operates using historical values and forecast values as future requirements are determined via the integrated forecasting program. However, in contrast to reorder point planning, these values then form the basis of the planning run in forecast-based planning.
The forecast, which calculates future requirements using historical data, is carried out at regular intervals. This offers the advantage that requirements, which are automatically determined, are continually adapted to suit current consumption needs. If, during the current period, material has already been withdrawn from stock, then the forecast requirement is reduced by the quantity of material that was withdrawn. This means that the quantity of the forecast requirement that has already been used is not included in the planning run again.
    3) Time Phase Planning :-  If a vendor always delivers a material on a particular day of the week, it makes sense to plan this material according to the same cycle in which it is delivered, but displaced by the delivery time. This is possible with the time-phased planning procedure.
If a particular material is to be planned using this procedure, you must set the MRP type for time-phased planning and you must enter the planning cycle in the material master record. You enter the planning cycle in the form of a planning calendar in the Planning cycle field. You must also define a planned delivery time and the Lot-for-lot order quantity as the lot-size key.

  • What's the difference between using a connection pool and a datasource

Howdy. I figure this is a newbie question, but I can't seem to find an
    answer.
In the docs at bea, the datasource docs say
"DataSource objects provide a way for JDBC clients to obtain a DBMS
connection. A DataSource is an interface between the client program and the
connection pool. Each data source requires a separate DataSource object,
which may be implemented as a DataSource class that supports either
    connection pooling or distributed transactions."
In there it says the datasource uses the connection pool, but other than
that, what is the difference between a connection pool and a datasource?

Thanks for the info. I think it makes some sense. But it's a bit greek.
I'm sure it'll make more sense the more I work with it. Thanks.

    Peter,
Here is a more formal definition of a DataSource from the Sun site
"A factory for connections to the physical data source that thisDataSource object
represents. An alternative to the DriverManager facility, a DataSourceobject
is the preferred means of getting a connection. An object that implementsthe
DataSource interface will typically be registered with a naming servicebased
on the JavaTM Naming and Directory (JNDI) API.
The DataSource interface is implemented by a driver vendor. There arethree types
    of implementations:
Basic implementation -- produces a standard Connection object
Connection pooling implementation -- produces a Connection object thatwill automatically
participate in connection pooling. This implementation works with amiddle-tier
    connection pooling manager.
Distributed transaction implementation -- produces a Connection objectthat may
be used for distributed transactions and almost always participates inconnection
pooling. This implementation works with a middle-tier transaction managerand
almost always with a connection pooling manager.
Does that help clarify the distinction?

What's the difference between using "802.11n (802.11a compatible)" and "802.11n only (5GHz)" modes on the Airport Extreme?

    802.11a gives you 802.11g speeds but using 5GHz (54mbps
    802.11n gives you 144Mbps (600 peak) at 2.4GHz or 5GHz
