  • Does Siri support multiple languages

I live and work in a multilingual environment. As a result, I often have to send SMS and emails in English, French, Italian or Portuguese. With the keyboard, I am used to switch language with the globe key next to the spacebar. With Siri however I am not sure how this can work. When it does eventually support the above languages, will I be able to use different languages without changing the whole telephone setting? Can one say "send email to my wife: buongiorno amore"? It would be a real letdown if the coolest feature of iOS 5 were unusable to me...
    Thanks

Yes, exactly. I am using Siri in English since she gets better along with the rather easy synthax (compared to German). Unfortunately you cannot switch directly when writing a message. For example, if you tell her to "write a message to my wife", you may immediately dictate what you want to say but only in English. If I want to write her in German instead, I will have to tap once on the message area. She then instantly changes to German (or any other language that was used as keyboard before) which also affects Siri's voice recognition. But one tap is reasonable.

  • What language does FCE come in?

When I plan to purchase my macbook pro I can choose to have the english version of os x 10.5.1
I also want to include FCE 4, however I dont know what language FCE comes in.
Does it support many languages on 1 cd, but installs to your default os language?
    Thank you

If the Mac OS current language ("primary system language") is in the list of languages in the Get Info finder window for any application, that application runs with the same Mac OS current language.
If you disable the primary system language in the Get Info window, English is used. If you disable also English, you get some other (enabled) language chosen in a way that is not clear to me... (not alphabetical, not in the displayed sequence...). In any case by disabling what you don't need at the end you get to the language you want, as long as it is in the list.
Now, don't ask me how to add or remove languages from that list in the Get Info window: there are Add and Remove buttons, but I never used them...

  • What apps does Versions support

    Hi,
I was wondering which apps support Versions right now? I know it is supported in TextEdit, but does it support other apps such as Pages, MS Word 2011? Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

saw an article on the recent iwork update, so iwork supports versions too. Still not sure what other apps are supported though.

  • When will Siri support Greek?

    When will Siri support Greek?

That would be a question to ask Apple, not users   But I'm sure they probably won't know either, so maybe it's a rhetorical question?
I'm sure when it becomes available, they will posted it here with all the other languages: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4992
    Language support and availability
Siri understands and can speak the following languages:
    United States (English, Spanish)
    United Kingdom (English)
    Australia (English)
    France (French)
    Germany (German)
    Japan (Japanese)
    Canada (Canadian French, English)
    China (Mandarin)
    Hong Kong (Cantonese)
    Italy (Italian)
    Korea (Korean)
    Mexico (Spanish)
    Spain (Spanish)
    Switzerland (French, German, Italian)
    Taiwan (Mandarin)
Can I use Siri in any of these languages in other countries?
Yes. You can enable Siri in any country, and you can choose to speak to it in any of the languages that Siri supports. However, Siri is designed to recognize the specific accents and dialects of the supported countries listed above. Since every language has its own accents and dialects, the accuracy rate will be higher for native speakers. Find more information regarding which Siri features are supported around the world.

  • What languages are supported in Lumia 800 UK versi...

Does anyone know what language options Lumia 800 sold in UK has?

I was under the impression perhaps erroneously that Windows is much restrictive than previous Nokia OS in this respect, even though Windows Mobile 7.5 Mango delivers increasing support for other languages.

  • Does SAP Support the "XML Process Definition Language" (XPDL)

Does SAP support XPDL. IF not what is the alternative standard that they support?
    regards,
    Thomas

As far as I know there isn't any support for XML process description language. they only alternative is OMG BPDL, which is still under work.
Many people tend to compare XPDL to BPEL, although it is not so right. I think that this link http://kswenson.wordpress.com/2006/05/26/bpmn-xpdl-and-bpel/ explain it.

While trying to setup a time capsule backup to my MyBookLive external drive, I got the following error message: The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features. What's up with this?

This means that your NAS does not support the required encryption. Update your NAS to the latest firmware or ditch it and buy a Time Capsule (they are the most reliable when using TM).

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Fusion Drive is created by software on OS X. On a computer with Fusion Drive, Windows is installed on the HDD, but when you install the Boot Camp drivers, you will be able to read Macintosh HD, so it looks like it supports Fusion Drive but only for read

  • I am unable to sync my iPhone4 iCal to my Mac iCal. Snow Leopard does not support the Cloud. What do I do?

I am unable to sync my iPhone4S iCal to my Mac iCal. Snow Leopard is my OS and it does not support the cloud. What do I do?

To makeuse of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • I can't install my old logic 8 on my new macbook pro. It says it does not support powerpc applications anymore. what do i need to do?? this is ridiculous!!!

I can't install my old logic 8 on my new macbook pro. It says it does not support powerpc applications anymore. what do i need to do?? this is ridiculous!!!

Logic 8 will probably run on your new machine but the installation program contains some older PPC code for pre Intel Macs. This was not a problem as all OSX versions contained the "Rosetta" PPC emulation, that is, up until Lion when all PPC emulation was dropped.
There are ways to do this however, try searching Google for:  Installing Logic 8 under Lion or Mountain Lion.
