I have a macbook pro 17" 1,1 model (early 2006), but I do not have installation discs.
If I order a replacement, what version is it?
Can I install the latest version 10.8.4 in 1,1 model?
If it is possible, what I have to do to get it done? And the price?
    Thanks

MacBookPro1,1 can only run Mac OS X 10.6.8, as it has got a 32-bit processor.
If you order replacement DVDs, Apple will send you DVDs with the original Mac OS X version that came with your Mac, in this case, Mac OS X 10.4.5.
If you decide to get replacement DVDs, Apple will only charge you for the delivery

  • Mac OS X Server: Can I install that in a Intel iMac running OS X Tiger?

    Hello,
I really want to buy the Mac OS X Server Tiger Software, but before that I still have lots of questions, so here is just one question:
    - How can I install that on my iMac Intel running Tiger OS X? Do I need to make a pertition of my MBR Hard Drive in order to be able to fully run Mac OS X Server on my 2Ghz Intel Mac?
Thank you, hope you got a solution for my problem.

    > How can I install that on my iMac Intel running Tiger OS X
Umm, you mean other than inserting the DVD, double-clicking the 'Install Mac OS X Server' app and following the on-screen instructions?
    >Do I need to make a pertition of my MBR Hard Drive in order to be able to fully run Mac OS X Server on my 2Ghz Intel Mac?
If you want to, sure. There's no need to do this, though. The only reason to create a separate partition is if you wanted to dual-boot your machine so that you could switch between Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server, but that's entirely optional.

  • What is a SSD and can I install one into my 2008 Macbook Pro?

I searched through some older threads about this and have obtained some basic information. Mainly that I should install a SSD but I'm not 100% what that is. I'm not super tech savy though so any help would be most appreciated. when I took my MBP to the Apple store the genius there called my computer vintage and said I should just buy a new one because there wasn't anything I could do it to make it faster. was he right?
    here's my macbooks specs.
    MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2008)
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB
    thoughts? thanks!!!!

Replacing a HD with an SSD can give a remarkable boost in performance though you'd still have a vintage Mac. You can check out OWC as a reliable source for SSD's and look at their installation videos to see what the job is like.

  • What version of tux12 servers can be installed on Windows7 or 8?

    I've installed tuxedo12.1 64bit on Windows7 machine.
I cannot startup up our servers with tuxedo.
Is tuxedo12 compatible with Windows 7?
My application is compiled with Tuxedo12c 32bit for clients.

    Hi,
Microsoft does not consider Windows 7 or Windows 8 to be server platforms.  As a result Oracle does not support Tuxedo server components on either platform.  You should be able to install the Tuxedo Windows Client Only kit on either.

  • OS X server can be installed on to Workstation?

I installed Mac OS X server onto a regular workstation, and I wondering if its meant to work on Mac Pro. Mac OS X server works on Xserver only?
    Thank you
    Luis

    Hi Luis
+"Mac OS X server works on Xserver only?"+
    No.
    http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/specs.html
OSX Server is the Software itself. As long as the hardware meets the minimum qualifying spec is all you need (see link above). An XServe is not the Server as such. It's dedicated hardware designed to fulfill a server role. There are some who run the Client OS on an XServe.
Searching the Forum and you would have quickly lots running OSX Server on Mac Minis, iMacs etc. There are some who would say running OSX Server on a MacPro offers you more in the way of Storage as well as noise reduction compared to an XServe.
However an XServe offers a level of built-in Hardware Redundancy that you wont get on any other mac hardware.

  • Unable to install SSL Certificate - ADMIN4118: Only one server certificate can be installed at a time

    Hi,
We are trying to install SSL certificate (Verisign Class 3) on iPlanet Web Server (version 7). However, at the final step we are getting the error "ADMIN4118: Only one server certificate can be installed at a time"
We are following the below steps,
    Under "Server Certificates" tab,
         -> Click on "Install" button.
-> On "Select Configuration" click on "Next" button.
-> On "Select Tokens and Passwords", select default token as "internal" and click on "Next" button.
-> On "Enter Certificate Data", select option as "Certficate File" and give path to the certificate file which is having .p7b extension
-> On "Certificate Details" we are getting warning as "Duplicate Server Details Found" and it's by default using the existing certificate's nickname.
-> On "Review" page after clicking "Finish" button, an error is displayed saying "ADMIN4118: Only one certificate server can be installed at a time"
There are multiple sub-domains availble and the new certificate we want to install contains one more sub-domain.
So, say currently the subdomains present are,
    1.abc.com
    2.abc.com
    so on...
and now we are trying to install a SSL certificate having one more subdomain say 10.abc.com.
Please let us know if you have solution to this problem.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
That error is most commonly seen when you are trying to install a certificate chain into the Web Server.
The chain should be installed using the "Certificate Authorities" tab per the following steps:
    1) Login to the Admin Console.
    2) Click Edit Configuration from Common Tasks > Configuration Tasks.
    3) Click the Certificates > Certificate Authorities tab from the Configurations page.
    4) Click the Install... tab from the Certificate Authorities (CAs) page.
An Install CA Certificate Wizard opens. The wizard guides you through the settings available for installing a Certificate Chain. Select Certificate Chain when prompted for Certificate Type.
You should then see the CA and intermediate certificate(s) listed in the security database.
If you have access to MOS, more details can be found in the MOS KM Note:
Oracle iPlanet Web Server - 'ADMIN4118: Only one server certificate can be installed at a time' When Installing Certificate Chain (Doc ID 1925025.1)

If you are going to use Audit Collection Services (other methods to collect event logs can also refer to requirements below), here are some requirements:
A member of an Active Directory domain
A minimum of 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM, with 2 GB recommended
At least a 1.8 gigahertz (GHz) processor, with a 2.8 GHz processor recommended
10 GB of hard disk space available, at a minimum, with 50 GB recommended
