What mail queuing notifications are available with Exchange Online Protection (EOP)?

Basically, if EOP detects a service failure for the on-premises Exhange Servers and mail queuing is enabled, what notifications are available from EOP when mail queuing is enabled? I am unable to find a screenshot or documentation regarding this.
Does EOP have the ability to email and or SMS notifications to an outside email address indicating the mail queuing has been enabled for the domain?

Unfortunately, EOP doesn't have an ability to notify you with the SMS or email if the email is queued. We need to perform a message trace on the EOP to review the list of emails which is in pending status.

  • Exchange Online Protection (EOP) instead of EDGE server ?

Hi, we have Exchange 2010 with HUB server in LAN and EDGE in DMZ. There is an EDGE subscription on HUB and we use EDGE Sync.
We have Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange (FPE) installed on EDGE. Our license for FPE is coming to end and because FPE is discontinued we want to replace FPE by EOP as SPAM filter and AV for our on-premises Exchange 2010.
What is the best practise in my scenario?
Should I omit EDGE 2010 server and create send and receive connectors on HUB server for direct connection to EOP? Is EOP replaces the EDGE 2010?
    or
Uninstall FPE on EDGE 2010 server and create on it send and receive connectors for direct connection to EOP?

    Hi,
We can run the Windows Azure AD Sync Tool Configuration Wizard to set up directory synchronization. It would
synchronize user accounts in an on-premises Active Directory environment to Windows Azure Active Directory (AD), where a copy of those accounts are stored in the cloud.
Then we need to set up an Outbound connector and an Inbound connector to enable mail flow between Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and your on-premises mail servers. Here are some references about
directory synchronization and mail flow processing through Exchange Online Protection below:

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 and Exchange Online Protection (EOP)

Hello, I have just set up a new install of Exchange 2013 and connected mail flow with EOP. Mail is flowing, and I can access emails through the Outlook Web App. However, I cannot get Outlook 2013 to link up to the new configuration. I got Outlook for Mac
to work, no problem. But, I get an error on outlook 2013 that says it must sync folders for a first time to open.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Use another user to test, check whether he can use Outlook to access his mailbox or not?
If this user also cannot connect to his mailbox, I suggest you go to check whether all the Exchange services are started, make sure RPC client access service is started.
You do need to replace the self-signed certificate.
If you don't want to buy a certificate from a Third-Party Issuer, then install Windows CA and issue a certificate from there.
Even if it does work with the self-signed certificate using Outlook 2007, it is not a supported configuration and you will not be able to connect with Outlook 2010/2013.
I have seen new installation of EX13 having SSLOffloading turned on causing the problems. Turn if off if you do.
Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity 'SERVERNAME\rpc (Default Web Site)' -SSLOffloading $false
Let us know the output of the above so that we can proceed further.

  • What JDeveloper certification paths are available?

    Hi everyone,
What JDeveloper certification paths are available? Admittedly, I am a total newbie, but based on my prior experience, certifications are a great way to accelerate toward expertise. Currently, I am studying Java and JDeveloper as a way to retool my technical skill set. Having been certified Oracle Forms 9i, 9i, and 6, I can say that I understood some of the more obscure functionality as a result of completing a certification.
We have both R12 and 11i instances where I work, so if there is a path that is well suited for R12, I would certainly be interested.
As for my background, I am a techno-functional consultant that has an extensive background in Oracle BOM, MFG, and WIP, and my experience dates back to 10.7 NCA. As for my current position, I am the time and expense lead.
With that in mind, any suggestions that you have would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Shay,
Thanks for the information. ADF and OAF differences and where they are used are understood. That said, we are using JDeveloper to create applications for our EBS environment. With OAF and EBS, the TEMPLATE.fmb and particular libraries were the starting point. ADF does not seem to have such restrictions, but since I am new to this arena, I wanted to be sure.
The link that you mentioned is where I got the following study guide link: http://www.oracle.com/partners/en/knowledge-zone/middleware/1z0-554-exam-study-guide-322495.pdf. But, I am a little surprised at a single exam; there four my prior certification. Do you have any recommendations for a JDeveloper book that covers all of these topics?

    Hi Vsu,
To know the query execution time:
First execute the query in RSRT. To Check how much time it is taking to execute.....Goto SE11> Give table name RSDDSTAT_DM or RSDDSTAT_OLAP in BI7.0 or RSDDSTAT in BW3.x.> Display -> Contents-> Give from date and to date values as today, user name as Ur user name, and give the query name --> execute.
Now u'll get a list with fields like Object name(Report name), Time read, Infoprovider name(Multiprovider), Partprovider name (Cube), Aggregate name... etc. Here the time read represents the time it has taken to execute the query.
If the data to that query is comin from many cubes in that case copy the step id from the above result and go back give the step id and Object name (Query name), User iD, Date now execute... It will display the total time the query executed in the time read field.
    Hope ity helps you...

  • Forefront to Exchange Online Protection - Notification Issue

So I guess we converted awhile back to EOP, but I wasn't with the organization.  The problem I have is, when I remove the sync tool off our server, I keep getting notifications that things arnt in sync etc.  Clearly they are because we are using
    the Azure tool now.
I found our group email below in the old system (forefront admin center) but I can't edit it or remove it.  Any ideas on how to stop these emails!? Thank you!'

So I guess since I started this thread I will respond to it to help everyone else out. I hadn't gotten a response in a week so decided to take matters into my own hands.
We were migrated over to Exchange Online Protection like I'm assuming you others have.  What I ended up doing was logging into the EOP portal and going to service requests or support or whatever on the left hand side.  I put in a ticket to Microsoft.
They ended up escalating it to the FOPE team who then reached out to me via email and asked a few other questions to confirm what I was doing.
They ended up taking care of it for me and we havn't gotten any notifications since.
Hope this helps!! Let me know if you have further questions.

  • Can Exchange Online Protection work with Exchange 2010 on-premise

I want to keep my current Exchange 2010 server but switch to Exchange Online Protection for anti-spam.
    Is that possible?
    Without doing any AD/Azure sync?

Yes to both.  With directory synchronization you can have the added benefit of blocking mail to nonexistent recipients.

  • Lync 2010 Integration with Exchange Online UM

    Hi All,
Recently I have got the project to integrate Lync 2010 with Exchange Online UM, I have gone through the TechNet article but it seems very confusing and things are not very clear, can some please please help me out in this that how to setup this, what ports
do I need to allow from on premises to Exchange online UM.
There are some other questions as well which is not clear from TechNet.
    1. Create SRV record, when I create the SRV record in external dns then in the host providing this service will be access edge fqdn is this correct.
    2. Configure Edge Server for federation (do I need to run this on Edge server or on Lync FE Servers,  I believe on FE SErvers is this correct, if yes then do I need to run the setup again on Edge server by exporting Topology or the replication will
    do the needful)
    3. To Create a hosting provider do I need to run this command on Edge or on Lync FE Servers.
    4. To create a hosting provider you need to run the command
    New-CsHostingProvider -Identity Fabrikam.com -Enabled $True -EnabledSharedAddressSpace $True -HostsOCSUsers $False -ProxyFQDN "proxyserver.fabrikam.com" -IsLocal $False -VerficationLevel UseSourceVerification
now from the above command -Identity what will be the Identity name it can be any thing or it should be some thing related to exchange online um.
for -proxyfqdn what will be the FQDN name here, from where I can get this name
    5. Do I need to add or remove any domain names in office 365 if yes then what domain names it will be
    6. If my sip address is abc.com then do I have to add this domain name in exchange online or do I need to add another domain name how this setup will be
    7. if I will create any new domain in the dns in office 365 then do I need to add this domain name in my external dns if yes then which ip it will be pointed to.
Please guys help me out as I m new to exchange um online and I have never integrated it before.
    Appreciate your help

    1. Yes, create an SRV as per Lync documentation for external access to Edge.
    2. Correct, all config is done on
Front End and will be replicated to the Edge servers. As long as your Edge servers are replicating successfully theere is no need to do a manual import.
    3. Run this PowerShell on the Front End
    4. Identity is a name to identify the hosting provider such as "Exchange Online". See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398490.aspx
proxyfqdn for Exchange Online is exap.um.outlook.com
    5. Your SIP domain will need to be added a a vanity domain in Office 365
    6. Same as above, just add as vanity domain
    7. Any added domains need to be setup as per Office 365 documentation, nothing special needs to be done for UM integration.

  • Lync 2013 On Premises integration with Exchange Online Unified Messaging

I am working on deploying Lync 2013 Server on premises and integrating it with Exchange Online. We do not use Exchange on premises.
My question is how to integrate with Unified Messaging specifically. Other functions like Calendar, call logs seem to be working fine.
There are many guides online on how to do this, and I have read many and attempted to follow with no luck. All seem to assume that UM has already been deployed on prem which I don't have. Is this possible to integrate Lync with Exchange Online without having
and Exchange deployment on premises first.
Another source of confusion is the Office Voice Access number and how Lync clients dial voicemail. Where does this go if somebody dials internally (from Lync) and externally (from PSTN)? Exchange online or Lync on prem? And if Lync, then my guess would be
Lync forwards on to Exchange Online UM somehow. Do I have to purchase a number from somewhere because of it being on 365 or can I use a spare DID?
From my tests so far, when I call voicemail as any user, it seems to dial that same user and then the call fails.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

You can integrate Exchange UM with Lync Server 2013.

  • Lync on premises with Exchange online UM SRV record

    Hi,
We have Lync 2013 on premises and we have Hybrid exchange deployment, recently we have integrated Lync on premises with Exchange online UM, we have configured subscriber access and I have done all configuration, created hosted voice mail policy, created
    Subscriber access UM contact.
Problem is that if a user dials from Lync client to voice mail (Exchange online UM Subscriber Access number) the call successfully establish, if the same user is outside the organization and wants to call the Exchange online UM Subscriber
Access number from his mobile or from his home phone number the call doesn't connect, this problem is not from the same user any one from outside the organization can not call to subscriber access number from his mobile or from his landline (outside the organization
    numbers)
I have done some logging on Lync Edge server and found two things:
When a user calls from Lync client to O365 UM Subscriber access the call establish successfully and when I see the call logs I am seeing the
[email protected] and SRV record for the domain.com is verified
When a user calls from outside the organization (Landline or mobile) to O365 UM subscriber access the call doesn't establish and when I see the call logs I am seeing
[email protected] and subscriber access number as
[email protected] and the error says Unable to resolve DNS SRV record for domain it.domain.com.
Please note our internal domain is it.domain.com and our external or smtp domain is domain.com
In Lync 2013 the default sip domain is also it.domain.com and additional sip domain is domain.com
Pleasae help me to resolve the issue.
If answer is helpful, please hit the green arrow on the left, or mark as answer. Salahuddin | Blogs:http://salahuddinkhatri.wordpress.com | MCITP Microsoft Lync

The issue is that your default domain is it.domain.com. I suspect that even if your Edge server is able to route this call back to Exchange online, that tenant will reject this call as it will not be able to find it.domain.com or federation SRV record associated
    with it.
You will need to change your default SIP domain to your public SIP domain. If you decide to do this, please note that you will also need to review any impact on the simple URLs (and certificates if applicable).
It is also recommended to perform an export-csconfiguration command to backup the topology before making these changes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Configure send connector for exchange online protection

    Hello Forum members,
I am trying to configure send and receive connectors for Exchange 2010 to route
on-premises mailboxes to Exchange OnLine Protection.  The "help" info MS provides
is for Ex 2013 - and the EAC GUI and config does not lend a close fit to using the 2010
Exch Management Console.  How can I configure connectors to properly connect to the Exchange Online Protection?
I have seen where the ip addresses are posted, etc.  I am unclear how to configure the properties on the SBS 2011/EX 2010 server.
    Any tips will help,
    Thanks,
    Eric H.
    Network and Server Installs

    Hello Wesleyhe,
You cannot use AD anything with EOP - if you mean exchange on-line protection.
you have to set a smart host on the SBS server to connect to EOP, you may need to add the EOP server ips to your network config
on the SBS server.  the smart host line (for the send connector on SBS server) is something like: yourdomainname-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.
Then you need to configure the outside ip for your SBS server access in the EOP admin area.
    Hope this helps.
