What makes up the section of I Pod Capacity Titled "Other" in Summary

On my I Pod (Video), under summary, it says I have 4.02 GB of Audio, 14.05 GB of Free Space and 9.75 GB of Other and I would like to know what exactly is in that Other section in case I can clear some of that out. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!! I have searched everywhere for this answer and can't find the answer.

When I went to sync my 3gs iPhone today all of a sudden it says 'other apps' section is over capacity. What constitutes this section and why would it jump since last week's normal weekly sync session?

What should should the "Section Number" text variable display?

Regarding the updating text that comes from "Insert > Section Number" and is placed in a layout...
It seems that this text should always update with the section number, as the title states. However, each time I use it/test it, it displays the book title. Is this a normal occurance (and I am just confused by the name?), or should it be displaying something else?

What makes up the space allotted to "other"?

I recenlty installed lion on my system and went to the "about this mac". To my surprise, I found a huge 120GB of storage space alloted to "other". What is this 'other' and how can I get rid of it or at least reduce it?
I posted a screenshot below.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am piggybacking on this, as well. Maybe we'll get a good answer, because I'd like to free up as much space as possible on my machine.
I spent a good amount of time moving files off my computer, since they're backed up with Time Machine, and that only reduced my Other category by 2GB, even though I've taken 13-15GB off my machine. So, it's not documents (and I doubted that I could have that many pdfs and spreadsheets... I didn't). I use Clean My Mac to keep my machine from overflowing, but I'm suspicious about this much memory being gobbled up with items that I can't identify; is it ALL important, or is there a way for me to clear this Other slate? I bought a lean 128GB SSD, but I don't want to feel maxed out all the time, because this great machine stops working when the memory fills up.
Also, I assume that learning how to do this will help me maintain a better machine in the future.
I am going to visit a Genius Bar about this, if a genius doesn't raise their voice here. Also, I'd bet the answer can be found in the MacRumors forums?

What happened to the sound on incoming phone calls and other notifications???

I have my sound on "Loud (Active)" as I always do and then all of the sudden it stops making any sounds or chimes when I receive calls, emails, texts or facebook notifications. My calls and ect. are still coming thru, but just completely silent. I have to look at my screen to see I have a call coming thru and wait for the little red light at the top to see if I have any text messages and whatnot. Does anyone know why this could be happening? Now during the workday I will probably end up missing important phone calls and playing phone tag with people.
Any help would be appreciated

I have the same problem, the only thing by me is its on and off could be a few days that it should work and then all of the sudden it stops

I'm a musician and performer and own 400+ cd's and will never buy DRM mp3's so i don't want it my device crippled in some way to just because some record exec guys in private jets want to make more money that they won't pass on to any artists anyway. ...make it simple... it's a hardri've, keep it as such.. no sync required, just drag and drop it all, everything. back and forth.

DoNOT support MP3pro DRM schemes.
if they don't like it. don't support DRM files at all. there's plenty of ways for users to loose the DRM anyway

If you want to record at least one hour of music, you need to make the max. of 320 bars last for a long time - for example:
With a maximum of 320 bars, a song with160 bpm and a 4/4 measure will only last for 8 minutes; to make it last 32 minutes, reduce the tempo to 40 bpm.

You would have to delete the existing iCloud account and create a wholly new one - you cannot change the @icloud.com email address of the one you already have. To make a new one, you will also need an new AppleID as any AppleID can only have one iCloud account associated with it.
Deleting the account will not delete anything off your device (if prompted for things like contacts, choose to keep them). You will have to sync everything anew with the new account as you cannot move your sync'd content, your old backups or anything else from one iCloud account to another. You will have to set up sync again and let it sync to the new account, and then make new backups to the new account as well.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
    1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
    2.    Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
    3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

Could be the graphics card, run the Apple Hardware Test
If the hardware test doesn't reveal any problems, use Lion Recovery.
