What mfp printer works with airport?

I want to buy a mutifunction printer that works with Bonjour. I have an HP p1006 that used to work with SL, now very flaky. I have to delete it often, have plugged it into the Extreme, and another Mac connected directly to the base station.

Have a look at this Macworld MFP buyers guide. There are several suggestions for a new MFP and via this site there are other reviews.
I have the Canon MG6150, which is the Oceania version of the MG6120 sold in the USA and mentioned in the article, and it works fine as a wifi device for printing and scanning.
The thing to note is that the printer does not have to support Bonjour to make it compatible with Lion, or Mac OS X for that matter. But what the Bonjour protocol does do is advertise the printers existence on your local network and thus makes it easier for you to add the printer. So don't base your search for a new printer on the criteria that it supports Bonjour. If it supports wifi and has drivers available for Lion, then these are far more important. And if you have iOS devices, you may want to add the support for AirPrint.

WIll any non USB based printer work with airport express?

If you have an iPad, you might want to concentrate on printers that are AirPrint compatible, so that you can print from the iPad.
See this Apple support document for more details.

  • Will a wireless printer work with airport extreme?

Will a wireless printer work with airport extreme? Such as an HP Photosmart D110.

Yes, it will as long as it is within wifi signal range of the Extreme.  Of course, you'll need to go through the printer setup sequence. NOTE:  The D110 is not AIRPRINT compatible, so it will not print from ios operating systems that are installed in mobile devices such as iphones, ipads, ipods.  However, there are Apps that are available for non airprint printers, but their quality and effectiveness are questionable.

  • HP DeskJet F380 won't work with Airport Express

    Hello,
I just purchased a HP DeskJet F380 AIO printer to use with my PBook G4 12". It works fine when connected directly to the PBook through USB, but when I try to use it with Airport Express it won't work. The printer setup utility recognizes the printer as a Bonjour printer but then the specific model won't show up in the pull-down menu. I've tried picking other HP printer models, but when I try to print the printer won't do anything at all. I asked HP support and they basically threw up their hands and gave no assistance.
How can I make this printer work with Airport?
    Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Discussions
    Try the process outlined here:
HP Printers (and others) not on compatibility list and Airport Extreme Printing
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/1300.html
If the supplied HP driver won't work (and as there are no third party alternatives available) then no it won't work with Airport.

  • We have a Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 and cannot get the printer to work with airport express - any suggestions?

Can anyone give us suggestions on how to get our Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901 to work with airport express? We cannot get airport express to recognize the printer.

Refresh all your devices before reconfiguring printer to connect to your computer.
    a Shutdown computer
b Pull out printer power cord from the socket. Let it stay for at least 30 seconds then plug it back.
c Powercycle your router (unplug your router for at least 30 then plug it back. This will not change the settings of the router. This will just refresh the device)
d Once router is ready , put back brick at the back of the printer to turn it on
    e Wait one minute
    f Turn on computer

what app can i get to have my dell v515w printer work with my iMac

Dell has some really great drivers -- for Windows and Linux. But none for any version of Mac OS X.
LinuxPrinting.org does not llist that as a printer supported by any of their drivers -- not even badly supported.

  • Printer problem with Airport Utility and Epson CX5500

    Hi,
I recently bought an iMac '24 2.66 Computer and was able to set up my internet through an airport. When it came to hooking up a wireless Epson CX5500 printer, the airport recognized it, but when it came to print in the printing queue it simply wont print. I was able to find a very helpful post that would possibly be my next step in fixing it (probably just a program error or hook up)
    Here is that post:

    +Hi there,+
+I had the same problem, but with an Epson CX5500.+
+Firstly, BTW - I found out there IS a list of supported printers: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1370?viewlocale=en_US. Before you scream - "that's leopard you idiot"; in the table, if the printer is listed with a MODERN driver, then it will work with Airport Base Station - eg TimeCapsule.+
+Next. My problem was solved by deleting the spaces put into the printer name by timecapsule. When the printer is recognised it was called "Epson CX 5500". My Macbook printer service then set up a Queue which was mdns://...Epson%20CX%205500... Note - substitution of %20 for space in the name. I removed the spaces from the name via airport utility, manual set up, printers. Now the macbook could print to it.+
    Cheers,
    Mark
The problem that i have is the step by step process of altering this or finding it. As i made the name of the shared printer EPSONStylusCX5500 but could not acess the printer name one to change it. The url link still shows the 20%. If someone could please take the time to explain on how to do it, then maybe just maybe, i would be able to print wirelessly. Any other ideas or even cheap printers that would work without a problem as i would simply go out and buy one instead. Thanks.

    When you say.....
I cannot get it to work with AirPort Utility....
What does not work?  Can you open up AirPort Utility and  take us through the steps? What happens after each step?

  • Does the HP 5MP printer work with Mavericks?

I have an old HP 5MP printer that currently sits unused.  It served me well years ago so I'm reluctant to get rid of it.
From what I understand, I could use a simple USB Parallel Printer adapter to get the printer working with the 10.6.8 version of X I currently use.  (I'd just be printing out some simple text documents, no images, etc.)
However, I thought I read somewhere that the 5MP will no longer work in Mavericks.   Is this correct?  (I hope to eventually install Mavericks within the next few months.)

No, no other computers on a network to hook it up to.
Honestly, I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me to get rid of it.  Space is limited here and I should probably part with the 5MP.  But I know that even if I try donating it it may end up in the trash somewhere.  It's a solid and decent printer (for simple text items) and don't want to see it killed.

Nothing will print. My printer works with every other program, but not this one!

I see the printer, in blue when I click on the hardware tab. Actually there are 2 things listed that have to do with the printer.
    The first one is called:
HP Photosmart Prem C410 series (DOT4PRIN.... and under the Type it is listed as IEEE1284.4...
    The next is listed as:
HP Phototsmart Prem C410 series and under the Type heading it says Printers.
I don't know which one to pick.  So when I choose the name highlighted in blue, what do I do to change the name?

  • What is Print Work Bench

I want to know that "What is print work bench in ABAP and where it is used" . Am I right in thinking that it is related to SAP Script

PrintWorkBench is a tool used for priting in IS-Utilities.
The transaction code is EFRM. You can use it with Sap Scripts and Smartforms both. There are standard Form classes available which can be used to create Application Forms with transaction Code EFRM. Application Forms basically is a data retrieval program and by which data can be displayed in Layouts created using Scripts or Smartforms.
I think this solves your doubt.
