What Microsoft recommend on installing a SIEM agent on AD and Exchange ?

Can you please advise what Microsoft best practices are on installing SIEM agents on AD and Exchange for log collection.
For Instance Qradar solution insists to install
WinCollect on AD and Exchange, but I am reluctant fearing that it will utilize compute and memory resource creating bottlenecks..
I would rather collect information through WMI..
Any Microsoft document strengthening my opinion?

I just want to confirm what is the current situation.
It seems like there is no MS document mentioned about installing SIEM agent on AD and as Joseph__Moody mentioned, installing any additional software on domain controller is not the best practice.

You would have a number of problems although your Phone would still work, bugs and all, until the software was released in the fall and you couldn't switch over in the developers site.

I did it through CS, I think. I used the installation disk and selected Acrobat. It loads and then gives me all kinds of error messages and then uninstalls itself.

You are in the typical catch22.. you cannot use the TC without setting it up.. you cannot set it up without Lion.. so you can install the latest utility.
Do you have any reasonably current iOS devices.. they can run the iOS version of the utility.. that will allow you to set up the TC.
Or invite a friend with a laptop running at least Lion
Or take the TC back and get a plain USB hard drive and backup to that.

What Microsoft Updates are really being installed?

I’m updating Win 7 64 Bit PCs using WSUS. On the PCs. In “Windows Update, “You receive updates:” is set to “Managed by your system administrator”.
The problem is determining what was installed. WSUS installs doesn’t jive Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Programs and Features>View Installed Updates or Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Windows Update>View update history.
In WSUS, 20 updates were installed, including 2 Office updates. In “Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\View update history”, 12 updates were installed on that day, including the 2 Office updates. The “Control Panel>All Control Panel
Items>Programs and Features>View Installed Updates” shows 40 Office updates alone were installed on that day.
What’s going on? How can I tell what updates are being installed?

We could generate three reports:
1. Update Reports: provide the status of the updates;
2. Computer Reports:show you the status of computers;
3. Synchronization Reports: enables you to see synchronization information for the WSUS server for a given time period, including errors that occurred during synchronization and a list of new updates. In addition, you can get general, status, and revision
information for each new update.

For on-prem Exchange 2013, there really is no equivalent otherwise. ForeFront For Exchange is end of life next year.

Installing oracle management agent 12.1.0.2.0 in silent mode.

version: 12.1.0.2.0
platform: IBM Aix power systems 64bit
I installed the oracle management service along with the oracle management agent that comes along with the the first installation. I deinstalled the first installed OMA and tried to install it again using the silent install mode with the response file.
(oms host and the oma host are the same)
among the 3 modes of silent install described in the installation guide, i used agent deploy method.
Here are the steps i followed with the install

How to install interMedia web agent

Hi folks,
I downloaded im8154_lnx.zip (interMedia Web Agent 8.1.5.4) for linux
from Oracle. The webserver I am using is Oracle HTTP server.
Before I install the web agent, the HTTP server works fine.
I read the document for installing interMedia web Agent, however,
it is not the case when I tried to install the agent. For example,
the doc asks me to include mod_oraordwscias.conf in the oracle_apache.conf file,
but the mod_oraordwscias.conf file doesn't exist. I only have three
files in the /ord/web/apache/:
mod_oraordwsc.c mod_oraordwsc.h mod_oraordwsc.module
I also don't understand what's the file mod_oraordwsc.module for.
Does anyone know how to make the interMedia Web Agent module works with
Oracle HTTP server? Thank you so much.

The interMedia Web Agent is not available for the Oracle HTTP
server on Linux, nor are there plans to port it or support it on
any platforms or web server configurations other than those shown
below. For information on alternatives to the Web Agent,
please see the interMedia software page on OTN:

The closest equivalent of the Web Agent is the interMedia Code
Wizard for the PL/SQL Gateway.

OWSM installed on client Agent machine?

If I need to install a client agent on a machine where the is no OAS installed i must install an OWSM on that machine (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10291_01/doc.1013/e10298/agents.htm#CIHBABDJ)
Is a OK to just do a basic (developer) standalone OWSM installation? If not you also need a database installed and then it begins to be a bit expensive.
What about monitoring. Can I configure is so the monitoring data is send to my main OWSM installation or will it only be available at the local OWSM?

How to install Oracle Grid Agent 11g into windows hosts ?

Hi there, I was not able to deploy management agents into windows hosts machines !
I followed steps below and I am getting these errors :
On windows 2003 server, I have downloaded grid agent here :
D:\grid\Windows_X64_Grid_Control_agent_download_11_1_0_1_0\windows_x64\agent
I have setup.exe file ! When I double click it, I got this message :
Only silent installation is supported search help.
Well, I did a lot of times setup.exe -silent -responseFile <path>additional_response.rsp and the setup process tells me that I am not following the security procedures.
I am newbie on Grid!
I don´t want deploy agent using deployment wizard due to security resctrictions, they do not allow openssh servers on windows servers.
Have you guys succeeded with this installation ? I mean, install fresh agent on single target windows server machine!
I would appreciate any help.

what I would do is go for the cloning option.
On the OMS Server an Agent has been installed as part of the OMS installation.
Stop this Agent
AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl stop agent
Create a zip file from the agent11g folder
Copy it to a server where you want to install the Agent
unzip the folder in the location where you want to install
Restart the Agent you had stopped on your OMS server
AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl start agent
On the destination server
Then from the AGENT_HOME/oui/bin
runInstaller -clone -forceClone ORACLE_HOME=<full path of Agent Folder> ORACLE_HOME_NAME=OracleHomeAgent11g -noconfig -silent b_chainedInstall=false oracle.sysman.top.agent:s_installType=AGENT
Then from AGENT_HOME/bin/agentca -f
AGENT_HOME/root.sh (Under Unix this needs to be run as user root, not sure if this procedure is the same under Windows)
This is based on the procedure described in MOS note : How to Clone a Management Agent And Known Issues [ID 579156.1] which referes to a 10.2.0 Agent, but I have been able to use this procedure under Windows with a 11.1 Agent as well.

Apple most likely has the same poor taste that Microsoft does when it come to defaults. Microsoft likes to hide things like settings, preset, folders etc from normal users think the dumb or something else. If Apple also hide things you will have to make some system setting changes that will allow Finder to do it job and find it for you.

When you select a client agent from the SQL Data Sync landing page, three buttons appear at the bottom of the page.

MANAGE KEY
Create a new agent key. After you create an agent key, launch the agent and submit the new key value.

Hi,
The problem here is that the web agent has to be installed into the same Oracle home as Oracle HTTP Server/Oracle Portal. Unfortunately, this was omitted from the web agent's installation README. (This has just been fixed and the new version has just been replaced on OTN.) To get the web agent up and running, de-install it from the Oracle8i home and re-install it into the Oracle HTTP Server/Oracle Portal home.

What bluetooth device is installed on my Omni 200 5380qd?

I recently performed a clean install of windows 7 64 bit home/premium (I7 2.93 Ghz, 8 gb RAM). Unfortunately I could not copy the original drivers because my OS was entirely inaccessible. My question is, what driver should I install for my bluetooth adapter? The current driver indicates it is the generic driver and does not even tell me the brand of bluetooth device. I have attempted to update it from device manager, however I says the best driver is already installed (from 2006). This computer was purchased February 2011 and I would at least like to have the original driver and know the brand of the device??? Thanks in advance!!

You can use the Device Manager to determine the brand and model of the bluetooth. Right-click on the bluetooth device and select the details tab in the properties window and then use the drop down under properties to select the hardware ids information.
Post the hardware ids information and I will be able to tell you what it is.
