Hi, it turns out it is not Mail. It is the entire OS. Now, even when Mail is closed stuff keeps downloading and uploading until I close ALL appplications.

are you getting an error message, Odessa? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
if you're not getting an error message, describe what happens when you try to transfer songs to the ipod as best you can.

6th generation nano screen black but able to touch screen from memory to get music to play..called customer support they said it's the backlight since touch screen can still be touched and music can be played..any thoughts?

second 6th generation nano..again with the same problem..screen is black will not turn on but am able to touch screen and get music/radio to play...able to touch around on screen from memory..nano is recognized in itunes and computer..but screen will not turn on..called customer support today..of course out of warranty but was told that it sounds like my backlight is burnt out and that's all i need fixed, told that it shouldn't be that expensive (live in myrtle beach SC) and that my screen is fine since i am able to touch around on it...any thoughts?

Replacing the backlight usually requires replacing the entire front LCD/digitizer. And yes, it sounds the backlight has burned out.
Keep in mind that if you go the Apple route, they won't actually repair the iPod, but instead will do an out of warranty exchange meaning your current Nano will be replaced with a refurbished model of the same capacity and generation.

Playing a prompt while another process is running in the background

I'm running ICM 6 with IP IVR Queue Manager 3.5.
I've built a couple of scripts that take input from callers and then uses the input to query a database. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to return with a response so I want to play music or a prompt while it retrieves the data.
Is this possible with Queue Manager?

I haven't used anything earlier than 4.0 so I'm unsure of any idiosyncrasies between that and 4.0 but I assume this would still be possible so what I'd do is just place the call on hold before you do the DB dip and then after it's done take the call off hold and do whatever treatment you need to.

My Mac Air purchased in Sept 2011 gets exceptionally hot after only 10 minutes of charging with the fan coming on. This also happens if I'm listening to music, watching a video, or doing an online crossword puzzle. When I shut it down the fan continues for a few minutes before shutting down. I took it in to the Genius Bar and they claimed the heat was within specifications.. I've owned several Macs and Mac iBooks in the past and this has never happened before.. Has anyone else had this same problem or have heard of it?

It should not get that hot under 'normal' use.
First try a SMC reset.
Also note that it's a known issue that when attaching the magsafe connector and then within a few seconds opening the lid or in reverse, it can heat up for no aparent reason. Closing and reopening the lid should solve that.
A workaround for this is to wait ca. 15-30 sec. after opening the lid, before connecting the magsafe.

Shazam identifies it as "Dirry Of Dj Smellyballz 2" by Big J. This could be wrong of course - I've never heard of that particular tune. My first attempt to identify it picked up the tune in the ad preceding the video clip, hence my reason for deleting my earlier post.
I agree with AppleMan in that I've never come across it in the iLife jingles.

Right now I am playing Final Fantasy X... yes.. an old game..... it's taking a long time to complete it. Before it, I played Mass Effect 3. Very nice game! Love the story! A lot of action and drama too. Recommend it to FPS and RPG gamers! Love the graphics too! Lady characters are very sexy! I think I'm in love with Miranda :p I'm also playing a little BF3 from time to time. I'm planning to go back playing MMO but can't decide what to play yet. I played Dragon Nest but got tired of it...

Yeah StarCraft 2 looks awesome. I think I did play the first installment before I started working. I would like to finish the story. Been a fan of it since the first StarCraft... iTunes in the Cloud is a free feature that gives you access to your past purchases which you can then download to your library or stream. You can disable the display of Cloud items by going into iTunes preferences from the menus or press Control-Comma, then select the Store tab and untick Show itunes in the Cloud purchases.

When I select this option I get nothing. The songs I have downloaded must be somewhere because they are listed in my i tunes library and on the screen I've been sent to. I can't the songs to play however. This is not true of all of my songs but it is true of quite a few of them. Actually, one song is too many. How do I get my music to play that seems to be locked up somewhere in the computer?

Presuming they're on your computer, right click on them and then follow the prompts to locate hte file on your computer.

And you are positive the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano?
Have you tried another set of headphones to see if the problem persisted? If so, it's likely that the headphone jack needs replacing.

The music app on my iPhone says it's playing a different song than what is actually playing. What's going on here?

I have a few playlists on my iPhone, and when I went into my music app today to listen to them, some tracks didn't play. Others did--but the track that played was NOT the track that was displayed in "Now Playing." I tried to re-sync to resolve the issue, but I'm having the same problem. Any suggestions?

I didn't try reset or restore (resets are easy enough, but restores tend to be kind of extreme solutions for something like this), but I did go back into iTunes, uncheck the "Music" box, and re-sync. Then I checked it again and synced. I'm guessing that a previous wi-fi sync got interrupted, and as a result, the associations between the song information (what displays) and the actual file got out-of-whack somehow.
As near as I can tell, the problem is fixed...

This happenned to me! just hold the lock screen and the home button till you see the apple logo.. let it turn back on and it should be working :-)
