What new fonts come with iWork '06?

Hullo all:
But not all at once!
I'm eagerly awaiting iWork '06 from my local Apple Store, who tell me it's delayed. I live on a boat so I can't short-cut things by ordering on line: I'm 600nm from my mail at the moment!
I'll be buying the update for the comments feature; but I've also read mention of new fonts being included.
Are they, and if so what are they? Are they just display fonts, or are there any more classic text families included: e.g., at least regular and italics to compliment the likes of Didot and Baskerville?
I'd love to know. If the news is disappointing, it'll ease the wait.
If it's not, it'll make it the more intriguing!
Cheers.

Thanks Gerry,
That is exactly what I wanted to know. It seems there will be a couple of new items to explore.
I have previously taken your advice as to the Appleworks 6 fonts (from pagesuser.com) and transferred the Apple fonts to my home library. There are some nice display fonts there - but it really takes Pages to utilise them (at least on screen!)
Incidentally, I cannot thank you enough for your initial reference, some time ago, to your own web page. As you know, I've found it extremely promising, and have on occasion referred others to it from these forums.
But I have also followed up the templates to which have referred me, and I have only to remark that already there is truly wonderful work being done with what the Pages machine provides for.
I am presently embarked on a project that is strictly classical book authoring and typesetting, and am amply satisfied with Baskerville, Didot Italics, Goudy Old Style Italics, Zapfino (incredible, isn't it? I wish more came with anywhere near its repertoire!) and the odd freebie (until I publish!) that I've gotten from just subscribing to commercial font suppliers.
My notional deadline, however, is early 2007. And as that approaches I will be looking for design above my present "paygrade" for a cover and dust-jacket, as well as frontispiece and flyleaf pages. In prospect of which your site is truly an education.
Apropos your own Pages template you sent me: alas, despite my Provencale patrimony, I shan't be starting a restaurant in this life (though I'll mention it to St Peter as unfinished business in due course!)
But simply to see the scope of what can be done with what we now have is a challenge to anyone. I've looked at the commercial examples to which you have referred me, and they are really polished starting points for those whose needs they address.
On the other hand the Zen series that your site also leads to is barely short of numinous in the prospect it discloses.
If anyone else cares to read our little topic: well there's a present for them!
Cheers.

  • Do new computers come with OS X redemption code?

I just purchased a factory refurbished iMac from the Apple Online Store.
The specs from the online store said it was eligible for the up-to-date program.
Look at the second line under any of these refurbished Apple computers: Eligible for OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date Program
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac
Unfortunately, this unit did not come with a Mountain Lion redemption code.
It did come with 10.8 installed and then I was able to update to 10.8.2 which is fine.
The problem now, is that the Apple Store says I do not own a copy of Mountain Lion as it is not in my Apple ID in the store.
To reinstall Mountain Lion, they said I could use the recovery mode and didn't need Mountain Lion to show in my Apple ID.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
    The above will not work.
When I get to the point in the recovery mode, it asks me for my Apple ID and password.
I have contacted the up-to-date program and they told me my iMac is not eligible.
Well, the Apple website says it is.
See the refurbished items under "Qualifying Purchases" here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/
I then contacted Tech Support and they made a case number but told me to contact the Apple iTunes Store.
The Apple iTunes store told me they can't do anything and told me to contact the up-to-date program.
This seems to be a Circle Jerk as I keep getting the run around.
I contacted the up-to-date program again and they said my iMac was not eligible.
I contacted Tech Support and told them about the run around and told me to contact Customer Support.
Even with the help of customer support, the up-to-date program keeps telling them that my computer is not eligible but will not give any reasons.
In the old days, we used to get the discs with our new or refurbished computers. We own the OS X that came with the computer.
Now apparently, I don't own it and can't download it again for some reason.
Do I, or do I not, own a copy of Mountain Lion?
    If not, why not?
I realize it is only $19.99 but I don't think I should have to purchase it as every OS came with all the prior Apple computers I have purchased in the past.
Do the new computers come with a redemtion code for Mountain Lion and/or, does Mountain Lion show up in your purchases in the App Store on the new computer?

Your Mountain Lion came pre-installed as such it is not a separate product rather part of your computer purchase. You cannot download Mountain Lion from the App Store.
Did you register your computer after receiving it? That is generally the process by which the computer becomes associated with your Apple ID.
You have never owned the OS. You have always had nothing more than a license to use it. That is generally true for most of the software you have purchased.
If you want to purchase a copy of Mountain Lion from the App Store, then log into the store using a computer with Snow Leopard or Lion installed under your Apple ID. Purchase and download the Mountain Lion installer. When the download has completed, quit the installer. Put it in your Downloads folder or transfer to a USB flash drive for safekeeping.
Getting Mountain Lion via a redemption coupon lets you download Mountain Lion from the App Store. The license for the App Store version versus the one for the pre-bundled version is not the same. For example, the App Store version may be installed on more than one computer that you own. The pre-bundled version can only be installed on the computer with which it came.

i want to know if the new watch comes with a charger or is it an extra

From the store purchase page for the Sport version :

  • Does the new imac come with a cd/dvd player/burner?

Does the new imac come with a cd/dvd player/burner?

It's $80.00. You can buy other externals for less, I think, but only the Apple one will work with Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows and any other applications that will only work with an "internal" optical drive.
If this isn't important for you, then explore less expensive alternatives. Check out OWC for example.

  • Can I disable the fonts that come with iWork and iLife?

I use the most recently updated versions of Mavericks, Adobe CC and Fontxplorer.
When I am working in Photoshop, the list of fonts shows about 50 fonts that I never, ever, ever use. They come from iWork, iLife and the foreign language fonts that come with Mac. I suppose this is a minor problem, but it seems like something obvious that could be fixed.
Is there a way to either:
    a) Get Photoshop to hide those fonts
    b) Get Fontexplorer to hide those fonts from Photoshop
    c) Disable fonts like Blackmoor, Schoolhouse, (many others) and the 8 fonts that include the word "Sangnam"?
    THANK YOU.

    Thank you Tom.
I've found the foreign language fonts in Fontexplorer. That's great.
Now, as for the iWork and iLife fonts... some of them don't show up anywhere.
For example "Blackmoor" isn't in the system fonts list.
    Spotlight can't find it either....
But there it is, working, in the applications.

  • What software ver do new iphones come with

If i go buy an iphone in sept when the supposed release of 2.1 is due. Will it come wih 2.1 installled or all of the phones come with only 2.0 or 2.0.2 installed and we have to update them to the latest versions at home ?

It's difficult to guess what version an iphone purchased in the future will have. It is difficult to guess when the next update will be.
We likely will know next to nothing about 2.1 until it is released, whenever that may be.
To answer your question; it's anybody's guess.

  • Do new macbooks come with iLife 06 or 08???

Now, from the conference today, it sounded like they said all new macs would come with iLife 08, but I go on to purchase the macbook, and see it still says 06.
Am I missing something, or am I wrong, and it does not include macbooks?
    Message was edited by: Mig!

I just bought my first mac, a macbook pro, yesterday, at an apple store. The mac came with Tiger pre-installed and a drop-in disc of Leopard. Bundled with the Leopard disc were two other discs: OS disc 1 and 2. I had two install options with the Leopard: upgrade or clean. I chose clean because, well, it was a new computer so I figured there was nothing to save from the older OS. After install, I did not have any ilife features or the iwork trial. After lots of reading of postings on the discussion board, I finally figured out that these did not come w/Leopard as I had expected and that by choosing "clean", I erased the previous ilife versions.
I put in the extra OS disc 1, figured out that these were the Tiger OS discs, then chose bundled install package, selected only the ilife features(iweb, imovie, etc.) and the iwork '08 trial. I wasn't sure what I would get as far as the ilife features...if these would be ilife '08 or not. This install went fast. After install, I opened up the installed ilife applications and they were all ilife '08 versions. My mac was bought in Portland, OR, US.
I've seen all the posts that new macs would come with ilife '08 installed, and assumed that meant it would be there as part of the Leopard install. As a newbie to mac, I didn't really get what all this meant. I hope this clarifies for new mac users how to handle the Leopard/new mac/ilife '08 issue.

  • Does imac come with iWork installed

Do the iMac come installed with iwork

No. You have to buy the iWork apps separately if you want them. You can see what does come with a new iMac here:

What webtemplates comes with creative cloud subscription?

Dreamweaver CS6 comes with several starter pages or pre-built CSS Layouts for making 1 to 3 column fixed-width (px based)  or liquid (% based) web pages.  See screenshots below.
In addition to the starter pages above, DW CS6 also has support for jQuery Mobile and another new feature called Fluid Grid Layouts for making responsive web pages that are mobile & tablet friendly.

  • What is PINless comes with music activation ? Plea...

ok, so  the new firmware v30 gives Nokia N86 users the benefit of a so called PINless activation possibility for" comes with music" service. what is that and how to use it?? Thank you in advance
    nokia N80-->nokia N82-->nokia N86

Comes WIth Music PINs are not actually linked to the device IMEI.
The Comes With Music service used a database of the IMEI numbers of all phones sold as part of CWM packages, when you begin the process of creating a CWM account, a check is made via the internet that your IMEI is on the CWM database (this is why you cannot proceed with registration via PC unless you connect the phone by USB cable). Once the check is made, you have the choice to create a new account or add your CWM subscription to an  existing Nokia Music account. THe third and final stage is where the PIN number is requested.
Your device IMEI is validated well before you enter the PIN, the PIN is an additional security measure.
