What now Mr SnowyLeopard?

Today (sun oct 25 ) i purchased SnowLeopard ( at a drug store ) and installed it using an MacIntel ( Tiger 10.4x ) to an external FireWired Drive ( formatted as instructed ) successfully according to the installer.
Then the installer counts down. The restart goes and goes and goes until the circle with a no entry slash shows up on the screen. The installer disc is still in the slot.
What now ?
Re-install, take the Disc back to mother Apple or try this all over again when the next upgrade comes up?
Please please help.
I think I'll read the installation instructions just for something to do in the meantime.

I can't do an install to the internal drive because the MacIntell belongs to my wife and she does not want me "messing" her files or her hard drive. She only allows me to use her MacIntel to work of an external drive.
When I get the "green" check mark at the end of installation telling me the install is successfull the DVD has to stay in the drive so that on the restart you can now setup a user's "ownership". I've done many many OS X installs and never does the DVD spit out. It always stays in the drive until you go thru the final step in the installation which is to set up a user's "ownership".
Incidentally, as a matter of personal choice, I do not do builds of OS on top of OS. I have FW external drives of OS Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard, and hopefully Snow leopard.
I am going to phone apple tomorrow again and see what they say: sometimes they are not that knowledgeable: for example today the apple telephone rep said he's never heard or seen the circle with a slash thru it. Oh well you only get the kind of help for the price you pay.

Crashed meaning it will not start now? Try resetting the iPad and go from there.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

After deleting 17G of music files to make room on the 74G drive, The iPhoto and iWeb updates seemed to load okay, but the OS 10.5.8 update failed - message opened said the computer encountered an error and must shut down. Now I get the blue screen. Startup with 'V' pressed shows multiple lines saying: error-can't find IntelCPU Power Manager. What now?? I reset PRAM, I think.....?????

I am concerned that you might have applied a system updated intended for an Intel iMac, while you have a PPC (non-Intel) iMac. Your PPC OS should not be looking for an "IntelCPU Power Manager."
Have you tried booting from the 10.5 install DVD/CD and repairing the hard drive, plus repairing permissions?
If you done the repairs mentioned above, and your problem still persists, you can also try doing a safe boot. (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455 ) Then, if none of these things worked, if I were in your shoes (it's hard to diagnose these things without being there in person) I would first check that there is adequate disk space, then I would boot from the 10.5 DVD/CD install disk and reinstall the operating system. There is an option to do an archive and install preserving user files/settings, that would be the option you want, as it will save your files but install a new OS. Make sure you have a good backup of your files first. If you do not have one, use "target mode" to copy all your files before embarking on an new OS install. Assuming that you do succeed with this install, then use Software Update to get the right updates for your iMac.

Had same problem and solved it without having to reinstore any music or movies:
1. Delete old Library file
2. Go to the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and copy one of the earlier files - note, they have a date extension, e.g. 'iTunes Library 2011-11-01'.
3. Paste this file in your iTuners folder and rename file by removing the date extension - 'iTunes Library'
You should have all your music and paylists in tact, unless it was a really old previous file.

Mozilla was slow and i have reset it! Now, all my bookmarks are gone and when I try to recover it, it says not possible to process the file! WHAT NOW?

Today my Mozilla was slow and as the solution i was offered below is reset to its default settings and Mozilla would like to keep all the old data! Of course, that I did that and for a minute an unpleasant surprise!
No bookmarks, no history nor can add Bookmarks in the toolbar or the back button works (works with backspaceom) nor offers page while typing in adressbar.
I find a bunch of online tutorials recovery but nothing! Firefox is saved on the desktop folder "Firefox old data" but when I go importat says "file can not be prosecuted."
What now?
Bookmarksi are very important to me and I am now as one eye!
Now Mozilla is not remembering browsing history neither!
OS is W7 Pro 64

Ok, Below is what worked for me somewhat.
Okay ... try downloading and saving a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe to your PC from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now download a trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.php
Open the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR, and try to run the standalone install of Apple Application Support from the AppleApplicationSupport.msi you find in there.
It works now BUT there are still problems. It is not allowing or recognizing my Cd/DVD player and i CANT burn. Looking still for this fix.

Fallout75, good catch on the eXo plugin. To remove it, in the Finder click "Go" on the menu bar and pull down to "Go to Folder" and then type ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
When that Finder window opens, you should see an "eXo" subdirectory. Just delete that "eXo" folder and iTunes should start without the error.
