What % of iPhone users have upgraded to O.S. 3.0?

Is there any way to find out approximately what % of iPhone users have upgraded to O.S. 3.0?
I'm thinking of implementing an O.S. 3.0-only feature in my app, and am curious to know.
Thanks.

There's no single authoritative answer. There are at least three numbers to look at:
1) What's the latest number from Apple?
2) What's the consensus among developers who have both 2.x and 3.0 versions of their app in the Store?
3) What are big companies doing? Have they placed a 3.0-only app in the store yet? Or are they holding off? Note that while you are merely "curious", some companies have big investments at stake, so they may be going to considerable effort to find out the true numbers. Most probably don't intend to reveal their estimates, but their actions speak for themselves.
I would recommend Googling on keys like: +statistics percentage iphone 3.0+. When I did that, a good article came up at the top of the list: [http://surgeworks.com/blog/iphone/iphone-os-30-adoption-rates-how-many-iphone- and-ipod-touch-users-are-upgrading].
I think you need to do your own research and make your own guess. I would be doing you a dis-service by posting my best guess, since it would just be my interpretation of the raw info you can interpret just as well or better.

  • What percentage of users have the Flex 4 framework SWZ cached in their Flash Player?

I am trying to make the case that using Flex 4 with RSLs is more sensible than developing pure AS3 applications with no Flex or Spark at all. In the former case, file sizes are comparable to the latter, save for about 2 MB worth of RSLs. However, it seems logical that the vast majority of users will already have these assets cached.
    So I have three questions:
Are there any statistics on what percentage of users have these SWZ files cached already, and therefore won't need to download them at all?
Is there any way of determining, in my client-side code, when a user loads the file from the FP cache, as opposed to downloading it from my server?
Is there a performance difference, in terms of total load time, for loading a cached SWZ file, as opposed to simply embedding the framework and not using RSLs at all? Disregard bandwidth and downloading times.
I have heard that Adobe hasn't released any official statistics, but I'm wondering if anyone has done their own testing with server logging.

I don't know of any statistics.  It might also depend on the demographics of
    your users.
There is no way to determine for sure where the SWZ came from, but you could
probably guess by looking at getTimer() somewhere in your code.
Ignoring bandwidth and download, the SWZ has very little overhead, but it is
    there.

  • Mandatory UCSS for Public Space - What is the user license upgrade entitlement?

I'm facing a scenario where a customer is running CUWL 8.x and wish to add a large number of conference phones.
Along with the license L-PUB-IP-DEV-UWL the CCW tool auto-adds UCSS. This is a mandatory requirement, it cannot be removed.
However, the Public Space concept has been retired, so this implies that if they eventually try to move onto CUCM 10.x, leveraging their main UCSS contract, they would simply lose all their Public Space users. Is this correct?
My concern is that in spite of being forced to purchase a software upgrade subscription, our customer will never be able to do anything with it.
I was hoping that SWSS had been released but I have a feeling it will not be made available for these licenses.

    Thanks Aman.
A considerable decision is being made and I'm looking for supporting documentation. Do we have any link or PDF confirming the public space license would automatically convert to UCL with a major version upgrade?
Also what UCL does it upgrade to (presuming Enhanced)?
Enhanced UCL is about 30% more expensive than Public Space (at least in our theatre). Forgive my skepticism, but I am surprised that Cisco would automatically convert Public => Enh UCL for free. Why not everyone go out and buy Public Space licenses then do the upgrade if this is the case?
    Kind Regards,
    Ben.

  • Do iPhone users have to pay for AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots?

I'm wondering if since we all have AT&T now, with data plans, if we will have to pay for AT&T WiFi Hot Spots while using our iPhones (or otherwise).
    Anyone tried this out yet?

if you have dsl pro or above at home you get free wi fi hot spots see below
AT&T Wi-Fi service, powered by Wi-Fi technology, can connect you with public wireless high-speed Internet access at speeds much faster than dial-up when you're in a 150-foot range of our growing number of public hotspots — in airports, hotels, restaurants, and other convenient locations.
AT&T Wi-Fi Basic is Free to AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Pro, Elite, FastAccess® DSL Xtreme, Xtreme 6.0, and U-Verse customers, no ordering required. AT&T Wi-Fi Basic provides access to nearly 10,000 AT&T branded hotspots nationwide. Customers can login at the hotspots by entering their primary DSL or U-Verse account username and password.
To get started, customers can use a Wi-Fi enabled laptop, iPhone, or other Wi-Fi enabled device to connect at an AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spot. Customers can login through the hotspot's web page. Alternatively, use the AT&T Wi-Fi Connection Software for simple and easy connections with laptops at hotspots.
AT&T Wi-Fi supports Virtual Private Networking and personal firewalls, so you can surf and work securely.
Two ways to join, subscription or membership. Subscriptions are for AT&T customers who can bill through their telephone bill. Memberships are for anyone who chooses to be billed with a credit card.

  • Our company recently has changed our DNS settings to our network which has resulted in many of our iPhone users not being able to access Outlook mail on their phones.  Any ideas out there?

Our company has recently changed our DNS settings for our network mail server, and upgraded our SBS to 2010 Microsoft Exchange.  Since that change,  most of our iPhone users have not been able to acquire e-mail from our mail server.  We have three exceptions are 3GS and 4 phones.  Any ideas???

Speak to your exchange & DNS administrators at your company.
It is likely a configuration issue on the server/network side.  Event/IIS logs are key on your SBS.

  • Switched to android and not receiving txts from iPhone users

    Hello,
I recently switched from an iPhone 4 to an android.  I am not able to recieve texts from iPhone users who upgraded to the new IOS.  I have deleted my phone number from Apple ID.  I do not have my iPhone anymore.  I can't ask all my clients to delete my number and add me again or anything like that.  I need to do it on my end.  Any suggestions?

    1. Change the password of your Apple ID at appleid.apple.com
    2. Go to https://supportprofile.apple.com , log in with your Apple ID, then remove the iPhone from your support profile.
    3. Borrow another iOS device; log into iMessage with your Apple ID, then log out of iMessage.

I have an iphone 4s with ios7. Does it work with 4g? If not what i can do to upgrade it?

The version of iOS is irrelevant to 4G connectivity.
The iPhone 4S supports HSPA which is considered 4G by some carriers, it is NOT an LTE capable device.
If you want a device that supports LTE, you will need to upgrade to an iPhone 5 or newer.  LTE capability requires hardware that does not exist in the 4S or older iPhones.

    Hi
Yes you should be able too, this depends on the features on the phone but i would imagine something as new as the s5 would have this feature. However this would obviously be over standard sms rather than imessage.
    Hope this helps

iMessage requires data. You need to have an active internet connnection, either wi-fi or cellular. If you are not connected via wi-fi, then you would need a cellular data connection. If you do not have that, then you will not receive the iMessages. Either get the cellular data back, or remain connected to wi-fi, or you will have to disable iMessage and ensure that you have an SMS texting plan with your carrier.
