What OS will work with my eMac

I had bought this eMac off ebay, and just got it, it had a clean wiped hard drive, and I had bought a mac os x 10.0.3 disc, but every time I go to install it, it says that it had quit and hit enter to restart( Might be because it says "Instant up-to-date on the disc folder, didn't see it till I got it).Mac os 7.5 was available off the apple website, and I'm not so certain if this eMac will run it till I get something better.

Since you have a CD drive, you may have difficulty installing 10.4 unless you can find the Media Exchange Program version of Tiger. Installation discs you are looking for should look like:
* for 10.2 (Jaguar)
* for 10.3 (Panther)
* for 10.4 (Tiger)
They will not say Update or Dropin on them.
Your hard drive is minimal, so I'd recommend trying to find the Panther discs, as those offer you the most compatibility without any physical upgrades.
Tiger DVDs can be installed, but only with compatible Firewire DVD drives.
You'll also want the original installer discs that came with the Mac, if you want to install Appleworks, Mac OS 9, Classic, or any of the games that came with it, or diagnose it for hardware issues. The original seller should be able to give you those discs.

I was able to get an Apple Studio Display to work via the adapter in the Mac Mini box combined with that huge DVI to ADC adapter they had sold me years ago. In the Apple Store I really had to press them to assure me my display would work as they told me they'd charge me a re-stock fee if I had to bring the Mini back. I pressed the point that Apple should know if a monitor it made works with a computer it made. The rep asked around and we both searched the web and then she was able to confirm it would work. They really need a list of acceptable monitors. If anyone locates such a list, please let us all know!

I just cleaned the drive with a CD Lens cleaning kit, it looked like an ordinary CD but had two small brushes on it, a small amount of ethanol on the brushes, pop it in your superdrive, DVD's are now recognized
Was just a dirty laser, weird how it wrote CD's and not DVD's though, anyway, problem solved.

Most any USB keyboard will work with your Mac Mini.
I have been using a couple of Logitech MK120 - USB Keyboard & Mouse Combo's with iMac's and Mac Mini's for years.
The key funtions may very (the Command and Option keys are reversed and the Volume up & down keys may or may not work) depending on what keyboard you get.

I have a 10 year old Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) with OS 8.6 400mhz, 128 mb SDRAM. use Quark express graphic design software. I have a Canon i960 printer that I use with my G4 (USB connection) on both OS 9.2.2. & Tiger 10.4.11. I've had it since it was new & never had a clog, & I've printed thousands of color prints. I currently have Firefox 1.something on my aging Windows ME system. My e-mail provider recently upgraded and consequently, I need to be using at least verion 2.0 of Firefox. I downloaded the newest version, but get an error after the files have been extracted and the setup starts to run. Which version(s) of Firefox will work with Windows ME and from where can I download that version?

No. You should have just plugged in your printer and added it in the Printers & Scanners System Prefs without loading the CD at all.

I am just like the untold thousands who are having non-stop printing problems between my hp printer and Mac OS X.
I used 10.3.9 and had non-stop printer problems. Did all the usual: uninstall, get latest driver, fix permissions, yada yada.
I just upgraded to 10.4.5. I was SO looking forward to the many fixes that would inherently come along with a modern OS. Well...the computer sleeps now without crashing, that is nice. I like dashboard. Computer seems to run a bit smoother.
Printer still won't work most of the time. Prints on occasion, locks up, sometimes pushing restart printing ad nauseum will help.
Ok, I'm just gonna admist defeat after reading multiple posts on here, recognizing that OS X is bugged where many printers are concerned.
Here's my question: I would like a printer that works. Any recommendations on a printer, color, laser, or otherwise, that prints without problems with OS X? Are there any printers that are recognized as basically compatible with OS X and don't have all these obvious problems?

Here's what I mean by that statement...
so much of the workarounds I saw in posts where frustrating repeatable efforts; must be repeated to keep the printer working.
I am just tired of dealing with it. If I can get some help to make it work, that would be great.
If I have to do this and that every few days to keep it maintained and working, I will go ahead and make the darn thing work with my (dare I say it on here) PC. I'm about to the point of connecting the printer to the PC and just letting the apple sit without a printer. Seems blaspemous to me though...and a shame...he he

What interface will work with Intel MacBookPro?

I just got a replacement from Apple for the first MBP I bought earlier this year which was defective. I really like this one, but as I use it for audio recording professionally (voice over auditioning and want to use it for ISDN later), I have heard that there are many compatibility issues with the 15" Core2Duo MBP ---interfaces which will not workcorrectly. Is anyone here using similar equipment as I have with success? I am now using a Sennheiser 416 ,a Samson mixer,an imic into the USB port which does work--but I want to be able to get the value from the Sennheiser so need a better audio interface. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Are your virtual instruments loaded on, and streaming off, this external drive?
Just curious, because TC Electronic's Support Dept. wrote me a response to that same question and said that set-up was unlikely to work with the new MacBook Pro Core 2 Duos. Here's the quote (typos and all -- I just copied and pasted):
"with regards to the available bandwidth of the Firewire standard, it depends what you do with it. If your HD is just connected for backup reasons it should work. If you use it for streaming lots of samples for virtual instruments or many audiofiles, you might run into issues. Same i you use other Firewire devices on top.
On our G4 notebook we have here in support i can run the Konnekt together with a Powercore FIWI without any issues.

Not exactly. Though they are not listed on the BB website yet, some stores already a have new assortment of laptops for sale now.
I just saw a quad-core HP with ATI graphics selling for $1299. I also peeped at least one new Toshiba and Asus model with enough spunk to play this game.
The OP should wait for there local store to get in these units. It won't be much longer.

I plan to order the Apple Component Video cables so I can watch the Netflix apps movies on my TV.
I know this app works with the cables but what else does?

Thanks. I did order it and it arrived yesterday. I have not done a lot but watched a couple things
with the Netflix app and I am very pleased.
The cable is only about 6 feet so I had to extend it but other than that I am pleased. Luckily, I already
had a 10' cable in the basement with connectors so now I can have my iPad where it usually is and
control things more easily.
A few more apps that work with it would be nice though. :>
