  • Can the iBook G4 support photoshop elements 6?  My operating system is upgraded to 10.5.6 but is not on pentium processor.

Can the iBook G4 support photoshop elements 6?  My operating system has been upgraded to 10.5.6.
    Thanks, Sheila

I just realized I need 64MB of VRAM for elements 6 and I only have 32MB.  Does that mean elements 6 would not be compatible?

  • Can the standard program RFBIBL00 be run as a background job ?

    Hi all,
Can the standard program RFBIBL00 be run as a background job for the call transaction mode.
As I tried I got the job cancelled with message"Job RFBIBL00: Data does not match the job definition; job terminated".
As i run it in foreground it executes properly.
Why is it failing in background? Please help.
    Thanks ,
    Stock

    Hi,
You need to copy the program RFBIBL00 & modify the program to build the logic to upload through application server. Then schedule the modified program in background & it wl work.

  • What type of motors can the Robot Daughter Module take?

The Technical Documentation for the Robot Daughter Module states that
the Robot Daughter Module will aspect up to four motors. Would you
please give some insight to what type of motors the Robot Daughter
Module was designed to take? Where they standard 540 CAN R/C motors? If
so how many turns and what winding where they?

The brand new Macs have Firewire 800, which looks like this (the end pictured on right):
    http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=firewire+800+cable&oe=utf-8&rls=org.moz illa:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=5318739987051716 416&sa=X&ei=OvvvTrzlIY7WiAL5yPzQDg&ved=0CJEBEPICMAA
So, you need a 4 to 9 pin which the link above shows. If you have an older iMac with Firewire 400, then you'd need the 6 pin, which looks like this (also on right):

  • Give it to me straight -- Can the new Quad Core iMac run Maya well?

Hey all, I've been hunting around the interwebs for reviews of the new 27 inch quad core machine and I'm having a heck of a time tracking down specifics regarding iMacs and their ability to run Maya, After Effects, other adobe programs, etc.
I'm a student right now, going on four years. I own a small graphic design/animation business and I'm afraid my poor little Macbook Pro is going to keel over on me any day now. I've noticed a drop in performance in the last six months, especially with Maya and After Effects. So I've been evaluating options, and I know it has to run OSX. Windows has only given me headaches in regards to Maya work. In short, it's gonna be a Mac.
I've priced out a Mac Pro, and I'd rather not spend 3 grand on a machine that doesn't have a monitor, and may have properties that I'm paying for that I don't necessarily need: monstrous expandability, server capabilities, a big-stinking CPU footprint. But the mantra I always hear is "Only pro models can run Maya". So I reluctantly began putting away money for a new Mac Pro, uncertain if I'd be able to afford the software to go with it. Then I read this article:
    http://gizmodo.com/5411073/why-its-gotten-straight-stupid-to-buy-a-mac-pro
In my mind, this article couldn't be more perfect for my position. It's telling me, "These high end iMacs are almost as powerful as the Mac Pro you can't afford. You can save a thousand bucks off the base computer. It comes with a monitor that you don't have to pay for. " But unfortunately the one question I need answered, that I'm having a heckuva time tracking down is "Can the stinking thing run Maya or can't it?" And if it can, will it be crippled?
So, please, anyone out there, can the new monster iMac run Maya, and if it can, does it suck at it?

No, there's no way to talk to Apple technical support via email, and they probably could not or would not be able to answer any questions about performance with third-party products. I doubt that more than a handful of Apple employees, sales rep or tech, would have access to any benchmark data on Maya with any model of Mac, and those Apple people would probably be those working with the Pro VAR channel or directly with large production companies.
I just got off the phone with an Apple sales associate who emphatically confirmed that the i7 iMac can run "all that Adobe stuff", but she'd never heard of Maya.... fun....
Not terribly surprising; Maya is pretty specialized and the Apple Store phone reps are generalists working mostly with consumers. Most people running Maya would be working with an Apple VAR or would otherwise have access to specialists. You might try talking to an Apple Pro Video/Film VAR - there are a number around the country though none in Salt Lake, apparently - or asking in the Autodesk forums:
    http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/
If you search for "iMac", you'll find some comments, though none I can find yet regarding performance with the new iMac models. But if you post asking if anyone has experience with Maya on the i7, you might get useful responses.
    Regards.
    P.S.
And on top of that I can't buy a 27 inch display separately
Well, you can, and they're not terribly expensive; under $400.00. But that might be more than your budget could accept, which may be what you meant. I'd elect a smaller primary monitor and go with two displays in any case, even with an iMac. I find it much better for workflow to have a monitor for the primary canvas and a separate one for tool palettes, etc.

  • Can the 21.5 inch imac run the new final cut

I am going to be selling my g5 and using part of that money to purchase a 21.5 inchimac, my question is can the new imac run final cut and all its components with no problem. Does it really make a difference which version (graphics card) I get with the imac....and would I be better going with a macbook pro....and if I did get the macbook pro would it have to be the biggest one. thanks

Go to Apple's Website, look at the specs for the iMac. Then go to the Final Cut Studio page on their site, and look at the system requirements. If they meet, then yes. If not, then no.

  • While configuring a 2nd Essbaseserver to SS can the 1st one be up & running

    Hi,
While installing and configuring a new(second one) essbase server to an existing Shared services database which already has an essbase server(1st one) registered to it, can the 1st one be up and running or does it have to be shut down. Also is there any other precaution to take note of while doing this. Thanks in advance.
    Ted.

It shouldn't matter whether it is running or not, personally I like to have things stopped when configuring but that is just my preference.
    Cheers

  • Why don't we show up in the "what's new" section of the iBook store?

We published our first book but it doesn't show up under the "what's new" section of our category. Any ideas why not? The books that are showing up were added ages ago. :(

Yes, I'm wondering that too. I finally got my book up and running. It's called, "Japanese Foundation Level 1". Its in the textbooks section. It would be great if I can find it in the "What's New" section. That would make my day. :-)

  • Can the 4th gen iPod Touch run the same apps as iPhone 4?

I am sorry, I'm not much informed about stuff like this, so I'm pretty much a noob.
I got my eye on the new iPod Touch, especially because it is (from what I've read) an iPhone 4 without the phone and the GPS and a somewhat slightly inferior camera and display. I like the iPhone, too, of course, but the price is something that is really important to me, so it's iPod Touch for me.
I read about all the new features for the new iPod, such as games and other apps, but I'm wondering - can it run the same games apps as the iPhone?
From the fact they operate on the same OS and that they're very similar hardware wise (same processor) I concluded that they can run the same apps, but as I never seen it officially and as there only "iPhone apps" on iTunes store (not iPod Touch apps) I got the impression that might not be true.
So I am asking here now, does the latest iPod Touch run the same apps (games etc.) as the latest iPhone? And can I run the iPhone apps I buy from the appstore on the iPod Touch 4th gen?
I am sorry for my uninformativeness and I thank you in advance.

Most of the iPhone apps will work the same way on the 4G iPod as they do on the phone. However, other that rely on the specific feature unique to the phone may install but will not work well if at all. The App Store should identify the system/device requirements.

  • What does it mean when the message says " Firefox is running but not responding, in order to use Firfox, close open progams or restart your computer

I can not find Mozilla or Firefox on the taskbar as open programs so I can not close it? . I end up re starting mu computer .?? What am i doing wrong?
    thanks for your help

It is often possible to find and kill processes even if not on a taskbar. You will be looking for firefox.exe . I use Windows XP pro and could use the Taskkill command or TaskManager, other OS will have similar facilities .

Another [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/770309 thread] suggests deleting profile.ini may solve similar problems, in some cases (but be careful; you are likely to loose information)
