What package is sgen in?

Hi folks,
I'm trying to find out what package the generic scsi driver (sgen) is
in for Solaris 8 on Intel.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreicated.

Hi,
sgen is in SUNWcsr in Solaris 8; you can grep for this in the package contents file.
When packages are installed in Solaris with pkgadd, the contents file (/var/sadm/install/contents) gets updated with details of the files added by the package.

I am trying to find out what Package the classes XMLNode and XMLInterface are located in. Is there a way to search for a class to find out what package it is held in ?
Quite often I see example code but spend wore time working out what package the class is in than actually writing code. Am I being really stupid ? (Don't answer that !!)

you can find the class path by searching the $JAVA_TOP directory.
Login to apps server.
cd $JAVA_TOP
find . -name "Classname.class"

Import com.sun.j3d.loaders.Scene - no longer compiles - what package?

import com.sun.j3d.loaders.Scene -- this line compiled back in 2002, but is not supported under the current Java Development Package. Does anyone know the replacement package? I installed Java3D and JDIC, but my compiler still complains of an error. I read that JDIC got moved to org.jdesktop, but I tried
import org.jdesktop.j3d.loaders.Scene -- this did not work either. Can someone tell me what package I need to include in my class path to get my compiler to recognize loaders.Scene?

Nevermind this post. I added my vrml97 package to the runtime library, but I forgot to add it to the compile library. Oops.

What packages to install, and how to install in an USB hard drive

Hello.
Well, as I said in another thread, I want to install in an USB hard drive. But I don't know how, because it hasn't graphical installer, but text installer. I tried in a virtual machine, and it was fine, but when I want to start it, an error appears, "Was not found a bootable system" or something. Maybe a VM is not as a computer, but... well. I didn't change anything while I was installing GRUB, and I know that I've to install it in /dev/sdb.
And I want to know too, what packages to install and what packages don't (the ones which are neither "base" nor "base-devel"). But I'll install sudo, links and ndiswrapper (for wifi).

As to your question about which packages you'll need beyond those in base and base-devel - that depends on what you want on your system... no one can answer that but you!

I have installed the "core installation" of solaris on un sun sparc server.
This not included SSH deamon.
I want to install a server with just the package needed to run. its called "hardening OS".
So i need to know what packages of Solaris 9 i need to make work SSH deamon on this server.
I have already added those packages, but its seams more needed :
SUNWsshcu SSH Common, (Usr)
SUNWsshdr SSH Server, (Root)
SUNWsshdu SSH Server, (Usr)
SUNWsshr SSH Client and utilities, (Root)

I screwed something up. what package is mount in?

I have lost the mount and umount binaries, so archlinux is fuked coz it cant mount on startup or umount on shutdown... I can chroot in and use pacman I guess, but what package contians mount and umount?
I guess I lost them after doing a pacman -Syu then it failed getting pciutils and something else, said file not found... so I ctrl-c and then mount was gone...

Solaris 10 include files? what package?

Two parts to this...
1. I downloaded the Solaris 10 8/07 CDs and burned them. I started installing and when it asked for CD3 and CD4, and I inserted them, the % meter jumped from 1 to 100 and it appeared that nothing was installed from those two. I selected "Everything" or "All" or whatever from the package selection screen. I was in text mode if this matters.
2. Main question: what package contains the /usr/include/ *.h files? I've got gcc installed and working but I can't compile anything. What SUNW* package are these in?

At a minimum, SUNWhea. But other packages may be necessary as well.

How to tell what packages have recently run

Occasionally, after start up, I'll see something that looks like a package that quickly runs. I have no idea where to look for information to figure out what ran. I've ran searches trying to find out how to tell what packages have recently run but have not found anything useful. If anyone knows or has any ideas on what I can do to figure that out, I'd love the help.

You are welcome. Based on my experiences, the only time I look at Console is when something is not working. You could get overly engrossed trying to figure out what everything means.

What package gives access to BBC1 HD, ITV1 HD Etc.

Can any one here confirm what package I need to see BBC1 HD. I pay for the entertinment package not the HD package (£7 per month) and I have infinity broadband. I have found on BT website that as well as 18 extra channels, the entertainment pack includes channels 101 - 107 BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD, ITV1 HD, Channel 4 HD etc. I cant get any of these channels when this is why i took the package but i can see the other channels in the pack. I have spent the last three nights on the phone to technecal support trying to resolve this problem and now they are saying i need to speak to sales. Can anyone with just the entertainment pack tell me if they get BBC 1 HD.

If you are on a BT Vision+ box.
Check Help & Settings > Settings > Entitlement Information
You need the 'PSB HD' entitlement which should be included for free.
e.g. Here are my current entitlements.
If you are on a BT Youview+ box.
The PSB HD channels the tuners pick up will depend on your location and aerial set up.

If you have UK mobile number then you would need a UK subscription that covers landlines and mobiles.

There are 2 tabs, make sure you pick the subscription from "Landlines and Mobiles" tab.
Important is that the number where you forward your calls is covered by your subscription.
Note: Unlimited Europe and Unlimited World don't cover UK mobile numbers.

sounds like a silly question but when i placed order i realised it was wrong package so emailed and spoke to someone about changing to BT Talk and Surf Unlimited , got email saying this would be done , but when hub arrived it had no phone and when i tried to download netprotect it said i could only download once as i only had opption 1 , phoned they said it had been changed and would show on system today , phoned today and it hadent , girl i spoke to prossesed it and i got email saying thank you for order and will b completed by 24 may , , so not sure whats gouing on and i will need the phone
