Yes, it definitely works with Leopard's Mail 3.0.
It definitely also works better than Tiger's junk mail protection. As I switched over to it about 6 months ago, I cannot say if Leopard has improved their junk mail protection.

It can use Growl notification too, but I am pretty sure Growl and Mail 3.0 don't work together yet.
SpamSieve has an icon that sits on the dock. If you don't like it there, read the help page for SpamSieve, and it will tell you how to turn it off.
There is this British site that does these like instructional Mac videos. You have to be a subscriber to the site to see some of them, but they have one on SpamSieve if you didn't want to install it to see what it is like.

Regardless of whether or not you 'like' downloading and installing software on your computer, Canon DOES HAVE software available for your specific camera and it IS compatible with recent versions of the Mac OS X operating system. Maybe try that instead of whining here about it not being compatible.

Hi i need to run garageband on a powerpc imac g5 from like 2007 i think(not sure about the year) it has OSX 10.5.8 and a 2.1g processor thing. I am not too good with computer details and whatnot. All i need to know is what is the latest version of garage band that my mac will run and will it be free? i know that recently garageband became free but will that apply to older versions as well? and where can i find the older veresion? can i have a link? thanks

How do I tell what Plug-Ins are installed on Safari?

The Settings > Safari menu on the iPhone has a switch to turn Plug-Ins on and off, but is no link on the menu to display which Plug-Ins are installed. Is there another way to view/manage Safari Plug-Ins on the iPhone?

Thanks for the confirmation. I tried browsing the local file that would normally display the plug-in information in the full desktop version of Safari, but the handheld version throws a message that it can't display local files.
It would be nice if there were information on line regarding what plug-ins are installed. I can see how they would want to keep tight control over installation and updates, but it would be nice to know what the unit will not work with. Lack of .swf support has already been discovered to be an issue.

I have DVD Studio Pro 4 and I need to know what video formats are compatible in the program? I made an .m2v file but its too large to fit even on a DL DVD so I need to drop the .m2v file into Mpegstreamclip and convert it to something else and decrease the size so then I can drop it back into DVDSP and burn it. Any help with this? What are formats supported in DVDSP? Or, is there another way around my problem (too big of a file)?? Thanks!

Can you make the audio AC3? That may put you under.
Also keep in mind that if the 2 hour 2 minute movie is that large in file size, it means it probably was encoded at a high rate which can cause issues (you can try to re-encode the m2v in a couple of ways if needed)

my question; what dvd drives are compatible for an equium a60 (psa67e-001001en)?
background; i did a very silly thing! whilst i was in japan and about 18 months after purchasing my a60 in the uk, the dvd drive packed up. i replaced it with a teac dvd drive and it worked like a dream! i threw the old drive away (i think it was a matsu****a, but can't remember the exact model). anyway, i came home and had a bit of spare time on my hands so i decided to tweak my machine and corrupted the windows xp registry.
Now the windows xp runs in a loop, i can't get access to it and i need to wipe the hard drive and start again basically. i put the recovery disk in, but the computer doesn't read from it and frustratingly finds its way to the loopy windows. i have determined that it is not recognising the teac drive that i used to replace the old one. i think if i put an original type back in, the firmware may recognise the drive and i'll be back in business.... or so i hope!
of course, any other advice would be gratefully received too! thanks.
work around??? ps... a work around i thought up... copy the contents of the recovery disk on to a hard drive (using my old computer) then swap the current hdd in my a60 with it... theory; when the computer finds the contents during booting, it will install xp on another part of that hard drive and i'll have a working machine again. could something like that work???????? any thoughts????

as it turns out, that pioneer drive rung bells.
though my TEAC (DV-w28e) replacement looks identical to my previous drive and has worked ok with windows, at "the bios level" it is not being recognised... is that something you would have expected???? i must admit, with windows, the TEAC outperformed the original drive and was surprised it wasn't reading my recovery disk after my self infliction! i also tried using a usb hdd loaded up with the recovery disk and that didn't work.

You can possible get a used one for $30-$50 on Craig's List or eBay. Be sure & get one with the laptop mount. The first versions only came with a table mount.

Why are you asking? Are you planning to upgrade?
The current version 10.0.1 is is a very different application from the previous GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5.
The new GarageBand 10.0.1 is a bit of a mongrel - half Logic and half GarageBand. It brought new terrific features, like the Arpeggiators and smart Drummers, but other great features of GarageBand '11 have been dropped., no more podcast tracks, and you cannot any longer combine the effects freely.
If you decide to ugrade to GarageBand 10.0.1, make sure, not to delete the previous version. You may want to use both versions in parallel.They are compatible.

2.     what hardware do I need PreSonus/M-AUDIO have no idea what brand or keyboard pro keys
I will be recording my guitar, Vocals( have a XLR mic) and some type of keyboard is M-AUDIO PROKEYS SONO 88 any good?

I think these days, any mac will do. Personally, I'd want to get one with Firewire since the interfaces I'd want to use are all firewire (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions), and Thunderbolt isn't quite there yet with peripherals.
If your music goals are more ambitious, you might weigh higher-end options, but in terms of basic garagebanding around, any current mac should work fine.
M-Audio makes a variety of good keyboard controllers. I like the ones with at least a semi-wieghted keyboard like the Axiom series, or their fully weighted keyboards. I've got a keyboard background so the key action is important to me.

Best is if you can feel the actual keyboard to see if you would be happy with it. If you've had a piano background, you'll probably want a better physical action than the cheapest synth actions. However, if you're just getting started, that might be fine. Outside of the keyboard itself, M-Audio controllers work well, and offer good bang for the buck.

A lot depends on your budget. If you're just starting you can get away with something for around $100 or so. Double or tripple that for better quality. Add a zero for something even more substantial. Firewire is generally better, although RME makes a great USB interface now although it's pricey. A lot of the less expensive USB interfaces are widely used and popular, presonus, m-audio, motu, mackie, etc. The good thing about the Sweetwater site is you can see what other people seem to be buying these days.
