What port should iCloud mail be on on my mac

what server port should iCloud mail be on on my mac and what should the incoming mail server address be?

All depends on your TV and what inputs it has available. You will need Mini Display to either HDMI, DVI, or VGA. You will also need an audio cable for sound.

  • What port should my email be set on?

What port should my Mac mail be set on?  Mine says "995" but my email provider at Comcast states other settings such as  "587" or "465".

I did --that is where they said "587" or "465" but they don't state whether they are incoming, outgoing or whatever.  Do I change the number on the Mac Mail port to one of those numbers?  Maybe I will just email Comcast & ask them.  Thanks

    Thanks and Regards,

    Thanks, Ravi.
The environment I am working now won't allow me to guess and test. We are on the project and to submit a change request would take very long. So I need submit all neccessary ports correctly at one time.
Could anybody give me any suggestion? I read the TCP/IP ports for SAP documentation. But I don't think it can answer my questions above.

  • Whats wrong with icloud mail???

    whats wrong with icloud mail???

Does for me, so like I already said, if you're expecting any help, you'll have to be more specific.
Just saying it "doesn't work" is useless if trying to troubleshoot your problem.
    What EXACTLY doesn't work?
    sending or receiving, or both?
sending or receiving from an iOS device?
sending or receiving from the icloud.com website?
sending or receiving from a desktop email client?
    logging on at icloud.com?
if using a desktop email client, which one, on which platform?
do you get any error messages?
if so, what do the error messages say?
if you're using icloud.com, what version of what browser are you using?
what have you done so far to troubleshoot the issue (apart from saying "doesn't work)?

  • Now with iCloud mail, do I delete my Mac and Me Mail accounts on my devices?

My computer and Iphone had email accounts for Mac mail and Mobileme (I think they are duplicates when mac changed to me and I just left them).
Now with Icloud uploaded and configured for all my devices, it appears that both accounts are there but one appears never to be connected and they both quite often ask for my password in that pop up window. So my questions are.
    1. Can I eliminate (delete) one from my Mac Laptops? Which one if the answer is yes.
    2. On my Iphone: there is only an Icloud and Mac mail accounts (mobileme never came over). Should I keep both?
Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated as its a bit confusing as to how it all ties together.
    Skip

iCloud uses your mac mail account.  If you haven't already done so, here is the sequence to follow:
    1. If you have a Mac, upgrade it to 10.7.2.
    2. Upgrade any iDevices to 10.5
    3. Go to iCloud.com and follow the process to transfer your mail account to iCloud.
It sounds like you've done most of that.  The rejected password issue is due to the fact that iCloud is experiencing some intermittant growing pains problems.  It kind of comes and goes.  If you've managed to connect once, your solid.  Just be a little patient as the iCloud mail service usually comes back fairly quickly.

  • What are the iCloud mail servers?

i just switched from the mac mail to microsoft office outlook. its much easier but i cant seem to get my icloud email set up. i dont know if i am getting the server names wrong or what. i have tried several different servers, but everyone gives me an error message saying something different every time. i just want to be able to view all of my email together on outlook if anyone can help.
    Thanks

Hello..I googled your error message and found this exchange:
n the end, simply changing the iCloud password did the trick.
I kept getting authentication errors for my .mac iCloud account in Oulook 2011 on my iMac i7 for the past few weeks (since late November 2011). However, Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Air worked perfectly, even though all the Outlook settings were exactly the same on both computers. I tried all the settings in this discussion group and many others, including Apple's official settings (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864). I even called Microsoft Support, and they said I had to call Apple, since they were the source of the problem. What worked for me was simply changing my password for iCloud. My password was iCloud compliant to begin with, but changing it allowed Outlook 2011 to work with my iCloud account on my iMac. I saw this suggestion from someone who said his iCloud password was not compliant with Apple's requirements.  Hopefully this will help others still experiencing problems with their iCloud accounts and Outlook 2011.

  • What ports should be open for mac-pc chat?

So we've finally got our cams to work with cross-platforming (thanks to sandra and ralph). Now I still have a little bit of problems. I cannot hear him, tho he can hear me, and for some reason, sending/receiving files seem to be hard with most of my buddies. Can someone out there who can do all of these things tell me that optimal ports that they have open? That would be wonderful!

Whenever there is no audio at your end, but the PC user on the other end has a mic and can hear you, the PC user should try "tuning" the preferences for his camera and / or Mic. That may resolve the problem.
To find the setting, he must click on the Preferences menu option that becomes available after he clicks on the Setup icon near the bottom of the AIM 5.9 Buddy List Window.
Once he sees the Preferences, he needs to drop down the list, and click on "Live Video." In the new window that opens, click the button that says "Tuning Video and Audio." Follow the instructions in the wizard that opens.
Some PC users report that they need to reboot their PC after tuning to make the changes effective. Some also have reported that they must re-"Tune" whenever they make ANY camera or mic change, even as simple as unplugging and later plugging the same item back into their PC.
Can someone out there who can do all of these things tell me that optimal ports that they have open?
Your PC pal should see the AIM® Video IM - Frequently Asked Questions for info on setup and router configuration at his end.

  • HT5390 What port should i forward in the router if I'm to connect to the mac server behind NAT?

I am trying to remote administrate a Mac Mini running Mac 10.8 server but couldn't figure out which port to use.
Tried the following but still woudn't connect unless DMZ is opened.
    Remote Login (SSH) - 22
Screen Sharing Service (VNC) - 5900
    Web Service - 80, 443
    VPN Service (L2TP) - 500, 1701, 4500
    VPN Service (PPTP) - 1723
    Any clue?

When you say administer, do you mean something like control your parent's Mac remotely, or do you mean officially adminster a classroom full of Macs?  If a classroom full of Macs, then you are most likely taking about using the Apple Remote Desktop software which you pay for.
If, as I suspect, you just want to control your own or a family member's Mac remotely, then you do not need to pay for anything.
If you need Screen Sharing, you open port 5900 (the VNC port)
If you need File Sharing, you open port 548 (AFP)
If you need access to the Unix command line, or you want to use the ssh 'scp' or 'sftp' file transfer commands, then you need to open port 22.
Visit <http://PortForward.com>, they will provide port forwarding instructions for just about every home router out there.
I would also suggest you get a free dynamic DNS name so you can address the remote Mac by a constant name instead of having to know the current IP address assigned to the home router, which the ISP can change anytime they want.  No-IP.com or DynDNS.org offer free dynamic DNS names.  You run one of their dynamic DNS updating clients on the remote Mac to keep the dynamic DNS name updated with the current ISP assigned IP address.
Once you have the port forwarding working, you connect for screen sharing using
    Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server -> vnc://address.of.remote.mac
    and for file sharing
    Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server -> afp://address.of.remote.mac
If you are going to use ssh, scp, or sftp, then from an Applications -> utilities -> Terminal session you would do something like:
    ssh [email protected]
    scp local.file [email protected]:/path/where/to/put/the/file
    scp [email protected]:/path/of/file/to/get   /local/place/to/put/the/file
There are also sftp GUI clients you can use to make this part easier.
If you really cannot get this working, then consider using something like TeamViewer.com which deals with all the messy home router NAT navigation.

  • HT1277 what settings for iCloud in mail OS X 10.5

My Mac Mail has stopped receiving  .Mac Mail. It was a MobileMe account that has been moved to iCloud. MobileMe IMAP server is rejecting the password. All other e-mail accounts work OK. Help!!

Did you sign up for an iCloud account?
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password

    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com

  • What are settings for iCloud mail smtp and imap OS 10.7.5?

message is could not connect to this icloud IMAP server. verify you entered the correct info in the account preferences.  Says the same thing on SMTP server.

    Hello,
Check if Mail is changing imap.mail.me.com to old mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to old smtp.me.com.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
        •    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 993

        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

  • Icloud mail client not working properly

mail client does not replicate mail from icloud quickly AND unable to send mail from local client - am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm, iCloud eMail part should work fine on PPC in 10.5.8, even 10.4.11, & 10.3.9
    Is this how it's setup?
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.

  • SCCM 2012 What Ports Do I need to open so DMZ servers can communicate with my SCCM Server?

    Hi,
What ports do I need to open in the firewall so my DMZ servers can talk to my SCCM server on the network?
Here are my steps before to make my DMZ servers talk to my SCCM server:
    1.  On my SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 I have bounderies installed --> I install SCCM Client on my DMZ server with the appropriate switches --> I go back to my SCCM server to approve the server --> Works
But now my DMZ servers stops getting definition updates from my SCCM server and I was suggested that it is much easier to open ports in DMZ.
Now, could you please tell me what ports should we open to ensure two way communication among servers?
    Thanks!

Yes and no. It's a bit muddy at times.
For Internet based clients, putting an Internet-enabled MP in the DMZ is perfectly acceptable because Internet clients will only choose MPs enabled for Internet communication.
For systems in the DMZ, that's where it really gets muddy. There's no perfect way to accomplish this. IMO, DMZ clients should be allowed to go back to the MP/DP in the Intranet with a targeted opening in the DMZ firewall rules that allows them to only go
to the internal MP. That's a security policy question though for your organization.
Another option is to treat the clients in the DMZ as Internet only clients. This way, they will only go to the Internet MP in the DMZ. You do lose some functionality though like Remote Control.
A final way is to actually put an MP/DP in the DMZ and deal with the timeout's that happen when clients try to talk to the MP in the Intranet. Clients will try 5 times to contact that MP before giving up. They try to find a new MP at the following times
    (which are not configurable):
    - Every 25 hours
    - WHen the client detects a network change
    - When the client agent starts
