  • Video capture with Sat Pro M70: What ports and leads can I use?

I want to edit my home movies on my Sat Pro M70 using WXP Pro (win dvd or movie maker). I want to capture the video from my panasonic camcorder which has digital tapes. what ports can I use and what leads do I need? I am desperate to edit my recent wedding video to put onto DVD and post to my mum. The panasonic website has been ignoring me! Any advice anyone ??

Well, as far as I know this unit has only an S-video out port. In this case you can connect the notebook to the TV and watch the picture from notebook on TV but its not possible to receive any signals from TV or any other device on notebook.
To receive the signals you need a composite port or an s-video in port.
However, if the camcorder has a firewire port so you can send the digital files thru the firewire connection. But this should only works with digital files which are saved on the camcorder.

  • What port and location to be used in composite.xml

I am trying to use the port and location of a service which is not deployed due to enviornment set up problem. So, now I have set the port and location as null. Can I use some value to compile my composite.

You can definitely compile your composite.
Inside "reference" tag of your composite, there would be another tag with the name "binding.ws", which would have two attributes - port and location.
You can give value for port attribute and compile your composite.
This value would be something of this format : <port target Namespace>#wsdl.endpoint(<service name attr>/<port name attr>)
    Hope it helps.

When I'm connected to wi-fi at home, I'm unable to locate my ipad, but on open wi-fi (public wi-fi) I can locate my ipad.
I guess it has something to do with my router secutity/outgoing port exclusion etc.  or with my ISP.

  • What ports do LWAPP AP's use to talk to the controllers.

Upon boot what ports and protocols are used for the
LWAPP AP to find the Controller.
What we are trying to do is, If we have an AP on a
vendor site in which we have a Site to Site VPN connection.
Can we get the AP connected and have a device on the vendors site connect to our network?
    Thanks for the Help.
    Pete

If you are running version 5.1 or earlier the packets are encapsulated in LWAPP so the ports are UDP 12222 or 12223.
If you are running version 5.2 or later the protocol changed to CAPWAP which uses UDP ports. 5246 and 5247.
For mobility the controllers use UDP 16666 to talk to eachother and IP Protocol 97 to tunnel the client's traffic if tunneling is needed.

  • Exchange 2010 Required Communication (Firewall Ports and Protocols)

Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but a search did not give me much on my scenario.
We currently have one Forest with multiple Domains and Child Domains. We have two departments that have Exchange 2010 running and control their own individual users and mailboxes inside their Domains. These two Exchange servers communicate with each other
    just fine.
We now have a department (another domain) that needs control of their own Exchange 2010 server, but here is the catch. They are behind a Firewall. My question is, what Ports and Protocols do I need opened for the Exchange server behind the Firewall to properly
communicate to the two other Exchange servers knowing that the Exchange Environment is  a Forest wide activity.
At this point in time, we cannot get Exchange installed as the prereq check fails with an error that we need to prep the AD schema for Exchange, but we know this has been done since we have to other servers in the Forest.
Perhaps we need ports not only opened to the two other exchange servers, but also the Forest Root controller?
    Any help is appreciated.

Exchange needs to be able to fully access all other Exchange servers, Active Directory Domain Controllers, and Active Directory Global Catalogs. Additionally, if I remember correctly, there was a blog from the Exchange team a couple of years ago that said
Exchange wasn't supported with firewalls between the various Exchange servers in the environment.
I will ask one question - why aren't you centralizing your Exchange management and servers, and granting rights to these groups for their mailbox management (based on an Organizational Unit that their accounts are in, and granted at the Active Directory
level)?  You would no longer have this issue each time another group decides they want to host their own Exchange system.

  • What port number for Desktop Sharing using in Lync Server 2013 and Lync Online

    Dear All,
My environment using Lync Server 2013 and Lync online on Office 365. I don't want my user using Desktop Sharing feature. then I need to know what port number for Desktop Sharing using in Lync Server 2013 and Lync Online.
I will deny this port on personal firewall each client.
          Thank you for your advise.

    Hi,
I'm not sure you'd be able to do this with ports without impacting other application sharing features such as Q&A, Whiteboard, Poll etc - I'm pretty sure they all come under the same umbrella of ClientAppSharing.
    Ordinarily you would create or modify your conferencing policy to restrict sharing to single programs only using a cmdlet similar to below;
    Set-CsConferencingPolicy -Identity "Global" -EnableAppDesktopSharing SingleApplication
This would disable desktop sharing but enable users to continue sharing other single programs. If you want to remove that functionality too, then replace the 'SingleApplication' parameter with 'None'. Then users won't be able to share any programs either.
This is the correct way to do it as the icons will be greyed out for the users. Doing it your way, they would still be able to click them, and it would throw an error - this will lead to a lot more support calls and people assuming a service is broken.
    I hope that helps some.
    Kind regards
    Ben

  • What is "Directory Service" and why does it "use up 194%" ?

What is "Directory Service" and why does it "use up 194%" on my istat CPU app monitor?
Ever since I installed Leopard I've noticed this happening more and more - especially when I install an external hard drive or unplug my ethernet line - this is plainly weird and never happened under Tiger - the temperature shoots up to 84° also - I always to a restart to get rid of it but it's kind of worrying....anybody have any ideas?

    Had this happen myself.
It does have something to do with Spotlight/searching. Should go away after a while, or so I have heard from other users, 'cause it hasn't stopped driving me and my fan mad yet.
Am going to have my MacBook index and follow-up on indexing and whatever else it feels is necessary to finally allow me to search in peace over the weekend while locking it away where I can't hear it.
    Hopefully that does the trick.
If it wasn't for things working better/faster and most things looking better I might actually consider taking Leopard off again ...

    The Hatter,
I am a novice at Mac so I read all I can.  From what I understand the NEC monitors I bought require Display Port for their maximum performance.  The GTX 680 only has DVI outputs.  Difference from what I understand is larger bandwidth with the DP.
You said I have the 4000 for CUDA.  I am not all that familiar with CUDA and when I do read about it I do not understand it.
A concern I have is, that if I connect the 2 high end NEC monitors via the 5770, using it's 2 Display Ports I would have nothing connected to the 4000.  Is the 4000 doing anything with nothing connected?  I read where in a PC system the 2 cards would interact but in a Mac system they do not.
Bottom line, as I see it, the 4000 will not be useful at all to me, since I want a dual monitor set-up.
So far the 5870 seems the best choice, higher band width than the 5770, and it has 2 Display Ports to optimize the NEC monitors.
I'm not sure how fine I am splitting hairs, nor do I know how important those hairs are.  I am just trying to set up a really fast reliable system that will mainly be used for CS6 and LR4.  Those NEC monitors are supposed to be top notch.

The new cable is completely new, and my computer can detect the phone as a drive, and battery charging is ok. So I believe the USB cable works properly. It is so weird that just iTune itself cannot detect the phone, and it is of the most updated version. What else can I do? Thanks.

At the moment i use AE, AP and ME CC 2014 8.2 with the latest updates. I have GTX 970 and AMD 8350. What's my problem?
Which chipset is on your system's motherboard? Which motherboard is your PC equipped with?
If the motherboard is using an AMD 790 or 970 series chipset, the HyperTransport bus will be running at a reduced speed, and thus the CPU performance will be worse than a quad-core Intel i5 CPU without hyperthreading. In many instances, this means that the GPU will be laying idle, waiting for the CPU to catch up.
If on the other hand the motherboard uses an AMD 990FX chipset, then it's likely that there is something else bottlenecking your PC.

  • What brands and type can I use for my iMac 20" internal Hard Drive?

what brands and type can I use for my iMac 20" aluminium internal Hard Drive?
can I use WD caviar black?
    is it too hot?

If you are replacing the drive because the existing one is faulty, that's one thing. If you just want more space, you should take advantage of having a decently fast and relatively small capacity drive in there now (instead of a huge drive). Get an external FireWire drive and off-load most of your user data there. Make your internal drive dedicated to mostly your OS and app files, with plenty of free space. That setup will make your iMac run more efficiently. I won't go into more detail, because I'm not answered your specific question... You can post back with any questions, if interested...
    To answer your questions...
You should be able to use any SATA 3.5-inch drive internally, but you should probably keep it at or under 1TB. The main concerns are power usage and heat dissipation. A drive like the WD Caviar Green would be ideal in terms of power and heat, but they do have slower (or variable) spin rate. I have one as an external drive (750GB) and it is amazingly quiet and cool. If I had to replace the internal drive because the current drive failed, I'd put it inside. I'll trade a bit of pure performance for the efficiency (including low noise), and these drives are more advanced with higher data density and larger cache, so the trade-off from slower spin rate may not be so bad.
You can check your current drive's model number (which is shown in System Profiler) to get the specs online. The stock drive in my old +Late 2006+ iMac is a 7200 RPM drive. The Caviar Black is a 7200 RPM drive, with a newer design. So if you want to use a Caviar Black in there, I think it would be OK.
