What ports do I open for a WRTU54G-TM off my WRT54G running DD-WRT?

I've grown weary of having a flakey internet connection with my WRTU54G resulting in having to power cycle it often.  I am going to install my WRT54G running DD-WRT as my primary router and hang the WRTU54G-TM off of it.  I'm hoping if all the WRTU54G is doing is the VOIP, then everything will be much more stable.
Can someone tell me what I need to do on DD-WRT to allow the WRTU54G to work?  How about the QoS settings for VOIP?
TIA,
Dave

Try to open ports 5060-5061, 16384-16482 on your dd-wrt if the wrtu54g-tm is behind it to allow the voip traffic to passthrough. You can give priority to the port where the wrtu54g-tm is connected to for qos.

  • What ports do I open for Media Manager?

I'm having trouble getting my Media Manager files seen by my DVRs (QIP-7232s). I have enabled such services that allow me to remotely admin my DVRs from the web, so I know they can be seen on the network. But I cannot get them to see the MM server running on my network.
I have a second router between my ActionTec and my XP Pro (32 b) server running Media Manager and holding all my video files. This is the routher that serves the IP addresses for my network.
Installing Media Manager seemed to go well. No errors.
However, none of my DVRs can locate the Media Manager and the contained files. I suspect I need to open a port or two on the 2nd router to allow the Verizon MoCA router access to the MM application.
Does any one know what ports I need to open?

Wow, this makes me want to pull my hair out..
    It shouldn't be this difficult
I think I'm going to remove my router and just go with the ActionTec.
When I have more time (and patience) I'll go back into the world of port fowarding.
    Thanks!

  • What ports should be open for mac-pc chat?

So we've finally got our cams to work with cross-platforming (thanks to sandra and ralph). Now I still have a little bit of problems. I cannot hear him, tho he can hear me, and for some reason, sending/receiving files seem to be hard with most of my buddies. Can someone out there who can do all of these things tell me that optimal ports that they have open? That would be wonderful!

Whenever there is no audio at your end, but the PC user on the other end has a mic and can hear you, the PC user should try "tuning" the preferences for his camera and / or Mic. That may resolve the problem.
To find the setting, he must click on the Preferences menu option that becomes available after he clicks on the Setup icon near the bottom of the AIM 5.9 Buddy List Window.
Once he sees the Preferences, he needs to drop down the list, and click on "Live Video." In the new window that opens, click the button that says "Tuning Video and Audio." Follow the instructions in the wizard that opens.
Some PC users report that they need to reboot their PC after tuning to make the changes effective. Some also have reported that they must re-"Tune" whenever they make ANY camera or mic change, even as simple as unplugging and later plugging the same item back into their PC.
Can someone out there who can do all of these things tell me that optimal ports that they have open?
Your PC pal should see the AIM® Video IM - Frequently Asked Questions for info on setup and router configuration at his end.

  • What Ports Does Mail Open, and Why?

    Mavens of Mac Mail Internals,
While trying to debug my lightly-loaded-yet-consumed-by-spinning-beach-balls 27" iMac running OS X 10.8.4...I've observed in Activity Monitor that Mail has 33 threads and 496 ports in use.
    Huh?
Why would Mail possibly need so many ports open? What ports? What kind of ports?
Are all the ports Mail is using the same type of port as 25, 587, or 993...or, is Activity Monitor reporting the system's consumption of another type of port? Or...what?
And...what's typical? How many threads and ports should Mac Mail have running and open at any point in time?
Baseline: My Mail setup is provisioned for 8 GMail mailboxes, 1 Hotmail mailbox, 1 Google Apps (Mail) mailbox, and 1 company mailbox.
Objective: Trying to determine what relationship Mail has, if any, on the increasing number of spinning beach balls infecting my system.
Thanks in advance for your assistance! Much, much appreciated,
    Plane Wryter

    Ahh!
So...Is Activity Montior reporting on the number of open IPC (Inter-process Communication) ports?
    Is that what's going on?
Would this explain why coreaudiod has 1,077 ports open?
If so, any idea as to why? Why does either Mail or Coreaudio need so many internal ports open?
BIG THANKS for the insight and clarification.
    Best,
    Plane Wryter

  • What port number is used for SMTP outgoing mail with AOL?

I inadvertently changed the port number for SMTP outgoing mail of AOL.  What port number should I use?

Yahoo and Gmail support should be able to help you.
Not related to Firefox support, web mail doesn't use POP or SMTP protocols which is what email clients such as Thunderbird use for communicating with email servers.

  • Ports to be open for iTunes U

    Hi,
I have an issue in my institution. I can't browse my iTunes U content, especially videos. Videos never start and also block iTunes 30 seconds later.
Do you know which ports need to be open ? My institution is behing a very narrow firewall, we also use a proxy (which is well configurated I guess).
I've been told that 80 and 443 ports should be open (http and https) but it doesn't help, videos are not launching.
Are there other ports to be open ?
    Thanks for your help.

  • What is a good strategy for keeping the OEM GRID up and running?

    Hi,
What is a good strategy for keeping OEM GRID up and running? Currently, we have grid installed on one linux64bit box with 4 cpus and 8 gigs of RAM, oms 10204, repdb 10204, agent 10204. In addition to using this oem grid for notifications and performance monitring, we are also using this oem grid for scheduling over 700 jobs running over 30 targets.
What is a good strategy to have to backup the grid so that when this box goes down, we can restore and then recover the grid? Please lead to white papers or documentations. Thank you.

  • WAAS FLOW MONITOR and NETQoS integration ( what ports do I open)

    Hi there,
I am having issues integrating WAAS flow monitor feature with NetQoS in version 4.2.1.
The WAAS applicance fails to establish the initial session on port 778 with NetQoS which I believe it is needed to set the next session on port 9996 or 9995.
We have opened a "hole" for the WAE to register but still no go.
    Any help will be appreciated..
    Regards,
    Manuel

The port used to communicate between the flow monitor and the NetQoS Aggregator and Management Console is TCP port 7878. You should be able to use the show commands on 4.2 to show the connection status. If the firewall is blocking that port, you'll want to punch a hole and it will continue to try to connect.

  • What is a best practice for counting number of payments in Payroll Run?

I'm trying to get a feel for what people are using as a means for counting number of payments being created during a payroll run.  I would like to get a total number of checks, direct deposits, wires and zero net checks.  My initial thought is to use the Pre-DME number "Selected and Evaluated Persons".  This number seems to always match the number of persons "Selected" and "Evaluated" in posting to FI/CO.
Since many companies are restricting use of SE16 and access to many of the BT tables is locked down, I would like to use something that the end user has access to and can easily use.  I don't believe the spools from RFFOUS_C and T are appropriate since it would have overflow pages (2 page REM Statements) in that number and thus would not be an accurate reflection of total number of payments.
I would appreciate your insight and thoughts on this topic.
    Thanks!

    Hello Jennie,
This is what we do every payroll:
    1. After running live payroll and before exiting our users run wage type reporter /559 to get the payroll net pay. They also run Postings to FICO simulation run to check payroll net pay GL account. This match all the time. So this is the first pass.
    2. They finish all subsequent activities in PRD run upto RFFOUS_T.
    3. We have developed a custom report which almost looks like REGUH which gives the net pay details by every payment method and amount to be deposited or paid. We match this report from the output we received from step 1.
    4. Run postings to FICO live and check the payroll net pay GL account for final validation.
The steps might sound tedious but of a great use.

  • SCCM 2012 What Ports Do I need to open so DMZ servers can communicate with my SCCM Server?

    Hi,
What ports do I need to open in the firewall so my DMZ servers can talk to my SCCM server on the network?
Here are my steps before to make my DMZ servers talk to my SCCM server:
    1.  On my SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 I have bounderies installed --> I install SCCM Client on my DMZ server with the appropriate switches --> I go back to my SCCM server to approve the server --> Works
But now my DMZ servers stops getting definition updates from my SCCM server and I was suggested that it is much easier to open ports in DMZ.
Now, could you please tell me what ports should we open to ensure two way communication among servers?
    Thanks!

Yes and no. It's a bit muddy at times.
For Internet based clients, putting an Internet-enabled MP in the DMZ is perfectly acceptable because Internet clients will only choose MPs enabled for Internet communication.
For systems in the DMZ, that's where it really gets muddy. There's no perfect way to accomplish this. IMO, DMZ clients should be allowed to go back to the MP/DP in the Intranet with a targeted opening in the DMZ firewall rules that allows them to only go
to the internal MP. That's a security policy question though for your organization.
Another option is to treat the clients in the DMZ as Internet only clients. This way, they will only go to the Internet MP in the DMZ. You do lose some functionality though like Remote Control.
A final way is to actually put an MP/DP in the DMZ and deal with the timeout's that happen when clients try to talk to the MP in the Intranet. Clients will try 5 times to contact that MP before giving up. They try to find a new MP at the following times
    (which are not configurable):
    - Every 25 hours
    - WHen the client detects a network change
    - When the client agent starts

  • Trying to open port 8080 in WRT400N for external access

    Hi,
I have tried everyhting I can find and I still can't get it open.
I verified no port 8080 is in use with the "netstat -a" trick
I got a router checker that verifies I have only one router.
I got a free app that tells me the port is not open.
    I turned Comodo off .
    Once I start up Calibre I see this in 'netstat;
          Protocol     main address      Foreign Address
            TCP          0.0.0.0:8080              MAIN-PC:0               Listening
*IF* MY 'public IP" is 98.93.123.456 -
*IF* I had my stuff fixed would outsiders use 98.93.123.456:8080 to get to the server?
I set Single Port Forwarding to 8080  8080 Both 192.168.1.106 (Enabled)
I set Port Range Forwarding to the very same
I set Port Range Trigger ing to 8080 to 8080,  8080 to 8080
I can't figure out anything else to do?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

I changed the port to 8081 everywhere I had it 8080 before
If there is a number I should use let me know (I am noob in this stuff.)
    So nothing has changed.
I can bring up the logon if I am on the same computer as Calibre and that's as far as it goes.
Should I have my computers IP in the places I listed or the routers IP?
OK I just tried that and the router told me "No"...grasping at straws I guess.
We are making headway ...any more things to check?
    Thanks guys
If you forward the port, and the online port scanner shows that the port is closed still odds are that the application on the PC that you are trying to forward to is not running, also it could still be a firewall running on the PC.
    1. Confirm the Router is getting a public IP address, if it is getting a private the device in front will need to be forwarded. (Your router is getting public IP)
    2. Confirm the Router has the correct ports forwarded; also be sure to know if it is TCP or UDP.
    3. Confirm the Application is running on the PC
    4. Make sure no firewalls running.
After that you should be good just does the test in DOS (For example: public IP address followed by a single space and then the port number). The command would connect you to a web server running on port 8080. You will not see anything in the DOS window; usually what will happen if you connect is the screen will just go entirely black (if it’s successful). If the port is closed it will tell you that it cannot create a connection.
