What power adapters are included?

I received my refurbished black MacBook a week ago and am thrilled with it. The package contained the powerbrick/cable that connects to the computer and the long/extension-cord-like 3 prong plug.
Was there supposed to be a 2 prong plug that connects directly to the powerbrick?
Should I contact Apple to get this part?

If it isn't already attached to the brick you could call Apple and ask them about it.

  • What file types are included PDFExportConverter for Oracle UCM 11g (PS3)

For UCM 11g PS3 or later, (WebCenter Content if you prefer), I am trying to find out the list of file types supported for conversion to PDF, and which are out of the box, and which need a 3rd party download.
Is there any documentation that lists supported file types, and how to get any 3rd party converters?
This is very urgent as the customer needs to put in their budget and include any costs associated with 3rd party converters.

  • What power adapters work with the 2008 (previous model) macbook pros?

The battery is 60w. I've had to replace 3 powercords because of internal failure or melting in the past year and was wondering what wattage would be appropriate for the cords since I have to now buy a new one.
Also, is there any type of wrapping I could encase the cord in? I tried using electrical tape to seal up a whole in one of my cords and it promply ate through the casing, leaving it in tatters. The cable still works but it's certainly unsafe to leave unwrapped at this point.

You should find that this adapter best fits your model of adapter:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC461LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
There is a way of wrapping your cable so there's no chance of it failing again.
When you start wrapping the cable, take the large adapter in your right hand, and leave about two inches of slack. That way, when you start wrapping the cable around the adapter, the cable is flexible and there's no stress. Next, the thinner magnetic part of the cable should be wrapped loosely.
I only request that respond to this thread, on whether or not this answers your question!

  • What other assets are available in the flex-included Assets.swf

I see that certain skins for the close button in the TitleWindow are included in Assets.swf (included in the flex SDK).
How can I tell what other assets are included in that file? Specifically I'd like to find the matching assets for minimize and maximize buttons.
I'm using flashdevelop, not cs4 or flexbuilder if that makes any difference in my ability to inspect Assets.swf.
    Example:
    closeButtonDisabledSkin:Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonDisabled");
    closeButtonDownSkin:Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonDown");
    closeButtonOverSkin:Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonOver");
    closeButtonUpSkin: Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonUp");

First of all, there are no skin resources for minimize and maximize buttons in standard SDK Assets.swf,
so you have to invent them yourself ) and inject to your window class extending TitleWindow.
The answer is logically grounded in the way that noone ever seen any standard widgets having this kind of buttons inplace,
thus they doesn't exists at all and resources for them as well.

  • Is it ok to use the other macbook power adapters with the mb air?

I have a few extra power adapters for the Macbook Pro and Macbook. Does anyone know what Apple officially says about plugging one of those into the Macbook Air? I've heard rumors that it's risky and might void the warranty, but I would like to see a direct quote if there is one.
I know those other magsafe plugs are impossible to use if you keep the MBAir on a flat surface, but it's definitely convenient to use a spare Macbook Pro / Macbook power adapter if you put your Air on a laptop stand, or even on a book.

I think we are mixing terms here.
I believe the Macbook Air, Macbook and Macbook Pro power adapters are 45W, 60W and 85W respectively. The power adapters don't push power to the notebooks, the notebooks draw power from the power adapters, Consequently you can always use a higher wattage adapter.
The Macbook and Macbook Pro use different voltages but all the power adapters seem to be able to use each. The Macbook Pro uses 4.6A (amps) and the Macbook uses 3.65A and the Macbook Air 3.1A. Pushing to many amps to a device would ruin the unit, but it seems like this has been planned as you can mix and match all the magsafe adapters today and they all function properly.
I have read that the notebook knows whether it can draw enough power to recharge the battery or only enough to run the computer while it is on and that in the latter case it will charge the battery when the notebook turns off. Whether this is bad for the charger or the notebook is unclear, but since the notebooks seem to respond intelligently in those different situations I think that the apple engineers have planned accordingly. If you draw too much power from the airline adapter for example, the airline adapter will simply stop providing power temporarily and the light will go off for a moment.

  • What kind of Headphones are included with Zen Mik

I was wondering about buying a Mp3-Player a long time, and finally decided that Zen Mikro would be the best choice to make.
There is no information about the kind of headphones who are included in the package, and knowing the quality of the Headphones is essential for me, in fact.
So, can anyone here tell me how the headphones are? Are they loud enough? Do they have a full-bass support? Does Zen Mikro have different sound-presets (bass/treble adjustion)?
I am still walking around with an stone-old Sony Discman (unbreakable, perfect, but no Mp3 ) and I have old Sony-Headphones who are really superb, but they are also patched after several accidents.
So, are the Creative-Headphones usefull, or do I have to buy some new ones from Sony?
    Thanks for every answer...

With the Zen Micro, you get what Creative calls "High Fidelity Earphones." They are Creative earbuds that are pretty comfortable as far a earbuds go. The sound quality on the headphones are above better than average. The range on the phones are really good. You get most of the low bass beats and most of the very high tones. If you are an audiophile then you may not appreciate the quality of the earbuds. But for most they offer mediocre satisfaction.
The Zen lets you choose from about half a dozen EAX EQ settings that lets you customize the sound of your audio. If none of those satisfy your tastes, then you can create your own custom setting by playing around with the different frequencies to tweak it to pure audio satisfaction. It can come in pretty handy sometimes. What also helps is the sound quality produced by the player itself is second to none.
    Hope this hel
    ps.

  • What types of samples are included with the EXSP?

I'm considering purchasing Logic Express, but wanted to know what types of samples (orchestral, synth, drum, keyboard, etc) are included with the EXSP player. Can anyone owning Logic Express tell me what types of samples are included?
    Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3)

    Hello, Jeb247.
This is merely a matter of personal opinion, but I believe that the included samples for EXSP are among the better features of the program. Granted, there are some cases where you have several instruments loosely based on the same samples run through different filters, but you are likely to find a decent array of what you need.
You get all the Garageband instruments, as well as the ability to load the Jam Packs into EXSP. While the following list probably contains some overlap with those samples, it will still give you an idea of what's out there:
The top-level hierarchy lists 41 different groups of sounds. After each listing, I'll note the approximate number of 'instruments' in each group:
    Piano (10)
    Guitars (11)
    Bass (5)
    Strings (9)
    Horns & Winds (9)
    Ethnic Instruments (2)
    Voices & Choir (3)
    Drum Kits (12)
    Effects(~50)
    Percussion & Specials (2)
    Analog: Bass (45), Leads (20), Pads (17), Percussive Waves (44), SpectrumSQ (25), Sweeps (30), Synthcomp (33), Waveforms (50+)
Digital Chromatic Kits (12), Initial Waveforms (60+), Motion & FX (36), Pad Synths (46), Percussive Waves (23), Synths (31)
    FM Bass (17)
Synth Atmospheres Layers (31), Singles (40)
    Synth Bass (45), Brass (12), Chords (21), Leads & Hooks (30), LFO Synths (21), Multi Sequence (6), Pads (44), Percussive Synths (44), Poly (28), Sidechain Chords (14), Spacious Effects (40), Strings (16), Sweeps & Swells (32), Vocalish (25)
Now, as to the quality of the sounds... your mileage may vary. For orchestral stuff, nothing appeals to my ears like the Kurzweil -- largely because of those smooooooooooth output filters. That's not to say that the EXSP stuff isn't worth checking out; I just happen to use it for electronic textures and percussion rather than acoustic emulations. The drums simply don't cut it for me -- not nearly enough punch. But -- as I've mentioned before, you ears may report different pleasure levels.
Suffice it to say that the EXSP comes with a substantial array of music-making potential. For the money (a freebie w/ Logic Express) it's a really good deal. Shortcomings in its sound set can be overcome by the careful purchase of additional material where your ears report unsatisfactory sounds. If you don't like the drums, iDrum or Battery might be a good idea (or my personal favorite: an outboard drum machine with dead-short latency...); if the orchestra stuff is weak, there are alternatives there, too.
And your options for synth textures are beyond counting -- though I can specifically recommend the utterly astounding (and free!) Alphakanal "Automat". And you can have a pile of fun with the (equally free) NUSofting daHornet. And... and... the list goes on.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • What Prefixes Are Included In My Local Calling Area?

I am in the former GTE service territory, specifically, the Elsinore Main California exchange.
On Friday, December 11, 2009, I spoke with a service representative and a supervisor (who admitted that she was "filling-in" and is really an hourly employee), who are in the soon to be divested Everett, WA call center.
I was calling to find out what prefixes are included as part of my local calling area, specifically ZUM 1 AND ZUM 2 (some also call it Zone 1 and Zone 2, but the correct designation in most southern California service areas of Verizon is ZUM).
Both representatives had no idea what a "ZUM" is, and the "supervisor" said she had never heard of the term ZUM or Zone.
What made me upset is that I was told that they (Verizon) did not have this information, and I would have to contact the CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission) to obtain this information as Verizon's staff would not have it.
My reply was how would Verizon not have the information, because they would need the ZUM prefix list for each exchange so they could bill correctly.
I then asked how does Verizon gather all the calls that are made from their exchanges each month and send this data to the CPUC so that Verizon can then determine if the call is ZUM 1, ZUM 2, ZUM 3 or intralata or interlata?
The "supervisor", said yes, because Verizon would not know what prefixes are included, and relies upon the CPUC to review the calls from Verizon's exchanges and prefixes so that Verizon can bill their customers each month, and this has been the process for many years (according to the "supervisor").
I kid you not, this what was said to me by the Verizon representatives, and I shoulld have advised the employees that I was recording the call. It would have been a great play for You Tube. What a bunch of (edit)  from these two Verizon call center representatives!
I'm glad Verizon is divesting the Everett call center along with other assets to Frontier, as people like these should not be employed by Verizon, in fact, they should be terminated for cause. Good luck to Frontier with the Everett call center.
Using Verizon's web site when trying to determine what prefixes are in my local calling area (ZUM 1 AND ZUM 2), you are directed to use the following two "very helpful" (my words...lol) links for information...please try for yourselves:
To obtain Local Calling Area information
    http://www22.verizon.com/Content/CommonTemplates/sorry.html
    Zone Usage Measurement (ZUM) Information
    https://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/Phone/Calling+Plans/Local+And+Regional+Calling+Plans/Gener...
Great Information Verizon!! Both are dead links.
Anyway, point me in the direction where I can obtain the current and accurate prefixes that can be called without charge to ZUM 1 and ZUM 2, and with a charge to ZUM 3 for my exchange and prefixes. DO NOT point me to a white pages directory because that is already outdated (and I do not have a white pages directory).
Again, my exchange is Elsinore Main, and the prefixes are 951-245 and 951-674.
    Thank you.

  • What to do about recurring failure of power adapters?

My power adapter failed 9 months after I purchased my new MacBook Pro. I checked the review of the power adapter on Apple.com and there are over 400 very negative reports with the same problem. MacBook owners are purchasing 3 or 4 new power adapters a year as they fail so quickly. Each one costs $79.00. I am on the way to get my first replacement while my MacBook is still under warranty.
As the reviewers state, that is too much money to continually replace power adapters after spending $1,000 or more on a laptop.
I do not understand why Apple, with its reputation for quality, has not addressed this issue. I also wonder if anyone knows how to influence Apple to fix the design flaw and replace the defective power adapters?
We are an Apple family. My husband has owned 3 desktop versions and I now own my second MacBook. We have never encountered a problem like this with an Apple product. (Note: my older white plastic MacBook power adapter worked fine for 3 or 4 years. In fact it is still working).
Any suggestions besides getting replacements or purchasing the (also expensive) Apple Care service. I could get 2 more replacements under Apple Care and they would still not add up to the $249 cost of the Apple Care Plan.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Gramx3

    If you haven’t already gone:
Stutter problems could be some kind of fragmentation.
They may have you backup & re-initialize the device. (reload). Though it sounds like you have too.
You might be ahead of the game, if you backup a latest backup to your desktop before you go to the Genius Bar,
    assuming you have a desktop.
I’ve seen an occasion where this reload was done at an Apple store for an iPad problem & not everything made the trip, as some items were not where they were expected to be & some apps were not App Store purchases. Having that last additional back up might be worth your while.
