What precise steps do I take to STOP this annoying 'unresponsive script' freezing of computer; error message: "resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:329"
When computer is first turned on, and after Firefox is launched, the screen freezes. It continues to remain unresponsive to any mouse clicks or keyboard actions. After 10 to 20 minutes error message pops up:
Unresponsive script: resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:329
followed by 2 choices (buttons): wait for script to finish running or stop the script.
This is an enormous waste of time and highly frustrating.
If you answer this question or provide a solution, kindly do not use technical or vague terms like "check if there's a problem with the hardware accelerator or with add-on or extensions". That's too general and I can't follow up. It's a bit like saying "go cook a meal". Instead, I'd appreciate if you give precise instructions, steps 1, step 2, step 3 and so on. Thank you.

I'm trying to restore bookmarks from a .json file (as xmarks keeps duplicating and corrupting my list) and Firefox often works really slowly also. I know this as I ususally get a script message errors and option to continue or stop.. In this case with restoring bookmarks everytime I try to restore with my saved .json file I get an interruption, and the message " A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. script: resource://gre/modules/PlacesUtils.jsm:1436" i stop the script (if i continue the same warning comes up) and then get half of my bookmarks restored or similar only if that, and another message telling me FF is unable to process the bookmarks!? I think this unresponsive script is the one that randomly comes up when I'm working FF hard, and causes it to run slowly- or it is a very similar looking message. Any comments and ideas appreciated .
Running on Macbook pro 2GHz Intel Core 2Duo, 2Gb 667 Mhz DDR2 OS 10.6.8One other thing....the same script error on Ubuntu Linux 11.10 on my old Dell. And it seems that the backup I thought I had made probably was saved incorrectly, again only half of the bookmarks I had sorted out were created in the file- i should have exported a copy as another safeguard!

My MBP now completely freezes randomly. What troubleshooting steps should I take?

Well since 2 days, my MBP 2009 which was working AMAZINGLY well until then, completely freezes randomly.
The mouse just stops moving and it's the end. I can only turn it off.
I didn't install any new software since this is happening.
I checked the drive and repaired permissions with Disk Utility.
I scanned it with ClamXav. I unplugged all connected devices.
My system is 10.6.8.
The only thing I did, was resetting the SMC two days ago (because it didn't find my iSight anymore - that worked).
What other steps should I take now to try to narrow down where the problem is coming from?

if you boot into Safe mode and run your typical set of apps there, does it still freeze up randomly? -
I had an in-game purchase that failed to give me my items purchased, this is usually an easy fix, but this one was through EA, I would like to know what steps I can take to rectify this. (I realize that NOT playing EA games is the best answer...)

I tried following the steps in this article. When I attempt to delete iTunes, it says “iTunes” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X. What other steps could I take to get my MacBook Air to recognize my iphone again? Neither iTunes nor iPhoto recognize my phone any longer.
iTunes can't be deleted because it comes with OS X. In order to delete it, open Terminal and copy:
sudo rm /Applications/iTunes.app
This will remove iTunes, so then you can reinstall iTunes -

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -
Every time I connect my iPhone 4s to iTunes on my Mac, it tries to set up my phone as a new one/restore from back up. I have it all set up already, but it keeps appearing. What do I need to do to stop this?

Last night I plugged my Q10 in and suddenly it starts wailing like a siren.... I look at the phone and see the message 'Charger unplugged/. Tap ok to stop this annoying sound'... Thing is, the charger was NOT unplugged and I have NO IDEA what is making this noise...
SAME thing happened again just now when I plugged it into my work computer...

Quite confused.That alert is alarming. I had it go off for a severe weather alert and the office started to clear out as it was same sound for the building alert to exit. Didn't know about it and took me a few seconds to tap it out and corral the office mates who were abandoning ship. I thought that alert for the charger was an app designed to alert you if someone tries to pinch your phone while it is on charger and then taken off without your knowledge. Sounds like your phone is malfunctioning for this alert. Dunno the fix other than tapping, maybe someone else will chime in.

If the "server" is my computer, these Adobe applications are the only ones with a problem. I cannot find my original disks and must assume they were thrown away with some other cleanup activities. I know I registered the system (for two computers) when I bought it in 2007.

Welcome to the forums.
You can try one of the two options below to work around your issue.
Drag and drop the files from the desired music folder to the BlackBerry Music folder using the computer.
Open the desired music folder on the computer
Go into Computer or My Computer and open the BlackBerry network drive
Open the Music folder
Drag the desired music files from the computer music folder to the BlackBerry Music folder
Try a different Windows profile.
Go into the Control Panel and create a new user account
Put some music files in a folder that is accessible by all profiles or transfer them to the BlackBerry device
Log out of the current profile and log into the new profile
Transfer music into iTunes or Windows Media Player
Launch BlackBerry Link and go through the setup configuring the music source of your choice
Click on the Computer name in the bottom left corner of Link
Select Music on the left side
Drag and drop the desired music files from the list to the BlackBerry name in the bottom left corner of Link
If neither of these options work for you then you will want to contact your mobile service provider and ask that this issues be escalate to BlackBerry support for investigation.
