AMD. Because it is 'number 2' and we all know that 'number 2 tries harder'
There are silly answers, in part because this is a silly question. There are many, many things to think about, including the definition of 'best'. For example, to a CIO, best might heavily weigh to the 'cost per machine' rather than 'blurps (basic logical user requests per second)'

I believe that Oracle is developed and coded on a Solaris
platform and then ported to other operating systems. If that is
the case, you can assume that Solaris is the best platform or at
least the safest in terms of performance and risk.

I did install the SC 3.1, everything seems ok. I can run the scstat and it show:

Anyway YOu need
1. Oracle HA agents (Purchase from SUN if not already done)
2. HA Storage PLus ( optional) Read ducmentation on docs.sun.com to get conecpts right)
OK now that you have installed a version of Oracle on one server. You dont need to install another one.
As your datafiles are in /global/ora which is part of global file system you can set it up to be mounted on both servers together. Once that you have done you need to install oracle binaries ( binaries only) on second node and setup the files ini files oratab etc etc.
If you havent setup Oracle in HA yet dont worry. You can try to start the oracle intance on second node. But shutdown the instance on node 2.
Next setup Oracle in HA
Its too much to tell you what to do on this forum. You would be better to just read the docs.sun.com and figure out. However I have a document written up for my installation which I can send you if you need it. I will need to take the company name etc from there and send it to you.

Remember the document is catered to my install and for cluster 3.0 and not 3.1 so you will have to figure out what changed and I dont use Veritas Volume manager DMP instead my setup has EMC so i use emc powerpath. Otherwise the doucment is simple and straight forward.

What concrete books would you recommend for OLTP database developer (to start from the scratch, starting from data sources analysis, logical and physical data modeling, indexes, tuning, maintaining). It doesn't have to be a book particulary for Oracle but suitable for it..

Connected to an idle instance.This message means that your DB is not running, or ORACLE_SID environment variable is not set properly. Be sure that ORACLE_SID has correct value, then, if you get that message, type "startup".

Actually, I'm a new in a Oracle career but I know all concepts of Databases and SQL.
I'm planning to take a Oracle 12c (1Z0-061) (SQL Fundamentals) exam to achieve 12c OCA certificate but I'm bit confused in what source is best to learn it by self and what are tips to pass those all exam to lead me OCA certificate. The Oracle Press exam guide for 1Z0-061 is written, though of course there is all sorts of production stuff still to go. The 1Z0-062 guide (a lot longer!) is done except for the last two chapters. So both should be out in the near future. I know this because my buddy Roopesh is writing 1Z0-061, and I'm writing 1Z0-062. Bob Bryla's 1Z0-063 guide is bit later, the exam isn't in beta yet.
As Philippe says, the OCA is not simple this time. Of course I can't reveal the exam content, but I think I can say that Oracle Uni is raising the standard with 12c .

I have one program that I need windows for. What is the best solution for doing this without painfully slowing down my mac.

Depends on your needs.
BootCamp requires reboot and uses all physical resources of the system. Only OSX *or* Windows can run. Better for gaming or memory intensive tasks. BootCampAssistant must set up the boot sector to make it work. Also BCA required to remove it.
VM (virtual machine) like Parallels which "hosts" Windows while still running OSX. You split RAM between the two environments. VM is just another program so no special boot sector changes needed, but not good for graphics or RAM intensive programs.
Other recommended alternates to Parallels (paid) are VM Fusion (paid) and VirtualBox (free download from Oracle.com).

Select 'Reset Safari' from the Safari menu.

More than likely, your issue is sharing of iCloud information. You can run as many phones, iPads, iPods, etc as you want on one PC without issue.
Make sure you under Settings > iCloud that you have different IDs. You should also use separate Apple IDs, which can still sync to the same PC.

I'm switching from a PowerBook to a MacBook so I can run MacSpeech Dictate dictation software. Dictate ONLY runs on Intel Macs.
I currently use FrameMaker+SGML 6.0 in Classic. It CAN'T run on the Intel Macs.
I have over half a million words of FrameMaker files, including 7 volumes of cross-referenced research notes I add to almost daily. Since I am heavily dependent on FrameMaker's features, it's a must-have.
I haven't bought the MacBook yet, so if there are any hardware requirements I need to know about, or options I should consider or avoid, please let me know.

There is NO way to get the Unix (=Solaris) version of FM 8 to run
under OS X. It's an executable compiled for the SPARC processor,
and I don't think Apple has made a SPARC/Solaris emulator... :-)

I am a J2EE developer, for the time being I work at a Commercial Bank as an enterprise application developer. I have learnt java when I was following a local IT diploma and with the help of books, works at my working place and the internet , today I am developing J2EE applications with JSP,Servlets,JSF2.0,EJB3.0 and third party JSF libraries etc. (I am also developing softwares using other programing languages such as Asp.net, C#.net, WPF etc, but I prefer to be in the java path). Other than that, I'm also working as the UI designer of most of our applications.
I have those skills and practice after working for 4 years as a web/enterprise application developer & a UI designer, but now I have to focus on some paper qualifications and hence I am doing BCS.
Now I want to be a java professional in Oracle's path, and I need to know what is the best path I can select to move with Oracle. I finished my classes of SCJP , but didn't do the exams as there were some rumors that Oracle will dump those exams in the future. I am interested in Oracle university, but I am unable to even think about it as I live in Sri Lanka and don't have that much of financial wealth to go USA and join.
So I really appreciate if any Oracle professional could suggest me the best educational path according to what I mentioned about my technical and career background. iMovie HD (in reality HD5) - doesn't work under Mac OS X.7 - at all
iMovie HD6 - can take Plug-ins and run under Mac OS X.7 - BUT some of the Plug-ins doesn't work under X.7
