i received a ms publisher file what program can i use to open and edit

There is no program that can open Publisher files except Publisher. It doesn't matter whether you use Windows or a Mac, Publisher files must have Publisher.
Publisher does not have a Mac version so you will need Windows (and Publisher)

  • What program can I use to open documents

What program can I use to open documents with; if I am running OSX 10.6.8 and only have Text edit?

What kind documents of documents do you want to open? Just to read or write too?
Besides TextEdit, you also have Preview that can display a wide gamut of document types as well.
As for office documents, may want to download and install LibreOffice to deal with the usual suspects: .doc, .xls, .ppt   http://www.libreoffice.org/

The Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper, or similar software. For best results, place the second drive inside the computer or in a FireWire enclosure and boot the computer from it before removing the internal drive.

You can use QuickTime Player. Open QuickTime Player and go to File > New Screen Recording. Also, you can purchase Screenflow in the App Store because it's more advanced

You can use Textedit, it's on your Mac in the Applications folder, or you can download any of the ones suggested by shldr2thewheel, also Google for Bean, a free word processor for the Mac.

  • What program can I use to view and edit documents

What program will edit and save me documents something like MS Office

On what device?  (You profile says iPad.)
If you're on a mac, there is Office, there is LibreOffice, there is NeoOffice, there is Pages. These you have to go get. Office and Pages cost money.  There is also TextEdit (included on the Mac).

  • What program can be used to convert lps to digital in mavericks?

What program works for conversion of lps and cassettes to digital now that Mavericks has changed my life?

    Audacity - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ <--free
    Audition - http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html  <---$19.99/mo
    WireTap Studio - http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/wiretap/  <---$69
You may also need a USB turntable, but you can always use an RCA to 3/16" adapter
And there are USB cassette players too (http://www.amazon.com/Cassette-Converter-Helps-Recapture-Collection/dp/B005VQL1X 8) but if you have a good deck, you only need an RCA to 3/16" adapter to work with ANY of the software linked above.

  • What program can I use to open BUP files?

    Hello,
I downloaded several videos from my camcorder and they came over as BUP files? (also as IFO files and VOB files) What program,  if any, can i use to open them? Or what can I do to change them? thanks!!

It's a project manager piece of software from OmniGroup.  They are coming out with an iPad version but not soon enough for my needs.

  • What programs can I use to burn CD's and DVD's?

just wondering what universal software can i use to burn cd's, dvd's, or both. i used nero on my pc, which i was able to burn both cd's and dvd's. so if there is something similar, that would be good. just figuring out my options as an intel mac owner.

I don't use toast, so I'm not sure what kind of bells and whistles it has. But for DVD burning iDVD is excellent. It includes a bunch of great preset menu options and supports both 4:3 and 16:9 formats.
For CDs, I'm not sure what kind of "extra features" you could have, but iTunes does everything I've ever needed. Why not test it out first and see if you even need Toast?
    Hope that helps,
    Cameron

  • What program can I use in place of Flash?

I have tried using several programs that need Flash, of course Apple doesn't support it.  Is there another program I can use in place of Flash?

Apple doesn't want and Adobe have never made a version that works on iOS devices anyway.
As you don't say what you have tried I don't know whether they include browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon, which 'work' on some sites (but judging by their reviews not all sites). Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

  • What program can I use to be compatible with Microsoft office for windows?

I need to be able to use my iPad 2 for typing and excel. What is the program for apple that will work with my laptop running windows office.

    Rick,
QuickOffice HD for the iPad is the best in my opinion. It also provides the ability to edit PowerPoint in addition to Excel and Word.

I have a laptop fan that I use pretty often, but I'd like to have something that I can use to make comparisons between the results produced by different cooling units.

there are numerous programs for that .. one of the most detailed and precise one's is istats menu
it can read all available temperature sensors on your machine as well as loads more sensors ..

Now l want do the same in my Macbook pro, people told me Mac has something equal to Corel Draw. I wonder which program l can use to do that.

    Mary --
I used PrintShop for years.  Here's the link to the Apple Store page on "drawing."
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/software/design_publishing
Also "Print Explosion" is good.  It's included in this link:
    http://www.ehow.com/about_5206227_card-making-software-mac.html
iPhoto has a beautiful card making function, using your own photos.  It's stunning really.
If you have iPhoto, it's free.  If not, you can get it easily and cheaply via the AppStore.
You can also do photo books & calendars through iPhoto.
Also, Pages -- a program in iWork.  I haven't used it, but those who have, love it.
    http://www.apple.com/iwork/pages.
I'll bet that's the one you heard about.
