What programs have to be started at startup?

Hey all! I was wondering what programs and stuff I should have on when I turn on my computer. Some of the programs I have are TvsTray, TPSMAin, thotkey, TFncKy, SynTPLpr, and others. What programs should I leave to load at startup? Thanks a lot for your help. -John

It all depends on what you want to use.
Generally the Toshiba notebooks are delivered with different features and such features needs drivers and tools loaded on startup to work properly.
Such features are for example the FN hotkeys, Touchpad, etc
If you dont want to use such applications you can disable it from the RUN folder in the registry. But I don not recommend doing something like that.
I think you have bought a notebook with all this function because you want use it. Am I right???
However, for me such features are very useful and I want miss it.

If you have an unpaid balance or payment due, you can't select None as your payment type. To see which order you need to pay for, view your purchase history. When you sign in to the store, you may see a message that there was a billing issue with your last order. Click the Billing Info button to see the order.
After you pay for the order, you can change your payment information to None.

What Program replaces PS Album Starter Edition 3 ??????

I have downloaded PS Element 9 Free Trial but do NOT see the Automatic Organization by Date that Album Starter Edition 3 had .
This was great because I could find pictures i loaded by the Year , Month , Day in a Calendar form that I liked .
What program replaces that ???

The timeline and calendar view are both present in Photoshop Elements. Look under the Display menu in the right for Calendar view; the timeline command is under the Window menu.

What programs have been adapted to the retina resolution

I finally got my macbook pro retina in the mail yesterday after waiting 3 weeks. Now I am setting up my computer and I notice that most of them look terrible on this display, and I was wondering If anybody has a list of which programs have been optimized for the new resolution.

Keep your eye on the 8800GT of course, there are only a couple graphic card upgrade options but it will accept the same as newer Mac models. and keep the RAM (FBDIMMs) down to and below 70*C - monitor the sensors with Hardware Monitor (best) and boost the fans default speed from 500-600 up slightly to higher base of 800 rpm to improve airflow.
It is still a good solid unit. Protect it. Use a 850W UPS and it should serve you and run well. The ideal RAM configuration is to use all 8 RAM slots the combination of sets should not matter. 8x1GB or mix of some paired 2x2GB or you can use 2x4GB DIMMs as long as they are Mac Pro certified and have the large RAM heat sinks.

What programs to uninstall before starting new Macbook

Seems the Macbook comes with bloatware like most PCs except Asus, what stuff ca be safely removed before first use so as to give equivalent of a clean install with no excess and also maximsize disc space. Please advise as anytime I have tried this on Windows PCs I have encountered problems mainly form missing DLs whatever these are..

I personally do an "erase and install" when I receive a new computer (that goes for both Macs and PC). One of the reasons, which applies to your question, is that even though you can remove appications/additions/languages later, the system still think they are installed so will update them when updates become available. By doing a clean installation you not only get to choose what you want to have installed you avoid any updates.

During the setup of iOS 7 which you went through after installation it asked if you wished to create a passcode. It is possible to skip setting up a passcode at this step but you must have created one.
If you can't remember the passcode and you have enabled "find my iPad" you can use http://www.icloud.com/ to remote erase your iPad, then you can set it up again, and restore it from an iCloud backup.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Possibly something you consented to install with some free program. Or a virus.
Google doesn't pick the name up, are you sure you didn't make a typo? If you're really interested, you could try to find the add-on's files in your profile (see [[Profiles]], then "extensions" folder, then the folder with install.rdf file inside containing the name you see in the add-ons window) and check its source or post it somewhere and try to get someone to look at it.

You need to reinstall OS X:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

The Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper, or similar software. For best results, place the second drive inside the computer or in a FireWire enclosure and boot the computer from it before removing the internal drive.

That would indicate a network issue.
Reboot ATV and router
Make sure DNS is set to auto
Ensure router is up to date, if on wifi try ethernet
Go to istumbler.net to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise

You can use Microsoft Office for Mac, one of the free Office clones such as LibreOffice or Apple's iWork suite of apps. The iWork apps - Keynote (presentation), Pages (word processing & page layout) & Numbers (spreadsheet) are available individually from the Mac App Store. There are also versions for iOS available separately. And, coming this fall, iWork for iCloud.

The CC does not needs any serial number, it is based on Adobe ID.

Firefox keeps asking me what program to use to open file types even though I have selected one and checked "do this for all files of this type" going foward

I am working in Windows and every time I open an attachment, Firefox asks what program to use to open files of this type. I always select the proper program and then check the box that says use this program for all future files of this type. In spite of that, the program continues to ask for every file. How do I turn off this feature and just have the program remember the correct program to use for each type of file extension?

Regardless of your download preferences, web servers can trigger a download prompt by sending either the ''Content-Type: application/octet-stream'' or the ''Content-Disposition: attachment'' header. I am having a similar odd issue. First of all this summer i took my iphone 4 to apple because my screen had quit. I could hear calls and texts coming thru but screen was unresponsive. I was a month out of warranty so the nice fella at apple gave me a 30 day warranty, then replaced my handset with a refurb. Saturday night at dinner i was on my phine and it died. I plugged it in thinking nothing of it and went to bed. When i wooe up after the charger had been on all night all i had was the black screen with the battery (red) and lightning bolt, meaning it knew it plugged in but still did nothing. So off to apple i go. They said i was out of warranty and the problem (never said what problem) would cost 170 bucks to fix. So i went and upgraded to the iphone 5 ( figured if i'm spending that anyways may as well be on a new phone). When I got home i tinkered with the old one with all the online suggestions i could find. (Cleaning ports, hard reset, putting into recovery mode, and checking indicators for water damage which there was none). Still only saw the battery symbol. I left it alone figuring i can sell off cheap and someone else can repair. Last night for kicks i plugged it in again and it came to life! It is in recovery mode (needs to be hooked to itunes to regain functionality) but showed 100% battery charge. I went to show my bf and realized an issue. If its not plugged into the wall adaptor, it wont turn on. I figured then that if i can get it plugged in and pull it up on itunes maybe it would be fine. When plugged into the computer it wont hold enough power. It thrns on shows the apple for 30 seconds, shuts off. My ending conclusion on my own is that it needs a new battery in order to be revived. Anyone think this sounds like a reasonable conclusion? Or will i be wasting money? If i can get it restored to functional, cheaply i can give to my bf (his pos lg phone is almost toast) or sell it.
