I might be having to replace my Antec Truepower 480. Apparently its 22A on 12V rail is questionable considering my system? See my specs below in sig.

  • What browser are you using with OS 9.x?

Would you all please state which internet browser you are using with OS 9.x and the strengths/weaknesses you are experiencing with it?
I switch back and forth between Mozilla and Internet Explorer but fewer and fewer websites work properly with them. If there is a better browser than those two I would add it to my old Wallstreet running 0S 9.1.
Again, what browser are you using with OS 9.x and what are its good/bad points?
    Thanks!

    (Almost forgot
I have an iCab filter set up for Yahoo on my OS 9.2.1 iMac.
For the URL string I use (asterisk)yahoo(asterisk)
For the Scripts filter I use the Netscape identity and have all versions checked except "JScript", and everything is checked in the "Allow" section.
For the Network filter I use the Firefox identity and have the HTTP "referer" set to "Always".
I don't use Yahoo Mail much on that machine, but those settings allow me to use the Address book to select addresses and send messages with attachments. (I'm not sure about viewing attachments, though, and I'm almost positive that address auto-complete doesn't work.)
    Cheers,

  • What Camera are you using?

    Hi,
What camera are you using for you shot?Let share about the Semi Pro cam together: Fix Lens with manual Focus and Zoom,Affortable Price...

Well, before I got my Digital Rebel XT I dreamed of the Powershot S2 IS. Then the S3 came out...but I was hookoed on my Rebel XT. I hear the S5 is a monster...
Now, my 20D is probably more prosumer. I wouldn't call it a pro camera, although it is legendary for it's use on the sports areana and weddings by pros. For my money, any camera with a pop-up flash and automatic modes is not a pro camera. Having said that, I hope no one starts throwing eggs and tomatoes!

Yeah, I'm not sure I know what you mean either.
Q:  If you're asking which server-side code to use on Windows IIs Servers?
A:  ASP or ASP.net and MSSql.  Since Microsoft built these languages, you would get the best support from MS Expression.
If you're asking for software that helps you write code, you'll need to be more specific about which code you want to write and for what purpose.

  • What armband are you using?

Looking for an armband to use that can accomodate receiver. Just wondering what armbands people were using.
I don't really like the nike armband.

    Xtreme mac Sport Wrap http://www.xtrememac.com/cases/nano/sportwrap.php
It's comfortable on either wrist or arm & has a screen. (It has two straps in different sizes.)
I cut a small slit with a box cutter in bottom of the sport case to fit Nike+ sensor and put a hole for the earplug cord. The neoprene has not stretched or torn so it holds the Nano firmily in place (despite the slit--which looks like it was meant to be there--not jagged or rough).
I wear this on my wrist so that I can see the dial. No matter how much I perspire, the Nano does not get wet because it is not flat against my wrist. You couldn't pay me to use a screenless arm/wristband.

  • Is your iOS6 wifi ok? What router are you using?

After trying every possible solution proposed to resolve my wifi connection problems after upgrading to iOS6'the only solution left is to purchase another router. Today an Apple tech support rep told me wifi connection was hardware related only and had nothing to do with iOS6. I don't believe her but it is true that some are claiming they have no wifi connection problems at all after updating to iOS6.
If that is the case please tell me what brand and model router you are using so I can purchase a new one that is compatible with iOS6.
    Thanks!

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • What LMS are you using with UPK?

I have been using UPK for about 2 years. I have been tasked with finding an LMS for our organization. If you are using an LMS, please let me know what you are using, what you like and don't like about it.

    Hi
We are using Janison - LMS Vs 7.01
Its a bit clunky and visually not what you call cutting edge.
We have over 2.5k users in 13 different institutes who are all tested on the LMS and we use SCORM 1.2 to score a 80% pass.
    No pass - no access.
Wouldnt recommend Janison but it may have been our initial setup of the file structure that is causing a lot of our problems and lack or reporting options.
    Cheers

  • Poll:  How many users on your apps and what hardware are you using?

I am curious about the collective experience and performance of others APEX applications and how much "horsepower" your hardware has.
I have a need to support 20-30 users and am using a Windows XP machine with 1.99 Gig of RAM and a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 CPU.
    Any thoughts on this?

For my personal use, I'm renting a Celeron 2.4ghz with 1Gig RAM running CentOS, Oracle XE and Apex 3.2 at a data center 1200 miles away. Seems to work fine. I find the biggest issue is network bandwidth. I originally had a 10Mb link to the datacenter's backbone, now have a 100Mbit. The difference was night and day.
For work (speaking only of our Apex servers), we've got:
One Dell 2way P4 with 4G RAM and 10,000 RPM drives.
It runs 2 10G instances and several Apex apps and it also runs Enterprise Manager Grid Control for 40+ databases. No issues.
    Multiple prod/dev/test servers.
All are VIRTUAL running on VMWare ESX3.5. Each database VM has 2 gig of RAM and 2 "CPUs" running 11g/Apex3.2 on Oracle Linux. They all work fine.
I find that a poorly written app can crush just about any hardware you can throw at it. Luckily we don't have any of those ;).
I suspect that your hardware would be fine, particularly if running Linux. I cannot speak to Oracle/Apex on XP. I suspect you might be disappointed, mostly because it is tuned for interactive use rather than background applications (services). Not trying to be a Windows vs Linux troll here, just saying that if you are running a workstation with Oracle/Apex and you on it and expect to support 20-30 other people, you are all likely to be disappointed. Apex/Oracle should be on dedicated server hardware with a server OS.
You also aren't giving us much info on your hardware; 7200RPM IDE/SATA drives aren't going to be as fast as 15KRPM SCSI or SAS, etc.
It wouldn't surprise me if your well written application was able to support 20-30 users with the hardware you are describing (though I won't vouch for the OS).
Google for "apex.oracle.com" and "poweredge 1950" that will take you to this link:
    http://joelkallman.blogspot.com/2009/06/who-says-application-express-cant-scale.html
The whole thing apparently serves up 6 million page hits a week with a 1.5Gig SGA. That's a lot of work on a pretty small box.

  • What camcorder are you using with FCE that's compatible

I'd like to hear from folks so other folks know what's compatible and what is not. I know Apple has a list but it's outdated. old, and not comprehensive. By you stating what make & model your camcorder is and if it works with FCE will help a lot of folks.

    Hi Sheila.
The Apple list causes more trouble than it is worth.
There are possibly thousands of cameras out there but testing is so time-consuming that Apple has only tested a handful - probably all those on the list!
I think you will find that (almost) every mini-DV camera in the world, equipped with FireWire, will work OK in FCE.
You probably stand a greater chance of being struck by lightning than of buying a new camera that will not work.
Having said that, some Canon owners have experienced problems - which have usually been curable.
If you buy from a local dealer you might be able to come to an agreement that you can return the camera in the highly unlikely case that it is not compatible with FCE.
I believe some dealers will let you borrow cameras for short evaluation periods. (I don't expect the large "box-shifters" will do this).
    Ian.

  • IE8 Testing - what tool are you using?

I used to use IETester for testing in this browser. What tool is recommended now?

https://saucelabs.com/ if you dont have the hardware to virtualise.
Personally i just run everything in in VMWare from XP-windows8 /android/mac so I can see how each browser handles sites.
I found that F12 tools isn't as acurate as just loading them into the browser, it seems to be far more forgiving than it should be.

  • What Ringtone are you using?

I am using "old phone" for now, I may go ahead and make some in Garageband when I have time to figure it out.  Also, is there anyway to add our own text tone?

Yes, you can change the ringtone for your text messages on the iPhone with the steps below:
In Settings, choose Sounds, then tap New Text Message. Tap the alert sound you want, or None if you don’t want an audible alert.
Important: If the Ring/Silent switch is off, text alerts won’t sound.
You can also create custom ringtones in Garage Band. Click here for additional information.
Hope this helps, please feel free to contact us back if you need more assistance.

  • Have WIFI trouble?  What router are you using?

Ever since the 10.5.2 update, my WIFI at home has been disconnecting randomly - even when our PC stays connected with no issues.
I've read about a lot of others with this issue, and am curious if it's somewhat dependent on router type. (my WIFI just dropped writing this)
    My ISP is AT&T DSL. I'm using the 2wire modem/router model 2701HG-B.
We had the MacBook at the genius bar yesterday for about an hour, and the signal never dropped. Sometimes it will stay connected for that long at home, other times it disconnects several times within 10 minutes...
Very frustrating on a month old MacBook.

I certainly don't pretend to know much about routers. My MacBook is 3 months old and when I first got it, I was using an old NetGear (around 4 or 5 years old) and it seemed to work fine. Then recently, I got an Apple TV and got sucked in to buying an Airport Extreme Gigabyte router with the "n" protocol believing that I would get better performance downloading movies to my Apple TV. As to whether that is true or not, I can't say. I've also connected my MacBook with several other routers in my travels and haven't noticed any difference with 10.5.2 other than initial connection to the internet.
If I remember correctly, anytime I opened my MacBook before installing 10.5.2, my internet connection was always ready to go. Now, when I open my MacBook, I have to wait several seconds before I can establish a connection. Once I'm on though, it appears that I have a study connection and I don't remember any "dropped" signal.
I would think an Apple store would be a bad place to check to see if you had a reliable connection since I'm under the impression that Apple stores haver extremely powerful routers in order to feed all the computers they have online in their stores. And if this is true, it would seem that even a weak Airport would maintain a connection there although it might have problems doing so out in the real world.
