What REALLY happened with the iPhone 4S 64gb?

Like everyone else I feel completely let down that I didn't get my phone on launch day, but unlike everyone else (according to most of the posts I saw) I just really NEED to know JUST WHAT HAPPENED?
My store (in SE Wisconsin) seems to harbor a bunch of great people as employees and I'm not going to bash them, rather I would just appreciate some education to their employees by corporate. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY DIDN'T THE BEST BUY STORES GET THE IPHONE 4S 64GB ALONG WITH ALL OF THE REST OF THE IPHONE 4S'S.
This seems to be the situation across the country and there are a ton of people extremely unhappy. All we are getting from the front lines (ie the employees) is that the Apple distributors didn't send them? Really? There's no information anywhere about why Best Buy didn't get the phone.
I believe that if we, the customers, got the information about why we didn't get our phones on the launch day, a lot of people would be less unhappy. Also an estimated time as to when we will finally get them would be much appreciated. (Maybe trying to remedy this in the future would be a good idea too)
To sum it up:
1. Why didn't Best Buy get the iPhone 4s 64gb with all of the other iPhones
2. Please let us know what occurred to make this happen
3. Please let us know when we will get our phones, or at least when Best Buy will
4. Apologize
5. Don't let this happen again!!!

i live in sterling heights MI and have experienced similar problems.
i ordered a black 64g (at&t) iphone 4s for myself and a white 32g (at&t) iphone 4s for my wife. i arrived at the store 10 minutes after the store opened on the friday to pre-order. i was informed that there weren't many people before me who had pre-ordered through any carriers. the sales person who helped me said NOTHING about any type of snafu. he even told me stories on how they overstaffed the store (utica MI) for the verizon release and that they sold less the 10 iphone 4's on release day. he took my order and while taking it, the store manager (who the sales person advised me who had called) called him while he was helping me and informed him that the orders were to be filled in order received. wham, bam i'm out of the store as happy as can be expecting to get my hands on the phone that will make my wife a little happy camper. ok, i was pretty excited too. well, on thursday oct 13th i get a call from "sam" from best buy around 8 pm and he tells me that my phone won't be there and they'll 'probably' get another shipment later in the day. so instantly my blood begins to boil because i'm thinking to myself.......1. i only went to best buy for the $50 gift card per iphone 2 if i knew that there would be ANY issue with me possibly not getting the phone i would've just ordered from at&t or the apple store. 3 i too have spent oogles of $$$$$ at best buy and have come to expect better. finally 4th of all the way there was NO explination on WHY they didn't get either order just angered me further. since my wife has called every day and has received 3 different excuses over the four days she has called (since thur night)
i work with a lot of people who depend on cell phones and BELIEVE me.....each one will know about best buy selling items under the assumption i would've had it on launch day, and they can't even provide the item or a reason why they're not there.
whoever is in charge of the store/region/company should probably know how passionate people are with their iphone/apple products and shouldn't have led us on to believe that we would have one on lanuch day. it's just bad business! here i'm gonna take all these pre-orders and i have NO clue how many.....or even what we're going to get.
finally i'm in the catch 22......do i cancel the order and lose my place in line with the possibility of getting it any day here (that's a liberal use of the phrase any day.....probably 2 weeks) or do i cancel the order and go with the surefire at$t or apple and KNOW what i'm getting it?
from here forth best buy can $#&$ off with their pre-orders and products.....i'll go somewhere else.

Not to point out the obvious, but battery life depends very much on what is running and how much the device is being used.
If the battery lasts longer on a day you make no phone calls, but lasts less the day you make 5 hour long calls, this is to be expected.
If however the iPhone has the same level of use on both days, with different power consumption, this would infer a background process (or App) is trying to do something (connecting to server or creating a back up etc).
I switched off all thrid party apps from being included in my iCloud backup, which saves a huge amount of space on the cloud and allows the back up to take barely a couple of minutes.
Battery life seems ok so far on my 64GB 4S (Bluetooth on, Wi-Fi on, Location Services on, Push notifications on, Screen set to just under half brightness with Auto Adjust on)

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

What's up with the Iphone-5 that my wife and I just purchased? Neither one is now connecting to my WiFi Network. All other devices in my home network work fine, including my old Droidx. Did we just make a mistake by switching to the Iphone 5?

I never said the devices are used concurrently. I imagine that if they were there would be a limit. What is being pointed out is that devices of various types, such as PSs of various manufacturers, I-Pods, I-pads, laptops of various manufacturers, gaming devices, etc., when family comes to visit, have no issue logging in to my home Wi-Fi. While I love Apple devices, why is it that when I buy the best and the latest I have an issue. In the end it turns out that the solution is quite simple, "before connecting to the home network, update the router software". If this caution is there, I missed it and telling folks to re-initialize the router simply will not do it because, as was explained to me, the I-phone 5 is not compatible with "Security Encryption:WEN". I am not a computer wiz, therefore I cannot tell you if that statement is correct, but telling people to re-boot the router will not work in this instance.

Does anyone know who I can contact about a complaint? It's about those **** IPhone five chargers.
In less than a year that I have had my iPhone 5 I have gone through four chargers. All of which have stopped working for no reason. Just out of nowhere they stop.
No matter where I got the charger from, apple stores, amazon, the local Mini mart. They have all just stopped. It's now gotten to the point where I am fed up.
I have bills to pay, an apartment, loans from school, things for my needs. I barely make 9 an hour. Barely 200 a week. I need this phone and to have to buy a charger over and and over is ridiculous. I have gone a whole month without my phone because the charger died and I didn't have the money for it.
My iPhone 4 charger lasted a couple of years. Why is it that the 5's can't make it a few months with out breaking? I keep good care of them. They're always in the same place everyday. I live with just my boyfriend who I know isn't breaking them. So what's the deal?
Is this only happening to me?
One things for sure I won't be buying the new phone when it comes out.

I've had my iPhone 5 since the day it was released, I charge it every day, and still have the same cord it came with. It looks pristine. Not sure why yours have failed, but if many have, and not just ones made by Apple, it would defiintely appear that user error is to blame.
As the cable comes with the same warranty as the iPhone, not sure why you felt compelled to purchase multiple 3rd party cords when you could have just returned the original cable for free replacecment. Oh, but then you couldn't carry on and embarrass yourself in a public forum.

What's up is that the Verizon sales rep either doesn't know what he/she is talking about, has misinformation and has formed an incorrect opinion based on that, or quite possibily is getting a bonus or other pressure to sell other, less popular phones that they have too many of. Many millions of people are very happy with their iPhone 5s.

What's happening with the App Store?

One minute it shows 9 updates, then when I go to see what the updates are they disappear only to re-appear a few hours later doing the same thing.
It's happening on my iPhone and iPad.
"Apps near me" is hit and miss on my iPad.
Leaving reviews is hit and miss on my iPhone and iPad.
Regular "cannot connect to App Store or iTunes" messages on my iPhone and iPad.

I don't have n answer, but I've seen this problem on all 4 of my iDevices on IOS 7. And sometimes I see no update badge on the app, but if I go into it and check updates I have some waiting.
Honestly don't know if this is a bug in IOS or some carryover from last week when the servers were under extreme load. It's annoying though.

On the 3gs there is an alphabet that goes down the right side of the screen and the contacts are all kind of displayed in alphabetical order with their corosponding letter above that group(like the ipod artist and song view). but on the iphone 4 there is nothing, just all the contacts bunched up? Is this normal?

mine are in alphabetical order and have letters going down the side seems like you have a software glitch
first thing I would try is rebooting hold the sleep/wake switch and home button until you see the white apple logo appear
if that doesnt work restore from backup and see if its fixed and if that doesnt work restore as new not from a backup and see if its fixed
all that fails you may need to take it into a apple genius bar

Starting to wonder if the iPhone's been hacked into. The Iphone was working perfectly fine just a short time ago...only 48 hours ago. I never saw a screen on the front of the front of the phone which showed an iTunes Icon at the top of the screen and a cord going down to the bottom of the screen before. I cannot use the phone, get online to get to the internet, take photos of anything.
The phone was working perfectly the day it started working very very strangely and I was able to use the phone, see the time of day, take photos, get online, etc.
How do you fix the phone? I am not going to "restore" the phone & get ALL my info, photos & everything deleted!
Think we need to change the phone number because we also got a strange phone call from a phone number we never saw before!
Need some help. as I'm sure people CAN hack into smartphones.

It's in recovery mode. It's tryijng to tell you to plug it into iTunes and restore it.

What will happen with the richer functionalities of Deski if Webi replaces?

I have been told that Webi will replace Deski because Deski is not supported anymore. for that we developed a lot of new reports in Webi and we encourage our customers to do the same. When our customers try this new tool out (Webi) they miss a lot of the functionality they had with Deski and are not willing to change. For instance in Deski the graphics possibilities are much bigger if you want to combine more datasources on one graph. Or also the grouping functionality when inserting a new variable is also missing. For the first example we could say that this can be solved by Crystal reports and for the other you can link excel files to your webi but these are workarounds for our customers and they want added functionality in the Webi tool of course. Is this planned or are there other means that I don't know of to solve those questions in Webi?

has a different syntax, however, the results are the same. Here is an example:
You have a data set with various ages and a metric. You would like to group the ages into a group and summarize. Your report variable is called AGE, so here goes to get Ages 0-3, 4-8, and 9 and above:
=if([AGE] between (0;3);"Ages 0-3";if([AGE] between (4;8);"Ages 4-8";"9 and above"))
So, you use the "if function" and the example above uses the nested-if type of construct. I've never used DeskI, so I have a poor reference point on ease or difficulty over one tool or another. From an administrative point of view, if you can get users up and running quickly over the web using a java-enabled browser versus loading a software package then I think it is a step forward. Also, the web-enabled version, providing the correct security is in-place, permits a user to develop/run reports any where an Internet connection is available, but not so with DeskI. One of your stragegies might be to identify like capabilities between the two tools, then show your users the "new way", like group or if, etc, etc.-- Just my two cents worth.

Try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).
