What reasons would my movie render but then freeze up during the burn to disc?

So now I have a 64 minute movie edited, music in parts, menus made, ready to burn to a DVD.
I go to publish & share > choose save to disk > DVD> I want to burn it to 9 disks so set copies to 9> it is about 4 gigs so I set it to highest quality> then click burn.
2 1/2 - 3 hours later it finishes the rendering or reformatting part. now it should go directly to burning this onto the blank DVD disk but the program seem to freeze up and over an hour later the burn progress bar is still at 0% and the program is unresponsive.
In previous "test" burnings (wanted to see how some of the other transitions and effects looked) I did not have the menu set up. Is there any reason that adding menu screens would cause this to lock up?

3 ghtz dual core cpu
8 gigs ram

I believe this would be applicable to my situation. But I could not do what the directions in the link you provided told me to do.
In I-tunes, I found the preferences, then the general tab, got the import pop-up screen changed that to MAV, then clicked OK.
I clicked on an album in my library, a song started playing, then I can open that album to see individual songs, I click/highlite one song.
This is where I could not do the next steps. there is NO "file" option in the top left of the window. the only thing up there looks like a domino and play control buttons. When I click on the domino looking thing I get a drop down menu but there is nothing that says "create new version".
I opened a new file explorer window, found my music> media opened up the album clicked on 1 song there> then clicked on "file". NO such options there either.
I'm stuck now.
Do I need to put the CD back in and rip each song I want to import into the computer again in the different file format?

My first advice is "Back up the device, then have it replaced." Second item of advice, "Don't forget your passcode."
One of the purposes of the lock button is to recover from certain software failures. Without the lock button, such a recovery is nearly impossible. My advice would have served you best when the malfuction first developed, not after you forgot your passcode.

Logout of the app store and iTunes store: Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Go back to home screen and reset the phone by pressing the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears then release them.
Once phone has finished rebooting go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store and login with your Apple ID and password again. Then open the iTunes Store app again.

Your account names are probably different on the two Macs. If you know the UNIX command line, open a terminal window and run:
$ id
You should see a line that starts with something like this:
uid=501(your_user_id_here)
now check the owner of the folder you copied over:
$ ls -ld Music
drwx------+ 8 some_user_id_here staff 272 May 14 16:08 Music
Do the IDs match? If not, you could change the ownership. Say your id is "johnsmith"
$ chown -R johnsmith Music
Now try and access it with iTunes.

Try doing a hard reset, Hold the "Home & Power Buttons" down at same time, until you see the Apple Icon appear. Then let go of the buttons.

I have recently switched from a PC to a MacBook Pro.
I have a large number of documents and photographs on a multiterrabite external drive, backed up on a second multiterrabite external drive.
Both external drives are formatted for MacIntosh. This has been verified by agents at an Apple store and also at Best Buy in two different cities.
This is the problem:
The MacBook Pro will not allow me to cut-and-paste to and from or to click-and-drag to the external drive. I can copy-and-paste, but then I must send the original to the trash, which doubles the time and effort. Is there any way to cut-and-paste?
Also, the MacBook Pro will not allow me to rename multiple documents or photographs. I can click-and-rename a single one, but this is impossibly time consuming. I can batch-rename in iPhoto, but when I transfer the photographs to the external drive, the rename does not transfer.
I’m reduced to using my wife’s Toshiba to cut-and-past, rename, and transfer documents. It works perfectly. Is there any way to do this on the MacBook Pro?

No, this is a philosophical difference between Apple and Microsoft. Apple believes that it's dangerous to cut a file in case the user never pastes it; in that case the file is lost. Microsoft seems to not have this problem (if I remember Windows correctly) because they don't delete the originating file if it's cut but never pasted.
Even though Macs have a lot of keyboard shortcuts, philosophically Macs have traditionally been mouse-first. This applies to file copy operations. In your case, what a Mac user would do is open the source window, open the destination window (on your second drive), and then Command-drag the selected files from the source to destination window. This is because a normal drag would leave the originals behind, while adding the Command modifier key tells OS X that this is a Move, not a Copy, so don't leave the originals behind.
(In addition there are different rules for drag-copying within the same volume or between different volumes. If you drag between two folders on the same volume, the files are moved. If you drag between different volumes, the files are copied unless you hold down Command to delete the copies on the source volume.)

Two problems in this case. First, batch file renaming is not built into OS X unless you build something with Automator. However, there are many utilities that can do batch file renaming which you can find at macupdate.com or on the App Store. Since I work with media I often batch rename using one of the media managers I have lying around like Media Pro or Adobe Bridge (comes with Photoshop).
iPhoto is a database front end designed to shield the file system from the consumer and let them concentrate on creativity and sharing. As such it is often a poor choice for managing files directly. When you "transferred the photographs" chances are you moved the originals, not the ones iPhoto edited which are stored in a hidden folder.

There will not be a way to do it exactly like Windows. As described above, there are ways to do it "the Mac way." If it is possible to remove judgment on which way is "better" you might find the Mac way to be acceptable, but of course sometimes we simply prefer what we're used to.

thats tough man, yeah exchanging it is the best option. But why do people always leave a message saying" i'll probably just by an ipod" and it's usually followed by, "even though i don't like apple or ipod" . I mean fine, if u feel like giving up on the zen micro thats fine, i personally don't care if you're going to buy an ipod. for god sakes ipod isn't even the next alternati've mp3 players, theres plenty. I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.

I am using Windows 7 32bit version on my pc and when i plug in my iphone to pc itunes starts normally and everything works fine, but when i close itunes and try to start it again itunes starts but then freezes and i start the task menager and it says its not responding so i have to restart my pc in oder to itunes work normally...i tryed reinstalling itunes and i keep my windows 7 updated also all my drivers for hardware are updated with the leatest drivers.
So if you have some tip of fix or a patch please tell me because i am going crazy here...
