What reigon is a dvd created from new using Toast?

Hi all
I've just made a dvd from some .mov files with no DRM issues using toast titanium. All fine, but I want to send it to someone in New Zealand. I'm told that the dvd will be reigon 0. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance

I have been faced with this problem before and have tried the different tools that are available including using UNIX scripts ect. I usually end up frustrated and spend half my life trying to understand how things work and how to use stuff. In the end it just became such a hassle that I gave up!!
What really crunched it was when I bought a DVD RW player and started recording stuff from the TV and found myself more and more needing to do exactly what you are saying. Take extracts from the TS_Video folder and import them into imovie.
In the end I saw an article in Mac World magazine for Cinamatize2 from http://www.miraizon.com. I have only had it a week or so, and am still getting used to it. What I will say is that it's a lot easier to use than all the other "scripts" etc that I've tried. It has a user friendly GUI and good instructions!! at the moment you can get it for just over $50 with the Mac World 10% discount. I think that it's money well spent if you intend to do this regularly!!
Steve.

Sorry, no way around this limitation on an iOS device. To use a new iCloud account, you need to create such on a computer first, then setup the account on your iOS device.

  • Playing DVDs created from Mac the Ripper...workflow?

I've used Mac the Ripper to copy a DVD I have. What is the workflow on how to make that file folder that has Audio_TS and Video_TS (created from Mac the Ripper) onto another DVD AND make it self-play once it gets inserted into the player?
    Thanks!

If you have rights/permission to copy the DVD, make a Disc Image then burn another copy from the Finder.
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/making_dvdcopies.html
Or, if the original disc isn't set for the track to be the "first play," you can use MPEG Streamclip to demux the audio and video, then use those files as assets in a new DVD-SP project for reauthoring.
Either way, I would not recommend using Mac the Ripper.

  • I have snow leopard with bootcamp what will happen if I create a new partition and install Lion

query as subject line - I was planning to create a new partition using disk utility and installing lion on that - I am aware Lion will Create a recovery partition in addition - so is it possible to have Snow with it's Bootcamp and Lion with it's recovery on my imac purchased jan 2012?
Subsequent question although I purchased Lion from the mac store can I jump straight to Mountain Lion (if I purchase it) from Snow leopard?

If you plan to create a third partition, then you will lose control over your Boot Camp partition and ability to boot Windows. You cannot have three partitions as you desire.
You can upgrade the Snow Leopard system to Lion or Mountain Lion. You can obtain another HDD and install Lion or Mountain Lion on the external drive.
Yes, you can purchase and download Mountain Lion to upgrade the Snow Leopard system.

  • What to expect to pay for a new/used iSight?

What were these iSight cameras selling for brand new when Apple sold them?
    Why did they discontinue it?
I have the 30" ACD, should I invest in a new/used one from ebay or somewhere?
What price should I expect to pay?
Would it be better to get a different camera from Logitech or something, thats cheaper and better?

I paid $129 (USD) plus tax when my Rev A external iSight was new (about 5 years ago.)

Unless you can physically examine and test an external iSight, I would not buy one now.
External iSight is a great camera, but they are getting old as electronics go, and you have no idea how the one you buy now has been used or treated by its previous owner(s).
I suggest that you buy locally and test any external iSight you are considering on your Mac before you pay for it. That way you know whether it will work, and a local seller may be able to answer questions, if any, about connecting and using iSight before you buy.
If you find one locally, use the following suggestions to test the external iSight before you buy:
      http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage4.html
Even if the external iSight you are considering is advertised as an NOS (new, old-stock) iSight, it is not likely covered by Apple Warranty. If the seller does not provide you written service guarantees or warranty, you may be want to check Apple's iSight Service: Frequently Asked Questions, especially if you cannot test the iSight before you buy to be sure it is working.
If you are interested, see this example regarding using a used external iSight:

What price should I expect to pay?
Searching eBay can show you what others have paid, but I know no way to predict what you should expect.
If you consider buying an untested external iSight via an on-line auction or other internet seller, I strongly suggest that you (try to) get a written guarantee that you can have the iSight examined by your Apple Authorized Service Provider and can have a refund or exchange if the iSight doesn't pass his checks. Such a warranty might effect your purchase price.
Would it be better to get a different camera from Logitech or something, thats cheaper and better?
    Yes.
That would be my recommendation. To cheaper and better, you can add is covered by a current warranty.

  • Transfering music from Itunes/Mac to DVD to Itunes PC using Toast

I'd like to share some of my music with a friend (long distance) who has Itunes for PC(windows). Can I burn songs onto a DVD using Toast Titanium? When he imports the music from the DVD will the song info show up on his Itunes? Will this work for purchased music too?
    Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

You can make Audio cds, and data backups of the music you purchsed from the iTMS for your personal use only. This is according to the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for your account on the iTMS. The terms of service do not allow you to "share" any music purchsed by you with anyone else.
Besides, if you want your friend to be able to play the music you want to "share" with him you will have to give him your iTMS username and password.

  • IPad app created from Captivate using PhoneGap Build has ugly warning

I have an app that is generated by Captivate 7 that I have published as HTML5 and then converted to an iPad app using Adobe PhoneGap Build.
After conversion, I get a white screen on launch with a dialog box stating "Adobe Captivate - This browser does not support some of the content in the file you are trying to view.  Use one of the following browsers."  The message includes a list of versions of Safari, Internet Explorer, and Chrome.  If I dismiss the dialog and then hit the play button, the app works fine.
With this warning, apps created from PhoneGap Build are pretty ugly.
Getting rid of the warning is mandatory for us.  I'd also like to get rid of the need to hit the Play button.

Just to clear up my third question, I'm not asking whether our customers will need a set of these credentials to access our content, I'm asking if its required I get these credentials to publish the content.

  • In what program was this PDF created from?

    Hi,
I hope someone can clue me in on how this PDF was made where I'm guessing if you have the regular Adobe Acrobat reader you can edit/interact with the file. I really love to know if there is a tutorial that can teach me how to create empty square text field for edits by other people. Here's the link
    http://www.sec.gov/about/forms/formd.pdf
I was thinking the document could have been done in Adobe InDesign or even Microsoft Word but I doubt it. And I think there might be some XML involves that I have never learn how to or know what it is.

There are any number of programs that can create a PDF form. Adobe has Acrobat, LiveCycle Designer, LiveCycle ES, InDesign. Third party providers inlcude Open Office Org and Nitro PDF. It is even possible to add form fields in a PS file and have Distiller create the form. You might want to look at the Acrobat Users Community for tutorials and eSeminars about creating forms.

  • Editing from a DVD created from a VHS tape

I have been coping a lot of VHS tapes of the kids to DVD's (DVD-RW). Now I want to load the DVD into iMovie and edit. Do anyone know of a program that will do this?
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.7)
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    http://www.miraizon.com/products/products.html
Go to the above link and download the Cinematize 2 product. This works great, and it is very easy to use. I transfered all of my old HI-8 videos to DVD. I had the SAME problem as you, I could not load the new DVDs to iMovie. Cinematize allows you to "cinematize" the DVD, to allow it to work in iMovie. I am now able to edit all of my old Hi-8 videos, because Cinematize allowed iMovie to read my newly formed DVDs.

  • Where are the persona packages stored on a Win7 PC with FF6/7b? Also, I can not find any actual info on what the process is to create a new persona theme, all of the info I can find is rather vague and never even tries to explain anything.

I want to make a custom persona, but none of the info I find on the web actually states where or how persona packages are actually stored on a Vista/Win7 PC. I'm using FF 6 and 7beta. Where the heck are custom persona stored while they are disabled?

    See also:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Themes (Lightweight theme)
    A Persona consists of two images.<br />
One large image (lightweighttheme-header, 3000x200) for the toolbars at the top and a smaller (lightweighttheme-footer, 300x100) for the footer that are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder.
The list of installed personas is stored in prefs.js in the Firefox Profile Folder in the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref in JSON object format ({"id":"#","name":"xxx",...}).
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
The first entry of that pref is the currently used persona.<br />
Only the image files of the currently selected persona are stored in the Firefox profile folder.<br />
All other personas are loaded from the server if you choose another persona.

  • What kind of cd/dvd cleaner can I use for my Macbook Pro optical drive

Can I buy any kind of cd/dvd cleaner at like best buy, or is there a specialized cleaner made only for Mac drives?
I (like most people) have been having problems with my drive and thought cleaning it might solve the issue.
    Thanks.

I have had issues for months with my MBP not reading some dual-layer DVDs.
After much trepidation I just used a cleaning disc I bought from the supermarket.
Lo and behold! My Mac now reads discs that it would previously spit out or register as blank.

  • Importing from "new" used EOS-1D Mk III - Is Canon software required?

This should be an easy one.
My camera manual says to install EOS Digital Solution software before connecting camera to computer. I just want to be sure if this isn't necessary before I connect the camera.
If I do install the software bundle can I still import to iPhoto as the default or will it automatically open and import to Canon's ImageBrowser, causing me to have to create duplicate files by transferring them to iPhoto?
    The disk contains:
    Digital Photo Pro 3.0
    ImageBrowser 5.8
    EOS Utility 2.0
    PhotoStitch 3.1
    WFT Utility 3.0
    I am on OS10.4.11 and iPhoto '08.
I am not using a card reader.
I have used 2 other camera brands (Panasonic & Olympus) with this version of iPhoto and never had to install camera manufacturer's software.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your response.
So are there any advantages to installing the Canon software? Has anyone used the Canon utilities I described above and are they useful in addition to the features in iPhoto, or are they just a duplication of file management and editing features already found in iPhoto?
I may be shooting RAW soon, and I believe compatibility isn't a problem for my camera, the 1D Mark III, which has been in production for several years.
Could I simply install the disk and play with the ImageBrowser and then reset the default to open iPhoto on import.
I just wondered if this is software that most people just leave in the package, or do many Canon users find it of use as compared with or in addition to iPhoto?
