What replaces "Flash Player" for Apple?

I've realized that I can't open any ".wmv" files and anything that uses "Flash Player", it's ticking me off. I've tried purchasing a wmv converter software for Apple but "Safari" prevents it...
Any have a solution??
Thks

No solutiom.  The Apple CEO (Steve Jobs) has stated  that Apple does not allow Flash.  Here is an excerpt from his speech in  April of last year (the italics are, of course, mine):
"Besides the fact that Flash is closed and proprietary, has major technical drawbacks, and doesn’t support touch based devices, there is an even more important reason we do not allow Flash on iPhones, iPods and iPads..."

  • What is the best available flash player for I pad 2

Please can anyone advise if ther is a suitable flash player for ipad2'

You can't download it, flash is not supported on the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch), and probably never will be : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
Depending on what websites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

  • I need adobe flash player,but apple doesn't support it...what else can I do

I need adobe flash player for my iPad,however apple doesn't support it...what else can I do

Searching the forum before posting would be your best bet. This is discussed dozens of times a day... with various (partial) workarounds posted repeatedly.
Adobe Flash does not exist for iOS devices, so no matter how much you "need" it, you can't get it.

  • What does it take for Apple to replace a Lemon?

    PowerBook G4 failures to date:
    Logic Board failure
USB port failure (2nd new logic board)
    Logic Board failure (3rd one)
    Airport card failure
    Random power failures
    Replacement power pack
    Continuing random power failures
    Overheating
...all within the first year of purchase. Now I'm waiting on hearing from Apple Customer Relations with their answer. I can't have this computer in the shop any longer as it's essential to my business.
So what did it take for Apple to replace your Lemon?

Human contact is the key. It sometimes helps to have face-to-face contact at an Apple Certified Service Center or Apple Store, as you may never know who is on the other end of your phone call (and vice versa). This way they can certify that you are not a crazy person who is abusing you powerbook, and they may have more time to test your computer until a problem surfaces, which they can then report to Apple. An ACSS can lobby on your behalf for a replacement more convincingly than you can on your own, as their professional opinion may carry more weight.
Apple replaced my 12" without a problem after replacing the logic board three times (constant unexplained kernel panics from all three). (I have heard from some that three can be the magic number.) Generally, you can argue that more than one logic board replacement is simply not cost effective for a laptop, as the board itself plus labor almost equals the cost of a new machine!
Establishing a record of problems early on is also helpful, as Apple can become wary of someone trying to score an upgrade several months after a computer is purchased.

If you find anything out please share.  I have flash projects (SWF) files created in Captivate 5 that play fine in Flash and Dreamweaver, but freeze up on the web in safari, firefox, opera and chrome.  Even files that used to play just fine.  This upgrade has been a nightmare - I have spent hours troubleshooting to no avail.  It does not seem to be a problem for windows users - only macs.

  • Why can't I get Adobe Flash player for iPhone, and if not, what else can I

Help! I want to view videos and can't do it. No flash player available. Why not?!!
    Please help.

There is no flash player for the iphone and Adobe would be the one to develop one, not Apple. And there are no plugins to install instead, as far as I know.

  • HT204266 What is the best flash player for iPad?

What is the best flash player for iPad?

Whatever works the best for you. Flash, as a program, is so inconsistently coded that there is no singular best player. Some work with one site better than others.
Try looking for ones that have a free trial so you can see how it works for you.

  • When will Apple release the flash player for ios?, This functionality is essential.

This excuse that consumes a lot of battery unconvincing, until the android supports flash.

Battery life is but one of many reasons Apple didn't approve of a Flash player for iOS. However, as stated by Stedman1, Adobe has stopped future development of all mobile flash players, not just iOS.
There are some third party apps in the App store that will allow some flash content to be utilized. Puffin, Skyfire Photon, Playable, are just a handful of the apps available in the App Store. Feel free to try out some of those, but read the descriptions and reviews first to make sure it will allow the types of content that you are hoping to access.

    NKafafi88-
There may be a couple Apps that may help, but I understand they don't work very well.  The best solution would be to contact the owners of the websites and let them know they need to update their site.
The alternative I use, is to download the problem video onto my computer, and convert it to M4V or MP4 format using a program like HandBrake <HandBrake>.  Then it can be added to iTunes and synced with the iPad.

  • I need flash player for iPad 2 what's available out there?

I need flash player for iPad 2, what's currently out there ?

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.
If you do a search on this forum you will find hundreds of other threads on the subject.
