WHAT RESOLUTION TO MAKE LOGOS FOR IMPORTING

Hi to all!
I'm not clear on something:
I have a custom logo made with fonts in CS2. When importing this to FCP 5.0.4, to overlay onto a scene -- do you put the logo with the fonts on a transparent layer, flatten it, and then save at what resolution and file type?
I take it a TIFF would work or a PNG....but what resolution? And the color space I assume is RGB?
many thanks!
-TEXASFLOOD

Resolution is meaningless in video. You can create your image in any application at any size you want. Just remember your video window is a set number of pixels.
Flatten your image in PS to a format that includes transparency.
Know that there are pixel aspect ratio issues. Photoshop creates square pixels, video is rectangular pixels.
:Large section in the FCP manual on getting stuff form Photoshop into FCP but I haven't used FCPv5 or CS2 for many years.

  • What resolution to convert videos for iphone 4?

I am converting some videos to play on my iPhone 4.  I am using AVS Video converter 7 and so far I am having no problems except 1.  On my first few videos converted and uploaded to my iPhone, the quality and even file size was great, however the resolution (or aspect ratio? I'm no pro when it comes to this) is what I concider extended widescreen.  Meaning that the width fits across the width of my phone just fine, but the height is pretty small, leaving black bars on the top and bottom of the screen, as like with an older square TV viewing a widescreen movie. (and YES I am viewing it in lansdcape orientation) Tapping the zoom/fullscreen button on the screen has no effect also.  The result of this makes the movie kind of difficult to view.  The video converter has iPhone presets which sets the resolution at 640x420.  Is this the correct setting?  If not what is to make the video the full size of my screen without having to zoom or crop anything?

The specifications for movies are listed on Apple's iPhone website.

  • What resolution should i take for a movie to be played on 70X20 LED display?

I am working on an animated video that will be played on 70X20 Feet LED display. What resolution should i take?

size of the screen is 80640 X 23040 (in pixels)
You are going to need a monster to playback something like that. Are you sure? The max comp size in AE is 30,000 pixels. Your specs claim a requirement for 80,640 which is about 20 4K displays.
The data rate for a comp that is 42 times wider than HD would be crazy and probably require an array of high end server grade machines and fiber optics to push even 20 fps video through the system.
As I said before, you MUST contact the manufacturer for their exact media specifications.

  • What resolution are photos optimized for ipod display? (post computer sync)

From what I've read here, iPod touch forces photos sync'ed from a computer through a optimization step for display on the iPod (and TV). Full-resolution images can only be stored on iPods that have "enable disc use" mode (which iPod touch does not have), and even that mode on older iPods could not be viewed/displayed on the iPod itself.
    Just curious...
    1) what resolution finally ends up on the iPod side (not sure if it is the same as older iPods)
    2) if the zooming feature on the touch goes beyond the optimized photo resolution to the point of interpolation to fill in the blanks
Thank you ahead of time for your insight.

Your Mac needs adequate hard drive space to operate normally. How full can a drive be before it's too full? There is no hard and fast rule that says “X” amount or “%” of free drive space is needed. A low amount of RAM requires more drive space for Virtual Memory’s swap files. As a general rule, your available space should be 5GB as an absolute minimum as it generally requires that much free space to perform an Archive and Install of Mac OS X and still preserve some free space for VM swap files. What size HD do you have?

  • What encoder MP3 uses iTunes for import CD?

I have a PC with Windows XP SP2 c Windows Media Player 9 with a installed Intervideo XPack (MP3 encoder and DVD codec). My WMP uses to import CD encoder from Intervideo.
*My question is: what encoder uses iTunes? Own or from Windows?*
P.S. Sorry for my english, i'm russian.

I understand iTunes uses its own MP3 encoder and it has performed badly in listening tests.
    http://www.rjamorim.com/test/mp3-128/results.html
If you want to use MP3 it is probably better to rip your CDs with another program even if you use iTunes for listening.
    This doesn't apply to AAC.

  • What resolution to export images for projection?

I am trying to figure out what to set the tage parmaeters in Foto Magico for a slideshow to be projected. The only information I have about the projector is that "images are generally best at 1050 on thier longest side." Not very helpful. I have multiple dimensions - 4:3, square, etc. Just trying to figure out what to set the stage to so I can create an export parameter fpr my images at 1050 on longest side still have some black around. The only info I can find is HD resolution, which I don't want as it seems to be cropping my 4:3 images. Any thoughts or FM users?
    thanks
    Nancie

I agree it isn't very helpful...but that is all I have been told. Still trying to fiond out what the projector resolution is.
I am using a fit within...but everything I am reading about projectors tells me I should be able to use higher resolution for a projector. This is more of a Foto Magico question as it pertains to images coming from Aperture.
It is less the image resolution and more the slideshow settings I am trying to figure out. Maybe this is not the right place to post...  Thanks Frank.

  • What is the correct preset for import of 1080i footage

I have a Sony HDR-HC3 camera and have captured my footage on the 1080i setting. I now wish to import it into Premiere CS-3 with eventual output onto a Blu-Ray disc to be played primarily on a Sony 1080p television. My question is: What preset should I be using for the video input. The choices I see under HDV are 1080i25 (50i), 1080i30 (60i), HDV 1080p25, and HDV 1080p30. I dont fully understand the differences between these settings and would like to know what I should be using, or what the advantages/disadvantages of these settings are.
    Thank you,
    BC

If you're in North America or other NTSC territory you use 1080i30 (60i); if in Europe or other PAL territory you use 1080i25 (50i), because those are the only formats this cam shoots, and it only shoots the format appropriate for your area (not both).
All this is detailed in the "Specifications" section of your manual (page 123 for HC3, page 119 for HC3E).

  • What size to make stage for ios phone devices

OK this may sound like a really stupid question and it probably is.... my apologies in advance.
I have successfully created an iOS app for the iPad but want to make a phone version now... what size should I make my stage for it? I want it to work on iphone 5 and 4 series?
    Any quick advice?

if the runmode <> "Author" then
        (the stage).rect =  (the desktopRectList)[1]
        (the stage).drawRect = (the desktopRectList)[1]
      end if
Is the quick & dirty way, but the rescale drops the fps.

  • Tabular Modeling. What is the best practice for importing data into VS to limit the records in the designer?

Should I wrap the queries in a procedure with a @StartDate and @EndDate and create a test partition to pass a small date range?
Or can i use the Table properties screen to put the command there and will it run and not be affected or affect the partitions? This would be nice if this SQL statement on this screen was independent of the partitions and I could just leave it with the the
command text = EXEC TransactionDetail '2014-01-01', '2014-05-31' Especially since if you have many tables that load based on a date range. i would not want to jump in and change that query on all of them.
Is there a a way to have a parameter in the project so all tables would get the same @startDate and @EndDate so I could change it in one place?
And I am not stuck to these questions\options, If there is a better way to mass change the queries to run a subset of data for the designer I'd like to hear it.
    Thank You,
    Phil

    Hi Phil,
According to your description, you are looking for the best way to control the rows that are loaded into a table, right?
When importing data to a table of tabular model, we can apply filters to control the rows that are loaded into a table. After you have imported the data, you cannot delete individual rows. However, you can apply custom filters to control the way that
rows are displayed. Rows that do not meet the filtering criteria are hidden. For the detail information about it, please refer to the link below.Filter Data in a Table (SSAS Tabular)
If I have anything misunderstand, please point it out.

  • What Are the Recommended Guidelines for Importing HTML into InDesign?

I would like to introduce an html document into an InDesign project - is that even possible?
I'm not an MS Word user, but am running Open Office, should that be required in addition to having the entirety of the Extended CS6 Design-Web suite.
Thank you very much for any replies.
    Kind regards,
    Kelly

    Hi Petteri,
    Thanks for answering.
The final format would be destined for the printer who would prefer the file to be from InDesign.
I'm aware of the quality differences between images intended for print and those for the web.
The short version of the idea is to take the tabular (i.e., ugly) data generated from one program and edit it into something more attractive while also making the folks at the print shop happy. WTides (or some other derived flavor of XTides) can generate plain text or html tables. The html can be templated so that there is a minimal amount of post editing required. The images in the html tags can be high resolution images of the various symbols; e.g., moon phases, etc.
Thank you again for any suggestions.
    Kelly

  • What resolution to scan photos for viewing in Premiere?

I am currently undertaking a documentary and will be using a lot of still photographs that I want to pan and zoom with.. I am scanning the photos at 400dpi and you can go in quite close in Photoshop with no distortion but in Premiere it has no resolution at all?? When I bump up the dpi to 1200 it says the image is too big to bring into Premiere... So before I go scanning my hundreds of photos I need to sort out this problem..
Probably something really simple but can anyone help me???

The max size for Premiere Pro is 4096X4096 if I remember correctly.
If you want to scan larger than that, you can pick the best part of the image and use Photoshop to scale it down.
Or, use After Effects to do the zoom in, since AE can handle 30,000X30,000 IIRC.
You might even find Photoshop Extended's timeline sufficient for zooming (although no "easy ease" is available to my knowledge).

  • What is the best compression choice for importing audio?

    Hi
What is the best setting for importing audio into itunes?
    thnx

There is no "best", it depends on what is important to you.
If you want the same fidelity as the CD use AIFF, but this will result in very large files and reduce the number of songs you can put on your iPod.
If you want more songs on your iPod use 128 AAC. I wouldn't go any smaller for music.
If you want a compromise try Apple Lossless. Keep in mind if you have a Shuffle that Apple Lossless files won't work on that device.
