10 bit uncompressed would be the best you can capture from digi betacam...

I just connected my wife's Mac Mini running OS 10.6.8 to an IG 32' monitor. What resolution should I select from the menu in order to provide maximum screen appearance? My wife has AMD and a visual acuity of 20/400 with central scotonata.
In System Preferences:Displays you have an option to show
Displays Prefs in the title bar above the screen - where she can
iteratively adjust to her liking. Higher screen resolutions, ironically,
result in smaller characters so adjust to suit. Below, Displays is
4th from L.

How can you tell what resolution a movie is?
How can you tell in iMovie 09 what resolution a movie is?
The only two have used were HD and standard, but we are not sure which in our collection are which.
Is there an easy way to tell?
Thanks.
macEasiest way is to open the clip using QuickTime Player. Then click Command-I to open the inspector.

I use Debian and Gimp program to make my own personas but it seem like I have to know what resolution or interpolation is needed for the best result. I am trying to make one in size of 3000px wide x 200px high but don't know what resolution and interpolation is matching the requirements of Firefox or personas. For ex: in Gimp when scaling an image the interpolation possibilities are 4 like:
None
Linear
Cubic

What resolution should i take for a movie to be played on 70X20 LED display?
I am working on an animated video that will be played on 70X20 Feet LED display. What resolution should i take?
size of the screen is 80640 X 23040 (in pixels)
You are going to need a monster to playback something like that. Are you sure? The max comp size in AE is 30,000 pixels. Your specs claim a requirement for 80,640 which is about 20 4K displays.
The data rate for a comp that is 42 times wider than HD would be crazy and probably require an array of high end server grade machines and fiber optics to push even 20 fps video through the system.
As I said before, you MUST contact the manufacturer for their exact media specifications. -

What resolution are photos optimized for ipod display? (post computer sync)
From what I've read here, iPod touch forces photos sync'ed from a computer through a optimization step for display on the iPod (and TV). Full-resolution images can only be stored on iPods that have "enable disc use" mode (which iPod touch does not have), and even that mode on older iPods could not be viewed/displayed on the iPod itself.
Just curious...
1) what resolution finally ends up on the iPod side (not sure if it is the same as older iPods)
2) if the zooming feature on the touch goes beyond the optimized photo resolution to the point of interpolation to fill in the blanks
Thank you ahead of time for your insight.Anyone know?

HT202856 What resolutions and refresh rates does the MacBook Pro support?
Why does this article provide lots of useful information EXCEPT the piece I want? It does not show what resolutions and refresh rates the MacBook Pro supports over Displayport:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
I've heard it only supports 4k at 30 Hz. Is this true? For some reason Displays no longer shows that information, so I don't know what it is. However, the last time I saw the information on a 2009 MBP it was 75.
I'd think there is a utility around that might provide the info like Display Maestro 1.1.7 or SwitchResX. -
What resolution is my book being uploaded at?
Hi,
I've read on a few forums that all books uploaded from iPhoto are now uploaded at 300dpi.
Previous versions of iPhoto were reported to only upload the small books at 300dpi and the medium and large books at a lower resolution.
Can someone please confirm what resolution the iPhoto books are now uploaded at (for all sizes), and when/if this changed - i.e. what version of iPhoto.
Thanks,
Drofhere are the default settings for iPhoto '08

defaults:

Generally the max is 300 dpi and the warning come up at 130 dpi or lower - so it depends on the size photo etc
If you use your largest photos and if you get warnings select a smaller photo frame in your book you will be fine

Photos - What Resolution and Format?
I've just got a 5G black Video iPod.
I want to learn how to make the best use of it's photo capabilities.
I'm quite techy and would like to understand what the iPod does with Photos for viewing on it's internal screen and/or for output to a TV. I understand that the iPod can make full quality copies of photos for archive/backup purposes. My questions are not about this particular function.
MY QUESTIONS
What's the ideal format for photos prior to importing into the iPod? (I'm guessing TIFF or similar uncompressed file format to avoid recompression artefacts as a result of the transfer to iPod)
What image format is used by the iPod. JPEG?
What's the minimum size (in pixels) for the source photos to still ensure maximum quality on the iPod.
I believe that the 5G iPod screen is 320 x 240 pixels. What resolution is the TV video output?
Does the iPod store 2 versions of each picture, one for it's own screen and one for the TV out?
If 2 versions are stored then what resolution are these images?
Is there any benefit in preparing images specifically for import to iPod to avoid any manipulation taking place during the import process?
Thanks for any answers or any other useful info on these issues.
GeoffBarb,
Iv'e just spent the past 3 hours scanning these posts to see if there was an answer to my delima. I have a 5g 60g photo ipod that I purchased for the sole use of down loading and viewing photos. Among the numerous issues I have already- Ive just directly down loaded a batch of pics from my camera. In this batch was a variety of .JPG and .TIFF files. Only the .jpg pics show up on the ipod. The .tiff pics show up as squares with RAW in the description. I think from this post you are saying that the ipod will display many forms of pic files including .tiff format. Please tell me what to do to make these show up. I would hate to think I just dropped $300 plus to NOT be able to download and view these pictures. I shoot primarily in the .tiff mode Thanks for your help

Anybody know what resolution and KBPS quality apple use in their SD movies?
I want to digitize some of my movies into the MP4 format so I can watch it on my apple tv.
this is mostly children tv (thomas tank engine and so on). problem with dvd's is that we need to change often and they get worn. children do change their mind very often.
so, a digitized version in my Apple tv would be nice.
I Use DVD FAB 5.
but when it comes to the kbps setting what should I choose?
I think that I can use the same setting as Apple them self. I bought walle movie and that was 1.1 GB and had very nice look.
anybody know what resolution and KBPS quality apple use in their SD movies?anybody know what resolution and KBPS quality apple use in their SD movies?
They are generally encoded at 1500 Kbps for video and 128 Kbps for audio and a resolution of 640 x 480 depending on the aspect ratio.
The ToU of this forum forbid discussion about circumventing copy protection, so I'm not willing to comment on the rest of your question.

What resolution should I use?
I'm trying to creat a special graphic image to upload onto iWeb, but t always is A LOT smaller once loaded onto iWeb, what resolution should I use to create the image initially? I've ried 72 dpi but it still came out tiny.
ThanlsThanX Kevin;
That's the core of the issue I'd also had with taking those suggestions into PhotoShop and then back to iWeb. Tu whit..:
In instances of some larger graphics, I've found a conundrum of going from one to the other not reproducing the image as the same size. I can paste back into iWeb something just copied from PhotoShop, and it'll be a third the original. How to deal with that.?
When I tried to increase my 'canvas size' and then blow up the graphic, I'm told that the "Clipboard export failed because it is too big to export."..? Yeah, it's a whole page graphic that I'd blown up almost 3x so that it's import into iWeb would be close to the original (out of iWeb).
So I tried various test graphics to see which yielded what. It would seem for my CS2 and iWeb1.1.2, there's some upper threshold, beyond which iWeb will only accept/display it around 300 pxs.
What's wrong with that picture.? How come I seem to be forced away from the recommendation not to resize in iWeb.? Or is there some secret combination to getting large (almost full page) images into iWeb without have to adjust them.?
Also I'd found what seems an anomaly with the idea of file size increase with iWeb adjustment. I checked my locally published files for pages I'd tried to use an image for background. The png size is declared by the finder to be 36K; but the original, a jpg, is listed as 76k. This seems the inverse of what I'd understood to have been recommended; particularly so for me when I'd set iWeb up to manipulate this image to fit the page by selecting "stretch". What's wrong with my understanding here.?
and so; what IS the definitive best way to get large size graphics into iWeb as small size files..? -
What resolution does Pages export Images to EPUB?
I was wondering what resolution Pages09 Exports images to EPUB (which are then readable in iBooks2?)
In other programs from Adobe and others you can control the Image conversion Resolution before you Click "Export" to EPUB?I agree it isn't very helpful...but that is all I have been told. Still trying to fiond out what the projector resolution is.
I am using a fit within...but everything I am reading about projectors tells me I should be able to use higher resolution for a projector. This is more of a Foto Magico question as it pertains to images coming from Aperture.
It is less the image resolution and more the slideshow settings I am trying to figure out. Maybe this is not the right place to post... Thanks Frank. -
How can I tell what resolution a PDF is?
Hi. Can anyone please tell me how to tell what resolution a PDF is? Thanks in advance.
PDF files are not images, but vector-based documents. They don't have a
single resolution. They can contain images with varying resolution settings.

What resolution do still photos have to be to be imported into FCP X
I am using stills in a video. What resolution and what dimensions do they have to be before importing them into FCP X?
SSpatial conform sets how the media is sized when placed in a project. The help files and manual will the explain the details.
Sill till images are not video. They need to be rendered for true video playback. Set playback to best quality rather than better performance. -

MacBook Air. December 2010It depends on which model you have:

11" - 1366x768
This of course assumes you are talking about your internal display.
