What rights are required to connect to WSUS server usig console

Hi all,
I have a WSUS server installed and it is joined to a domain. Another user from domain needs to connect to this WSUS server using a WSUS Management console. What rights does this user needs to be given on WSUS server so that he would be able to connect to
server and be able to release patches?
Regards, Darshan G. Parab

What rights does this user needs to be given on WSUS server so that he would be able to connect to server and be able to release patches?
The domain user should be added to the local WSUS Administrators group to be able to approve patches.
I would suggest creating a Domain Security Group, adding the domain account to the Domain Security Group, and then adding the Domain Security Group to the WSUS Administrators local group on the WSUS server. However, while this is a more conformant way to
configure the security, it also requires the user to logoff/logon (to get the domain group SID in the user's account token) and it requires the WSUS server to be restarted (to get the domain group SID in it's computer account token).
You may determine that adding the domain user direct to the group is a necessary short-term implementation, and defer the use of groups until such time as the WSUS server can be restarted (which, given that yesterday was Patch Tuesday, will probably be in
the next few days anyway).

  • What cables are required to connect Mid 2010 MacBook Pro to my TV?

    Hi,
I've seen a number of forum posts stating that there are mixed issues with different models of MacBook Pro's and connecting to your television. I have a mid 2010 model, 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, purchased in August of that year.
I have an Apple TV hooked up, which is fab for my iTunes music, pics and movies, however I'd like to get the SkyGo/Anytime+ working but can only do so by buying an X-Box or a cable - You've guessed it, the cable wins!
Would someone please be able to point me in the right direction? Some of the info I have found is quite conflicting.
    Many thanks in advance.

Assuming your TV has HDMI inputs, you will need a mini-Displayport-to-HDMI adapter that supports audio, and a standard HDMI cable of the appropriate length. Your MacBook Pro outputs an audio signal through its Mini-Displayport, unlike earlier models. Once you make the physical connection, you'll have to select the proper HDMI port as the input in the TV's menu system, and select the TV (or perhaps "HDMI") as the output device in the Output tab of the Sound pane in System Preferences on the Mac.
Conflicting information most often gets posted here when responders are guessing about the equipment being used. You've done a good job of identifying your MBP model, so answering your question with assurance is easy.

  • SSIS 2012: What rights are needed to connect to SSDB via DMO

I'm trying to connect to the SSDB catalog to execute a package using the .NET object model as per
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/21978.execute-ssis-2012-package-with-parameters-via-net.aspx?CommentPosted=true#commentmessage
The problem is if I do this with a normal user I get
       The server principal "XXXX"
is not able to access the
    database \"SSISDB\" under the
    current security context.
If I grant the user sysadmin rights it works, but the old Integration Services model of granting db_ssisadmin doesn't help
    Paul

As far as I know db_ssisadmin is a msdb role so it wont work well with package access control for packages stored in IS Catalog. It will be relevant only in cases where package is stored in msdb.
If you're using catalog (2012 deployment) you should be using ssis_Admin role which is what SSISDB provides you with for access control

  • What steps are required to uninstall OS X Server?

I had installed OS X Server on my MacBook and it was working fine.  Then I installed a trial version of AdmitMac to test the active directory client capabilities.  Now my OS X Server is messed up.  I can't set up device management, so I want to completely uninstall and reinstall.  Has anyone done that?

If you just want to reinstall Server.app from scratch, then issue this command in Terminal:
    sudo rm /var/db/.ServerSetupDone
Now when you launch Server.app, it'll go through the install wizard again.

    hi Dan
this is covered in the Rapid Clone documents -- Refreshing a Target System
Note: 230672.1 - Cloning Oracle Applications Release 11i with Rapid Clone
Note: 406982.1 - Cloning Oracle Applications Release 12 with Rapid Clone
you should run adautocfg.sh on the application tier as well. Otherwise the essential information regarding your application tier will not be registered within the database and you will not be able to connect to your database through the application.
adcfgclone will not be necessary on the application tier.
Yes, you need to run AutoConfig to populate FND_NODES with the application nodes information. You may also need to clear the FND_NODES table as described in the following note:

  • What settings are required for DP_PROC_TY,CT_PROC_TY,TEND_TYPE

    hai friends
what settings are required for DP_PROC_TY,CT_PROC_TY,TEND_TYPE
    Thanks a lot
    Regards
    VinayKrishna

    Hi Vinay,
    1. For DP_PROC_TY  you need to give the transaction type or R/3 document type you want to use for creating direct material POs. Could be ECDP given in the standard or copy of which you might  have created.
    2. For CT_PROC_TY it is either PCTR or GCTR depending what you want to create local contract or GOA.
    3. TEND_TYPE can have BID, RFCR etc depending on what type of bid invitaion you want to create form sourcing cockpit or as follow on bid invitaion.

    >
Here is a relevant quote from the 'Lock Modes' section of the doc that Ed Stevens provided
    >
Assume that a transaction uses a SELECT ... FOR UPDATE statement to select a single table row. The transaction acquires an exclusive row lock and a row share table lock. The row lock allows other sessions to modify any rows other than the locked row, while the table lock prevents sessions from altering the structure of the table. Thus, the database permits as many statements as possible to execute.
    >
The above describes the locks when you, the user, tells Oracle to lock the row.

  • Creative Cloud notification "Administration rights are required-" but nowhere to enter credentials

I told Creative Cloud (the menubar balloon) to go ahead and install CC 2014 updates, and left the computer to update. Later, I had to reboot the computer due to a power failure (all items now show as "Up to date" in the Apps tab). But I'm getting Notifications every 10 seconds saying, "Creative Cloud. Administration rights are required to complete Adobe Add-ons installation or removal." I'm happy to provide those credentials, but there is nowhere to type them! I've looked in all the tabs in the Creative Cloud balloon, and displayed all windows (so it's not hidden under something else).
SOLUTION: I quit Creative Cloud, then opened Creative Cloud again. The notifications are no longer displaying, and applications are all up to date. Apparently something was confused by the power outage.

  • GRID Control Server (OMS) - what services are required?

What services are required (and what is the startup order) on the Windows 2003 GRID Control Server (OMS). The target database is 10g on Solaris.

    Hi.
I assume that you have three folders in the oms installation folder, called oms, agent and db.
You should first start the grid database on the 2003 server along with the listener from the db folder.
Than you should install the application server processes by running:
opmnctl startall from the oms\opmn\bin - folder.
Than you should start the agent by runnint agent\bin\emctl start agent
You should further start the agent on the Solaris node and verify the upload to oms:
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl start agent
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl status agent
    Good luck
