What's a good forge game for the iPad?

I was wondering if there was a game for the iPad kind of like Gary's Mod or the forge on Halo Reach.

There isn't one, and there won't be one. Apple and Adobe could never get a flash player that worked. And now since Adobe has ceased all production on mobile flash, there won't ever be one.
Your best alternative is to explore the app store for browsers that support flash and see if one of them will do what you want.

  • What is a good protective case for the ipad 4th gen?

    Hi,
I recently bought my first iPad (ipad 4). I want to get a protective case in case I drop it. Some of the features I want include, 360 degree viewing angle, auto wake and sleep (doesn’t have to have this but would be nice) I don’t want big case like the otter box cases. I want a folio case with different viewing angles.
the reason i want it to rotate is because i want to record lectures. so if you know of any cases let me know!
if you could help me out that would be great! I have been researching for over a week! You guys have never failed me before!
is the ipad smart COVER offer any protection?
    Thanks
    Austin

For drop protection, you aren't going to get much better than the Otter, but yes it will add some bulk to the iPad (really any high level drop protection case will). That isn't to say other cases will not offer some protection against dropping, but not as effective. The Apple Smart cover offers no back protection at all, and the Smart Case only minimal.
Not sure what you mean by "360 degree viewing angle" or why it would matter. Any case offering a portrait and a landscape orientation should work. (also not so sure how effective at recording lectures the iPad would be). There are literally hundreds of polio type cases available. Most will offer a number of angles in landscape mode, but fewer for portrait mode.
Even some fairly inexpensive folio cases offer the smart cover function.
I would recommend a trip to a full service electronics store such as Best Buy and have a look yourself. Really the only way you will be able to make a decision.

  • Overall how good is Numbers for the IPAD?

Overall how good is Numbers for the IPAD?

Learning curve required  but it works well. The user quide is very good, maybe look at that first..
Different options available on Numbers for iPad to what's available on Numbers for Mac.
Dragging around spreadsheet columns on an iPad is fun but probably overall not as intuitive as most apps until you get used to it.

  • Good strategy/simulation game for the iPad?

I want a strategy or simulation game for my iPad that I can play either for hours or just for a few minutes. Something similar to Farmville or Tiny Tower, but very entertaining. The graphics and overall design need to be good.

Looking for any 1st Person shooter games like Marine Sharpshooter for the iPad, can't seem to find them.

  • What antivirus protection do I need for the iPad?

I am seeing some unusual activity after receiving an email.  What antivirus protection should we be considering for the ipad2?

None - there are no viruses for the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch), and therefore there are no antivirus apps available in the iTunes App Store

  • What anti-theft solutions are best for the ipad?

    Hello,
I would like to know which anti-theft solutions are best for the IPad. I am ordering several for work and I would like to know. Thanks.

It depends upon how far you are willing to go.  Keeping it locked in a bank vault comes to mind but I suppose you want more flexibility.  Are you talking about physical attachment or just something to discourage a thief, or something to protect data integrity in case of theft? Realize that in many situations somebody may steal something and only later check if it has any value.  If it doesn't they will toss it in the nearest river, but you've still lost it.  As for iPads, a thief can reset one and it's like new.
Find My iPad - http://www.apple.com/ipad/icloud/#find - has to be enabled before device is lost.  It also requires the device be on and connected to registered WiFi network or data service, and not having been restored by the finder (if it was really stolen then the thief has probably restored it).  If you have activated the "Find My" feature, go to https://www.icloud.com or use the Find My iPhone app - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-my-iphone/id376101648?mt=8
Setting up iCloud (requires iOS5) - http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html - includes activating the 'Find My' feature.

  • What is a good defragmenting software for the mac, and what is the price ranges if there are mutiple ones?

I have had my mac for about a 1 year 5 months, coming onto 6 months. And I want to keep it running in top shape, or as close as it can get. I Am just wondering what is are good softwares for defragmenting a Macbook and what are the price ranges, and what are the recommendations. Which would you rate from best to worst in other words.

First Mac OS X doesn't need defragged. If your harddrive is ~80% full heavy downloading could hurt disk performance but I'd say you're in the clear. If Apple considered defragging a necessity they would have included it into Disk Utility.

  • Looking for a good folio case for the iPad mini... any suggestions?

I'm interested in a good folio case that includes the smart cover feature.  I'm particularly interested in a case that has durability (most of the inexpensive ones on Amazon seem to fall apart over time).
The other feature I'd like would be for the case to fold flat against the back in reading mode; even be held magnetically in that position.
In any event, what are you all using and what would you recommend?

If you enable your iPod for disk use, you should be able to do this without utilities (unless iTunes checks for this kind of thing). See, all of your music is stored (with garbled filenames) under <D:/iPod_Control/Music/> (where "D" is your iPod). So if you use iTunes's "Add Folder to Library" on the "iPod_Control/Music" folder, it should import your iPod files.
    So do this,
    1. Set Windows to show hidden files and folders, if it isn't already. There are plenty of guides for this on Google.
    2. Open iTunes.
    3. Enable disk use on your iPod, if you haven't already.
    4. Go to File > Add Folder to Library....
    5. In the Open Folder dialog box, navigate to your iPod.
    6. Go into the iPod_Control folder.
    7. Select the Music folder. Click OK.
Note that on Windows, the iPod_Control folder (and its contents) are hidden, so you need to set Windows to show hidden files and folders.

  • What is a compatible signal booster for the ipad?

There are a number of signal boosters for cell phones.  A few of them advertise that they work with aircards.  Does anyone know if there are signal boosters compatible with the ipad or what specifications I need to research?  It would be good to be able to access verizon when I'm traveling if I need a boost in signal.
    Thanks for your input.

  • What's a good Charging Habit for my iPad 3?

I need a good habit for charging my new iPad since the battery drains quickly. Can you help me out? Thanks!

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • What are some business uses to for the ipad?

I'm looking for some business reasons to purchase the new Ipad 2.

I'm probably not much use to you, then, as I know absolutely nothing about accounting.  For presentation apps, there's Apple's own Keynote, so you'd just need an adapter to connect the iPad to a TV or projector plus the Keynote app.  Alternately, you could get an Airport Express, hook that up to your TV or projector and then use Airplay to display your presentation from the iPad wirelessly.  I don't have personal experience with that, though, so I don't know how well it works.
As for tax apps, I see a bunch in the iTunes Store, but I don't know whether any would be of any use to you.  You might want to check that out before buying...  you can browse apps in iTunes all you like without having to have an iPad first, though of course you won't want to buy any if you don't plan to get an iPad.

  • What's a good intuos5 tablet for the beginner?

    Hi...
I've been looking at some of the intuos5 tablets out there...  I'd like to get a small tablet preferably wireless which would allow me to sketch and create my own designs. logos, and even some gothic type imagery from sketches.
I'm by no means a pro at sketching but I do have some skill and would like to give it a try...  But I don't know which tablet is right for my needs.  I'd like it to be compatible with the variety of Adobe Software Products I own...  What (small) tablet does Intuos make that would suit might needs and not break my budget?
    Thanks In Advance!

Good is relative.  Google for reviews and pick one.  Navigon and TomTom are popular.  Mapquest is pretty good and free.
Personally, I much prefer a standalone nav device, i.e. a Garmin Nuvi.

  • What's a good illuminated keyboard for the iMac?

Last time I checked there wasn't one. Logitech has an illuminated keyboard but it just says it's for windows.
I was wondering if there have been any new products.
    Paul

Currently using the logitech K800 illuminated keyboard, seems to be fine.  speaker controls work, display brightness controls are the scroll lock and pause break keys. Its nice having a DELETE button that works like it should.  The "Windows" button is the Mac "flower" button.  With the unifying receiver it connects flawlessly, and faster than the mac keyboard.  Since I am using Boot camp with windows on it, it has the familiarity I need to be productive.
    Hope this helps.
