i use iKlear for the monitor, but wha about the actual case, I use brasso for my ipod, but the case is made from different materials isn't it?

Any general all-purpose cleaner like Windex or even just rubbing Alcohol will do fine.
DO NOT apply anything directly to the keyboard. Unplug the keyboard and wet a lint-free cloth with your cleaner and then use that to wipe the keys and surfaces down. Shake the keyboard out upside down for disloging crumbs and other debris, and use a can of compressed air occassionally. These should be all you need to do.

The "Everything Mac" book that came with my iMac says to clean the display with water only using the cloth that came with the machine or another clean, soft lint-free cloth. An Apple Reseller in this area suggested using a micro-fiber cloth; I have one but haven't tried it yet.

The usual advice on here is to avoid all programs that promise to 'clean your Mac' - they can do more harm than good, occasionally deleting vital system files. The possible exceptions are OnyX and Cocktail which seem to safely run some maintenance processes.
If your Mac is running slowly there is likely another cause. Do you have any anti-virus software running (often a cause of poor performance)?

It is recommended to use a lint free/microfible cloth to clean the screen. Before proceeding to cleaning, request you to turn of the product and then move the cloth in small circles. IF you have any dust that cannot be removed through microfible cloth, then use a cotton cloth and slightly dampen it and move your hand in small circles ove rthe cleaning surface.

I bought a bottle of 'screen cleaner'(for computers and cameras.) I spread it on the screen (it looks like hair mousse) and wiped it with soft cloth.... It left marks! I tried it many times but couldn't make it spotless ...
Should I use window cleaner instead ... since the outer screen is made of glass?

Cleaning Your iMac Screen

I have tried things that immediately came to mind, and nothing quite worked like this... So simple!
1. Take a fluffly washcloth (not a scratchy, worn out one), wet it with warm tap water, and ring it out.
2. Have handy a fluffly white cotton T-shirt (again, not an old, scratchy, worn out one), neatly folded with no seams or stitching on the wiping surface.
3. Wipe the screen with the damp washcloth in circular buffing motion.
4. Immediately dry off the screen with the smooth side of the folded cotton T-shirt.
Note: You will need to position your hand behind the screen in order to steady the monitor as you buff the front firmly.
Makes my screen look like brand new everytime!

Whats the best audio interface for iMac

In the price range $300 - $800, what is the highest quality audio interface with lowest latency, assuming you only need 2 line inputs, 2 XLR inputs, headphone output, 2 speaker outputs. (More I/O is certainly OK). I plan on buying an iMac quad core i7 with 8 Gs of RAM.

I'm just curious how often you all dust/clean your iMac? I've noticed that my iMac gets pretty dust (new house), and I was just wondering how often I should be dusting it.
Also, what is the best way to clean dirt off the keyboard keys (wireless keyboard)?
Lastly, is it worth opening up my iMac to clean the dust out of it?

If you periodically shut down (stopping the fans) and vacuum the air intakes (the bottom grill and small vent on the back under the stand) you should not need to open it up for years. The trick is to not touch or disturb any dust that builds up on the grills when the fans are running.
Do not blow air into the intakes, all that will do is blow dust deeper into the iMac.....
I have vacuumed the air intakes on my iMac every three months sense Jan of 2006 and it runs as cool as the day I bought it. I opened it up in Jan of 2009 to upgrade the Hard Drive and there was almost no dust collected on the fans or anywhere on the inside.

What can you do if your iMac is pre-2007 (2006 in this case), what can be done to upgrade OS 10.6.8, which is no longer being supported? According to Mavericks system requirements, it won't work. And I have "only" 3 Gb of RAM...
