I can't answer to all your questions, however I can tell you that:
2) The directory where to put the report file is specifiend in a file named
<serverName>.conf
in the sourceDire property
<property name="sourceDir" value="/directory/dove/mettere/i/report"/>
that you can find under ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf
3) The URL is
http://<server IAS address>:<port number>/<jsp file path>/<repName>.jsp?server=<report server name>&userid=<user>/<pwd>@<DB conn string>[&<param>=<valore>[&...]]
5) In IE you have only to set the previous URL in the address bar.

Please update the viewlet or make it available to email or download.
ThanksActually you don't need to see that viewlet. Just follow the easy follow-by steps in Metalink Note 240819.1 "How to Generate Excel output in browser using Reports9i JSP". This is faster done than watching the viewlet! You can use it for 9i and as well for 10g.
Please note the reference to note 271590.1 in the end of the document. Without that it won't work on 10g.

Rana AdnanUsually you don't have to do anything. Your rdf or rep files can run both in client server or web mode.

What is wrong with the report generation toolkit????
OK. Now I'm a little frustrated.
I started this thread, but then made an ugly workaround until someone tells me the correct solution.
So now.... my compiled application can find all the toolkit VIs... but I get error messages telling me that the VIs were are too old (V 7.0) to be recompiled to Version 8.5.1.
When I got the first of these messages, I opened and saved the VI indicated. That just pushed the problem along to the next VI. So I said "ah ha!" and went to the directory (blah\blah\....\addons\_office) that has the toolkit routines and did a Mass Compile. No errors were generated by this.
NOW when I try to run, I get an error message telling me that Excel_Insert_Text.vi is not executable. But that is clearly a lie. When I open the VI in the development environment, there are no broken arrows...
And let us not forget my application runs perfectly and without errors in the development environment, even after I brutally recompiled everything.
For those who care: I'm running V 8.5.1 with whatever version of the Report Generation Toolkit comes with that (1.1.2??).

-GNI feel your pain GN... the RGT in its current Classes incarnation has a few "issues"... try deploying it with TestStand a whole world of pain opens up.
Now, I have recently seen an issue very similar to the one you described, I broke the RGT after doing a mass compile.
Eventually opened the RGT VI that was "broken", it looked fine to me. It was something to do with setting the font, and was basically just an activex call. Eventually out of frustration I right clicked on the node, reselected the same method, and another input parameter line appeared at the bottom of the node and the VI all of a sudden became runnable. WOW!
This needed to be done in a few of the VIs.

What to do with Etresoft report on slow running MacBook? Macbook started slowdown after last OS update. I have tried restarting computer, making sure there are no log in items, repaired disk permissions, removed all files from desktop, checked for missing updates. Nothing has helped. That is called by a report specific JavaScript function:

You can call this for example by using a button.
You also can make it more generic, by parameterizing the URL of the report server, and by changing the functions to pass an array of parameters that can have any size, instead of a fixed number.

Hi! All,
I used the ADORecordSet to fetch data from tables, and pass it to ther report at runtime using AddADOCommand.
I got the ActiveConnection and ActiveCommand from ADORecordSet and passed them as parameters of AddADOCommand, it seems the AddADOCommand opens an addional connection, which can be told from the ODBC trace, instead of using the ActiveConnection I passed in.
Is that true?
It causes the big problem for me, since the ActiveConnection I passed in was opened using our OEM DataDirect driver and I assumed the AddAdoCommand uses it directly, but it is not the case!! The AddADOCommand just uses the connection information from ActiveConnection and opens an additional one. Since the connection string contains the driver name, so this connection is also opened via our OEM DataDirect Driver. But the Crystal Report tries to unlock it using its own license/password {qecr.lic,brahmabrahmabrahmabrahma} to unlock our OEM driver, which of course raises the license warning from DataDirect Driver 5.2!! After a certain grace period, any sql operations under the cover of AddADOCommand fail and thus causing the failure of AddADOCommand.
Now what is the solution?
1. how to avoid open an additional connection? or any other API I should call to avoid this?
2. How Crystal Report works with the driver coming with the application, and this driver needs to be unlocked before being used.

StrongI don't have the any driver's source code (such as ividcpwr.dll source code), how can I modify the specific driver through labwindows.

I cannot see any GPIB command in the trace but some IviDCPwr functions.
Besides, if I know any bug (eg. some wrong GPIB command) in ividcpwr.dll, how can I modify it before I get it's source code.

Web Analysis report is not coming with the border/logo/heading while print
Hi All,
I am using 9.3.1 version of hyperion planning were Web Analysis report is not coming with the border/logo/heading while printing with the option "print all object", Only the data grid is coming in the print. If I use "print screen" it is coming with border/logo/heading but it gives a screenshot of the report, that won't cater out need.
So please suggest us with a resolution to have border, logo and heading, while using Print all object.

In scripts when you will see print preview the logo will be not shown up with clarity.Take the print out of the document and check whether logo is printing up with clarity.

What to do with inconsistencies from RADCUCNT report output ?
Hi Everybody,
Im in preparation phase of non-unicode conversion to unicode ( after upgrade ECC6 EhP6 SP08 - NW731) and I have stuck in step of nametab creation.
The RADCUCNT report is showing me inconsistent objects with reason 2.
All those objects are not exist in DB and ddic dictionary as well.
This is reason why I have still nametab not consistent and I'm scary to do an export as in sap documentation are several attention that this step has to be consistent otherwise will export be failed or import not successful.
i did not find any relevant sap note what to do with such a objects.
Is possible to exclude those objects or something else?

according to note #1062188 you can ignore this warning.
Please proceed as described afterwards:
According to unicode conversion guide, 3.1 Additional Preparation Steps, error "1EED: DD sources table xxxx could not be read" can be ignored.
Please check if there's any content left on the database to make sure these tables are obsolete. If you do not find contents, these tables should be removed as of Unicode conversion guide chapter 2.1.6:
If you want to exclude a table from export after the Consistency Check,
Drop the table from the database.
Delete the table entry from the nametab tables DDFTX, DDNTF, DDNTT on database level.
Reset the table in the Consistency Check.
A better choice for 2. is to remove nametab entries using function module DD_NAMETAB_DELETE via transaction SE37.
Afterwards please run report RADCUCNT again with variant UNICODE-02.
Therefore please execute steps 2.), 3.) and 4.) of the resolution part of note #1865781.

I am trying to hide apps on an iPad, but the instructions given to hide apps do not fit with what is coming up on my screen.
IT says go to purchases and then click on the x next to the app you wish to hide.
There is no x next to the icons on my screen.
Can someone please tell me in easy steps what to do.
ThanksReread the instructions. You cannot hide purchases on the iPad itself if you are running iOS 6 or higher. You have to hide the purchases in iTunes on your computer - not on the iPad.

What is the right sdk api to work with webi reports in BOXI Release 4?

I just read in the omg model for rebean (sdk for working with webi report documents) that all functions to access the report structur and layout are no longer availabe beginning with Release 4.
Can anyone confirm, that this is the case?
Are those functions moved to a different SDK component?

Well, the point with the report engine sdk is a surprise. What is the sense of new functionality when you cannot use it (spoken for the api processing), and in addition when the new functionality eliminate functionality which was available before in the sdk.
In my view this cut is to hard. The .pdf speaks from deprecated, but the blog and the information in the report engine api speaks a different language. The functionality is not just deprecated but no longer available.
Hope SAP will address that before relase 4 becomes GA in May 2011. -
does anybody know what is wrong with the ipod when error 1437 is reportedduring the restore cycle?
Double check the connections on each end to make sure they are nice and snug. If possible, plug the Nano into another existing USB 2.0 port.
Also, with the iPod still connected, try resetting it. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or the Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Then try restoring the iPod again.

"Table Not Found" Error is coming.Later I Found that In stored procedure for certain conditions only this error comes.But I cant resolve it.
Can any One check any pblm with this query

Guidance choosing Report Server 6i or Oracle9i Reports ???

This is a request for information and/or opinions really.
The company I work for want to extend the current Oracle facilities by providing enhanced reporting features, statistics, and analysis of existing databases. ( NB: we have several Oracle Databases at various versions on Sun Solaris and Linux )
We will shortly be upgrading to 8.1.7, possible to 9i mid next year!
My questions are :-
Is Oracle Reports Server 6i or Oracle9i Reports the way to go as opposed to developing in-house reporting facilities?
What requirements exist for Oracle Rpt Server 6i as opposed to Oracle9i Rpts, ie is 9i Reports backwards compatible with 6i? and is it also compatible with Oracle Server 8.1.7 Ent Edition ?
Any answers,opinions or links to URL's that could save me a lot of legwork or save me getting the runaround from Oracle Sales would be appreciated.

(Boring, standard and sort of meaningless answer, I know ;)) E.g. What kind of information do you want to "dig out", presentation formats, distribution demands... "analysis" sounds more like Discoverer and/or 9i DB analythical functions.
What requirements exist for Oracle Rpt Server 6i as opposed to Oracle9i Rpts, ie is 9i Reports backwards compatible with 6i? and is it also compatible with Oracle Server 8.1.7 Ent Edition ?If you have the chance (given business requirements, standards, existing investments, database server versions, hardware availability, license costs, etc.) to choose newer and supported versions (i.e. 9i), go for the "9i" version. Upgrading to 8.1.7 and later 9.x.x seems like one bit towards that.
BUT you should be aware that Reports is nowadays, so called, integrated with the 9i AS package. In my experience, AS is more demanding than the previous 6i (different architecture, bigger installation, a lot of running servers/processes, more things to manage). On the other hand, the software infrastructure which is AS can be used in delivering a lot of different applications (compared to "simple" Reports reports). With Certified Configurations and thelike, perhaps a complete, tested and supported sw&hw solution could be less expensive (but this I haven't tried yet).
