What's data Clusters? Plese see...

Hello all,
What is the meaning of this:::
The PCLn database tables are used to store data clusters (such as results from Time Management, Travel Management, and Payroll) What are data clusters and is there any documentation on it? Any special way to access them using open SQL?
Thanks,
Charles.

  • What is new AT&T iPhone MMS date? I see integrated messaging feature

Okay, I heard that this was to happen at then end of Summer, then end of July.
So what is the new date? I see Integrated Messaging counters in my AT&T profile as of this week.
Should we expect another update to sync with iTunes to get it working?

Funny. I'm going to mark this question as answered -and this last post as funny.
I hope it isn't sarcasm, cause my sarcasm detector runs on Windows 7 and I currently have my VMware Fusion session powered off.
The heart of my question was really the "integrated message" counter in my AT&T profile. I was hoping to hear others just got it, or don't have it, or when they got it, and they I could magically extrapolate a new MMS rumor date.
Anyway, I don't have to go to UK (although a good choice), cause Rogers in Canada has MMS already.

  • IPad stolen. Can I see what app data was backed up in iCloud?

    Hello,
    My ipad was stolen.
How can I see what app data was backed up on icloud?
    Thank you
    - Jim

Unfortuantely, you can see what's in a backup without restoring it to your device.  You also can't selectively restore just certain apps.  Also, your apps aren't really stored in your backup, only your app data is.  When you restore the backup, the app data is restored, then the apps are redownloaded from the App store, along with your other purchased media, assuming they are still available.
What you could do is back up your iPad to your computer (connect it to your computer, open iTunes, then go to File>Devices>Back Up and File>Devices>Transfer Purchases), then erase it (Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings), restore the old backup (go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup).  Then you could either live with the restored backup and all it contains, or erase it again and restore the iTunes backup you made earlier (connect it, open iTunes, go to File>Devices>Restore from Backup).

    CREATE DISKGROUP STORE EXTERNAL REDUNDANCY DISK '/dev/asm210';
Then I created a new tablespace:
    CREATE TABLESPACE store DATAFILE '+STORE';
I did all this operations from NODE1.
What is happening now is that everytime I try to read something from new diskgroup FROM NODE2 I get the ORA-01157:

    ORA-01110: data file 13: '+STORE/evodb/datafile/store.256.719232707
No problem to read from NODE1.
The simple query on dba_data_file work from NODE1 and fails from NODE2 with the ORA-01157.
I found this on the alert log:

    Thanks in advance!
    Samuel

I didn't understand what do you mean with thread...
But I think you found the problem
Initialization files of both ASM instance are: SPFILE='/dev/spfileASM'
that SPFILE is (common for both):
    +ASM2.__oracle_base='/u01/app/oracle'#ORACLE_BASE set from environment
    +ASM2.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA'
    +ASM1.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA','STORE'#Manual Mount
    *.asm_diskstring='/dev/asm*'
    *.cluster_database=true
    *.diagnostic_dest='/u01/app/oracle'
    +ASM1.instance_number=1
    +ASM2.instance_number=2
    *.instance_type='asm'
    *.large_pool_size=12M
    +ASM1.local_listener='LISTENER_ASM'
    +AC
    Then I executed another query:
    From ASM1
    SQL> select instance_name from v$instance;
    INSTANCE_NAME
    +ASM1
    SQL> select name, state from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME STATE
    ARCHIVELOG MOUNTED
    DATA MOUNTED
    ONLINELOG MOUNTED
    STORE MOUNTED
    SQL>
    From ASM2
    SQL> select instance_name from v$instance;
    INSTANCE_NAME
    +ASM2
    SQL> select name, state from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME STATE
    ARCHIVELOG MOUNTED
    DATA MOUNTED
    ONLINELOG MOUNTED
    STORE DISMOUNTED
    SQL>
    Than the question is:
how can I mount the disk group STORE also on ASM2?
I think the problems is into the spfile lines:
    +ASM2.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA'
    +ASM1.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA','STORE'
How can I change the +ASM2.asm_diskgroups value?
    Thanks

  • What is data cluster?

    hi all
Can any one explain me with an example what is meant by data cluster ?
    regds
    hari

Data clusters are stored in a storage medium with the help of the statement EXPORT ( see: Statements for Data Clusters) . This is achieved using the different variations of the addition medium. These are as follows:
    · DATA BUFFER xstr for storage in a byte string xstr
    · INTERNAL TABLE itab for storage in an internal table itab (Standard table)
    · MEMORY ID id for storage under the name id in the ABAP Memory
    · DATABASE dbtab ... ID id for storage under the name id in a database table in the ABAP Dictionary
    · SHARED MEMORY dbtab ... ID id and SHARED BUFFER dbtab ... ID id for storage under the name id in the cross-transaction application buffer of the applications server's shared memory.
In the following you will learn more about the temporary storage of data clusters in ABAP memory and shared memory, as well as permanent storage in databanks. You can find detailed information about the different storage media in the keyword documentation.
    ABAP Memory
ABAP memory is a memory area within the internal session (roll area) of an ABAP program and any other program called from it using CALL TRANSACTION or SUBMIT.
ABAP memory is independent of the ABAP program or program module from which it was generated. In other words, an object saved in ABAP memory can be read from any other ABAP program in the same call chain. ABAP memory is not the same as the cross-transaction global SAP memory. For further information, refer to Passing Data Between Programs.
This allows you to pass data from one module to another over several levels of the program hierarchy. For example, you can pass data
    · from executable programs that have been called using SUBMIT
    · From a transaction to an executable program.
    · Between dialog modules.
    · From a program to a function module.
    and so on.
The contents of the memory are released when you leave the transaction.
    Database Tables
You can store data clusters in databases in the ABAP Dictionary. In order to do so, you must create databank tables with a special structure. SAP provides a template databank table called INDX, which you can copy and modify. This is why we also make reference to INDX type tables (see the keyword documentation).
This method allows you to store complex data objects with deep structures in a single step, without having to adjust them to conform to the flat structure of a relational database. Your data objects are then available system-wide to every user. To read these objects from the database successfully, you must know their data types.
You can use INDX-type database tables to store the results of analyses of data from the relational database. For example, if you want to create a list of your customers with the highest revenue, or an address list from the personnel data of all of your branches, you can write ABAP programs to generate the list and store it as a data cluster. To update the data cluster, you can schedule the program to run periodically as a background job. You can then write other programs that read from the data cluster and work with the results. This method can considerably reduce the response time of your system, since it means that you do not have to access the distributed data in the relational database tables each time you want to look at your list.
Although INDX type tables are normal databank tables from the ABAP Dictionary, you should only use them in conjunction with the special statements for data clusters. Only in exceptional cases, for example in order to delete many data clusters from one area with a single statement, can you use Open SQL statements. In order to do this you must have a good working knowledge of the structure of INDX type tables and it is recommended that the table and its contents first be checked for different application cases using the data browser of the ABAP Workbench (transaction SE16).Although it is possible to access an INDX-type database using SQL statements, it is only possible to interpret the structure of the data cluster using ABAP statements.
    Cross Transaction Application Buffer
The cross transaction application buffer is a storage area on an application server which all ABAP programs of the SAP system running on the same applications server can access. Data clusters in the cross transaction application buffer are exactly the same as data clusters that are organized in databank tables. Here we will refer to the databank table  dbtab. The data are not stored in the databank table itself but in a table with a corresponding set up. Therefore the databank table dbtab must also be an INDX type (see keyword documentation). The structure of this table is then copied for the storage of the cluster in the buffer. This gives you the possibility to store your own administrative information in every cluster in the buffer and import it again as necessary.
The difference between the application buffers SHARED MEMORY and SHARED BUFFER lies in how the system reacts when the storage limit is reached (see Keyword documentation).
reward  points if it is usefull .......

I am deploying my application components on Oracle RAC database, when i install my app component i will run a script which creates a user and tablespace on bot rac-nodes(node1 and node2)
as database is clustered, the user are created on 2 nodes and tablespace is stored in a shared location for two rac nodes
i am able to successfully run my script on rac-node1 and and installed my component and when i started installing the app component on node2 getting error

You should not create database files outside of the ASM.
I'm not sure you can move the datafile, I would export the data from the tablespace (if there is data you need there), delete the tablespace and recreate it in the ASM, then import the data back.
If you want to move the datafile, you can try using RMAN (from node1).
First connect to the database with sqlplus and execute:
alter tablespace <tbs_name> offline; Then start RMAN: rman target /
BACKUP AS COPY DATAFILE '<file>' FORMAT '+<ASM_DG>';Then in sqlplus, execute:
alter tablespace <tbs_name> online;I'm not sure it will work, and I hope I got the commands right because I can't check it right now.

  • What is "date created" and why does it change?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 that I am using with Windows XP  Service Pack 3, a Pentium 4 CPU with 3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 48.6 GB of free disk space.
None of the "dates created" in Properties  match the date the picture was taken. What does "Date Created" represent? Is it the date that the images are pulled into a catalog in Organizer?
I have multiple catalogs that show creation dates that are later than the date modified, (example: date created of June 2012 and a date modified of March 2012). How is it possible that the date created is later than the date modified? Shouldn't the date created be earlier than the date modified?
Also, I have had several instances in which the date created was changed again, making the system think it was a "new" image in my watched folders. Shouldn't the Date Created remain constant?  How can I keep the date created from being changed?

  • Importing Data Clusters

    Dear All,
How do I import data clusters from a database table to view the data it contains. I know, or at least I think, I have to use the IMPORT command which has the following syntax:
    IMPORT parameter_list FROM medium [conversion_options].
But how do I find what the parameter list, their type, etc. and is medium the name of the table? Is there a tool that enables me to read data clusters similar to se16 for data fields?

  • What is Data Roaming

What is Data Roaming, do i need to leave it on when im in my home network area or does it not matter if it is on/off?

Data Roaming applies when roaming internationally/out of the country on an AT&T partner network.
Roaming internationally must be requested by you and approved by AT&T before doing so. This is beneficial to those who want to minimize their data roaming charges when out of the country since this is billed in full for all data downloaded and uploaded when checking and downloading email and web browsing, etc. There are no such charges when connected via Wi-Fi when roaming internationally - only when using the cellular network for data access.
Also for those who are in the country but live near the border of Mexico or Canada where cellular towers located across the border can be picked up without your knowledge.
It is off by default and you should leave it off unless you travel outside the country and need internet access other than via Wi-Fi.
Scratch the AT&T and U.S. reference - I now see you are located in Scotland but the same applies when what is considered roaming internationally on an O2 partner network.

  • What is "Data Type" in Custom Script of Requirement

I want to create a custom script in "Requirement" of Applications.
It is different from "Detection Method", These is "Data Type" in The custom script of "Requirement"
I know how to create script in "Detection Method"!
But I don't know what is "date type" in "Requirement" , how does it work with script,
how to return the result of wscript.echo

You can use the Wscript.Echo result to check the requirement. The Data Type is only used to specify if the output is something like a String or Integer. Based on the type you just got some different options to check.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary BB/RIM services, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have access to whatever level of services you subscribe to from your carrier.

  • What is 'date range' in SAP CRM?

I am SAP CRM beginner. Also very new to SDN. Reading very basic documents.
While reading Marketing related document (Campaign Management), I have come accross a term called ' date range ' where I am really confused with -
what is - date range, pre-dip- post-dip, buying period........
& what is the use of the same.

    hi
date range specifies that in a particular transaction what is the validity of the transaction, for example LEAD<ACTIVITY etc are the transactions we have in CRM
as u said you saw it in campaing management, there date reange specifies the start date and end date opf the campaign
whenever we start a acmapaing after executing it we have some start date from where we got to see the results of the campaign,
you define an additional date range that has a specific meaning, for example, pre-dip or post-dip, you need to select the corresponding period type in this activity. This is used to trigger validation of the dates in the BW System.
You should define at least one buying pattern type in Customizing for Marketing Planning and Campaign Management under Basic Data -> Define Default Buying Pattern Types.
For Instance  you can define that the buying period should start weeks before the promotion takes
place and that buying finishes weeks before the end of the promotion. You define the buying period
as a date range in Customizing and then you can enter the actual dates here. A buying pattern can
be defined for each combination of campaign type, buying pattern type and duration.
also technically if u know about date range in CRM
i would like to explain like this that
    there is a thing "milestone"
this refers to the range of date from start to end
withinthe particular date that you mention inside the transaction u do the needed task like u create a new task and u do the buying and u generate invoice
in simple terminology we have date range which specifies the start of a particular task and there is always an end date at which this task has to end,so take this way
check out the date range in trade promotion (trade promotion is an alternate for the campaing in CRM)

do revert back in case of any doubt

  • Check what master data was carried with last load

    Hello all,
I have an issue. I'm looking for a solution, so maybe you can help me :).
I have the InfoObject A linked to InfoObject B , through a transformation.
    I also have a DTP.
Running the DTP , I load master data from A to B.
A and B already contained data, before my load.
How can I check what master data was carried with my last load?
(I don't have the chance to check by request, as if in the case of a cube , for example)
    Thank you.

I agree like cube we cannot see the request wise data wise data .
The alternate to this is you are updating the data through the DTP correct .
Goto DTP maintenanve screen and click on the PSA and check the date wise data in that .
I hope you must be awared of  which date data you need to see . So you can check from the DTP PSA screen .
Assign marks is the best way to appreciate help

  • What is Data Roaming USA

    What is Data Roaming USA

        Rodlburr,
Happy to answer that for you. Roaming is the general term for anytime your mobile device is communicating with a network other than Verizon Wireless. Data refers to the data signal that is used to transmit data such as email and web. USA refers to roaming inside the United States as opposed to Global which is billed differently. "Data Roaming USA" is domestic communication with a data network other than VZW. Most calling plans include it.
I might be able to provide further insight if you could tell us why you are asking. Is this a feature you see on your line, something listed on your bill or something you see on the phone?

  • What is data dictionary?

    what is data dictionary?
    thank u.

The ABAP Dictionary centrally describes and manages all the data definitions used in the
system. The ABAP Dictionary is completely integrated in the ABAP Development Workbench. All
the other components of the Workbench can actively access the definitions stored in the ABAP
    Dictionary.
The ABAP Dictionary supports the definition of user-defined types (data elements, structures and
table types). You can also define the structure of database objects (tables, indexes and views) in
the ABAP Dictionary. These objects can then be automatically created in the database with this
definition. The ABAP Dictionary also provides tools for editing screen fields, for example for
assigning a field an input help (F4 help).

    ABAP Dictionary
    Purpose
Data definitions (metadata) are created and managed in the ABAP Dictionary. The ABAP
Dictionary permits a central description of all the data used in the system without redundancies.
New or modified information is automatically provided for all the system components. This
ensures data integrity, data consistency and data security.
You can create the corresponding objects (tables or views) in the underlying relational database
using these data definitions. The ABAP Dictionary therefore describes the logical structure of the
objects used in application development and shows how they are mapped to the underlying
relational database in tables or views.
The ABAP Dictionary also provides standard functions for editing fields on the screen, for
example for assigning a screen field an input help.
What Information is Stored in the ABAP Dictionary?
The most important object types in the ABAP Dictionary are tables, views, types, domains,
    search helps and lock objects.
Tables are defined in the ABAP Dictionary independently of the database. A table
having the same structure is then created from this table definition in the underlying database.
Views are logical views on more than one table. The structure of the view is defined in
the ABAP Dictionary. A view on the database can then be created from this structure.
Types are used in ABAP program. The structure of a type can be defined globally in
ABAP programs. Changes to a type automatically take effect in all the programs using the type.
Lock objects are used to synchronize access to the same data by more than one
user. Function modules that can be used in application programs are generated from the
definition of a lock object in the ABAP Dictionary.
Different fields having the same technical type can be combined in domains . A
domain defines the value range of all table fields and structure components that refer to this
    domain.
The ABAP Dictionary also contains the information displayed with the F1 and F4 help for a field
in an input template. The documentation about the field is created for a data element
that describes the meaning of the contents of a table field. The list of possible input values that
appears for the input help is created by a foreign key or a search help .
Integration in the ABAP Development Workbench
The ABAP Dictionary is completely integrated in the ABAP Development Workbench. The R/3
System works interpretatively, permitting the ABAP Dictionary to be actively integrated in the
development environment. Instead of the original objects, the interpreters see only internal
    representations of these objects.
These internal representations are adjusted automatically when the system finds that changes
have been made in the ABAP Dictionary. This ensures that the screen and ABAP interpreters,
input help, database interface, and development tools always access current data.

The following ABAP program lists the airline carriers (see Flight model )
and carrier IDs contained in table SCARR.
    DATA: SCARR_TAB TYPE SCARR.
SELECT * INTO SCARR_TAB FROM SCARR.
    WRITE: / SCARR_TAB-CARRID, SCARR_TAB-CARRNAME.
    ENDSELECT.
Only structure SCARR_TAB is declared in the program. All the information about this
structure, such as the field names, data types and field lengths, are copied from table
SCARR, which is defined in the ABAP Dictionary. This information about table
SCARR is called from the ABAP Dictionary when the program is generated.
This means that the source text of the program need not be adjusted when a change
is made to table SCARR, for example when the length of a table field is changed.
The next time the program is called, the system automatically determines that the
structure of table SCARR has changed. The program is simply regenerated, thereby
retrieving up-to-date information about table SCARR from the ABAP Dictionary.

    Tables
Tables can be defined independently of the database in the ABAP Dictionary. The fields of the
table are defined with their (database-independent) data types and lengths.
When the table is activated, a physical table definition is created in the database for the table
definition stored in the ABAP Dictionary. The table definition is translated from the ABAP

    • Foreign keys define the relationships between the table and other tables.
    • Technical settings control how the table should be created in the database.
