What's going on at Adobe?
I come here searching for one small answer to one small question and wind up spending all evening doing it.
It took me almost an hour to log in and get to this forum. The login kept telling me I can no longer log in and kept cycling me back to the login page which would not let me log in. At some point I was told I needed a Getsatisfied account first. No idea where to even go for that.
Navigating this site has become a nightmare and I believe it is a forshadow of where the entire edifice called Adobe is headed. Another Hindenburg about to go up in flames, I fear.
I don't frequent this site often but it seems Adobe does not know what it's doing in the midst of all these changes.
I don't know how I finally got here so when I need to come back I will definitely be lost again...

I called adobe and the guy wanted $39 to help me fix it over the phone and when I asked if he has heard of many problems with this issue, he denied it. This forum is your best hope. It looks like they, thusfar, have helped many people and I am dealing with my own issues and have someone assisting me daily, but it is a step by step process. Just keep checking back on your post here and someone will be back with you. Just add some more details to your post such as your operating system, browsers and versions, antivirus software and if you are the administrator and you will save some time because that is probably what they will ask you first anyway. Good luck...this is extremely frustrating for me as well. My computer is less than 4 months old and I haven't really changed anything.

What's Going On With Adobe's New Upgrade Policy?
My old system died today, so I quickly finished the new system I was building to get up and running as quickly as possible. I tried to re-install my 2 year old copy of CS5 on the new machine, and see at the licenseing step that I had to have either CS3 or 4 extended serial numbers, or a CS2 number. I had CS2 many years ago, but that's long gone. I still have my standard copy of CS3--which was good enough for upgrading when I bought CS5 and originally installed itunder current upgrade terms at the time. Now it seems it's not good enough even to reinstall on a new box. And to top things off, Adobe takes weekends off, so I can't even get this resolved until Monday. How much is Adobe paying these days for lost time when they lock you out of your legally owned and licensed Adobe product? Why can't I even go from CS3 to CS5? I thought that was going to be the new, revised requirement, but I can't even do that.
Can you tell I'm a bit upset? I need access to PS and Bridge NOW, and I can't do anything. I've been told Adobe is far from customer friendly these days, but I had no idea just how true that is.
Is there some sort of work-around, or am I just out of luck until Monday? Thanks...Thanks for responding, guys. (Yes, this is actually Hilstudio1--I seem to have logged in with an old email address I used to use--but not on the forums--and Adobe wanted me to choose a screen name. Couldn't find a way to log out and then rejoin with the Hilstudio1 email, so now I have two names!)
Anyway, the old machine died with a corrupted OS (long story, but my fault) and my repair guy came by, spent about 2 hours (but only charged me for one), and said forget this machine, just finish the new one. That's what I did. of course, this meant I was not able to deactivate PS before I installed a fresh copy of CS5 on the new box. When I tried to enter the license, I started having issues, long before getting to the activation point.
I originally upgraded two years or so ago to CS5 from CS3, and that was not an issue. And Saturday, I was able to enter the CS5 license ok, but when I entered the CS3 license as the upgraded product, I was told it wasn't an eligible product to use for an upgrade to CS5. It had to be either CS2, or CS3/4 extended. If CS3 standard was good enough to upgrade to CS5 standard two years ago, why not now? I was finally able to find my CS2 registration here on the Adobe site, and it did accept that license. So, I finally got licensed, but I still don't understand the issue that causes the CS3 licence to be ineligible now.
And today, even though I was able to *initially* activate CS5 on the new machine, I'm getting an inelligible for activation message, because it's already installed on two computers. True, but I can't inactivate the old one 'cause it's dead and gone. Why not have a 'button' to push that will start some process in events such as mine--or maybe just keep customer service hours that are comparable to most other large software companies? The inability to deactivate a copy of PS because of a dead computer can't be all that uncommon. I'm so happy that Adobe finds they can maintain banker's hours for customer support while their efforts to protect against even a quarter's worth of potential illegal software use goes on 24/7, affecting even legally licensed users doing nothing wrong. (Yeah, I'm still just a tad upset! )

My MacBook Pro will not open documents via Adobe Reader. Says I need to aspen Reader in Browzer and accept terms and contitions first. Went through this 3 times and got through to "Finish", closed browser and then retried. No luck. What's going on?? Have no problem with same documents on iPhone and iPad
After you finished installing did you launch Adobe Reader from your /Applications folder and accept EULA(End User License Agreement)?

When trying to print, adobe reader 11.0.07 keeps "Not responding" for 2 - 5 minutes before finally working? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but same problem. What is going on? I have windows 7
First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

I have the latest version of Ubuntu on an Asus laptop (netbook) with an Intel® Atom™ CPU N450 @ 1.66GHz × 2. Firefox came with Ubuntu, but for some strange reason, when I go to blackboard to view something in PDF and I try to install the missing Adobe Reader plugin, Firefox says it "can't find any suitable plugins". What is going on?
Try opening your "package manager"/synaptic and search for "acroread"
Install it. Try again with firefox. Also try with cromium and opera.
One prof needed all three browsers on different sections of blackboard..nightmare.
So you know, blackboard sucks bad for linux...you have to do a lot of work to make it work correctly if your professor uses it poorly.
Try accessing the files like this:
- instead of going to the "courses" tab,
- choose "content collection" tab
- then open "course content" folder
- then you should see the list of documents
Also you may have to switch back and forth with cromium/opera

forgot to add, the "blackboard IM" does work if you install the package "wine". You have to use an older version of the IM than the current and don't use the upgrade nag unless you're a lucky sob. -

Went to watch a video on You Tube that I have watched before on my iMac and got the prompt that I had to upload Adobe Flash Player. Did that, and am still getting the same prompt and can't watch any videos at all. What is going on here, Apple??
I do not know how to do this with an Apple TV (I don't have one), but as far as I know Apple TV only does mirroring.
If you have an HDMI cable long enough to reach your TV from where you sit, then it's easy. The TV could be set up in Extended Desktop mode (mirroring off) as if it was simply another computer monitor, and then you could just drag windows to it. If you have the Displays icon in your menu bar, that's where the setting is, or if the icon is not there, then the setting is in the Displays system preference. But again, that's for conventionally connected monitors, not Apple TV. If you don't have an HDMI cable and wanted a long one that's affordable you can get those at monoprice.com.
The answer we are still waiting for is if anyone knows if Apple TV can be used in extended desktop (non-mirroring) mode. -

I suspect that you are looking at the Recent section. Your can switch to Local (for the files & folders stored on your iPad/iPhone) or Document Cloud (for the files & folders stored in the Adobe Document Cloud, formerly Acrobat.com) to find your "lost" files.

My steam won't launch ever since I updated to Yosemite I don't know what is going on.
