What's going on with iTunes 7 and Videos????

Hi! Thanks for reading me.
Does anyone knows what's going on with the videos in iTunes 7? I use iTunes for Windows (XP Pro SP2). In older versions I used the next sequence:
File>Add File to Library> I selected my file from my computer (music or video) and everything normal, then from iTunes to my iPod. But NOW! it just doesn't work!
It is supposed that the video file has been added to library but when I search for it. It doesn't exist!! Sorry to say but, great MAC! something so easy becomes a mess.
Any help or idea? I already looked for the video in the "Recent videos" and also tried the "solution" to play the video in Quick Time and then export it... The thing is that now Quick Time isn't running! Also a mess, I used not to have problems with the Quick Time, until the "great" new iTunes 7.

I noticed that pcmanfm is putting debug messages into my terminal when I launch it from there which look like this:

that notation looks familiar to me, looks like pcmanfm is sending messages to dbus?
How could I have noticed that pcmanfm is using dbus without stumbling across these debug messages by accident as each program author may or may not provide these? How do I find out from there (meaning: once I have identified what is going to dbus) what is being done with these messages, i.e. how do I follow the sequence of events up until the mounting of my devices? Ideally, I am imagining that there is a command to look at what messages were sent to dbus, then a config file to look at to see what dbus did based on these messages, such that I could deduce pcmanfm -> message to dbus -> look in config file /path/to/config -> mount /dev/sdc1 /media -t vfat
Is this something that can be deduced without having to guess around from merely having experience with linux?

i don't get it, what is your question? i don't see a problem with this. if everything is functioning i wouldn't worry about it. for example, i can start something like kwrite from terminal and i get a bajillion different notes showing up just from typing or clicking on something like "find" (some of them are debug messages, some are warnings, most of it is disorganized and scrambled info) yet it works perfectly fine.

Same on my wife's 3GS. It works on my friends iPhone 4. It is the vast majority of podcasts on a 3G or 3GS. I can still download a tiny number of the ones I checked (Tech Center) but the biggies (TWIT, Tech News Today, Security Now, Tekzilla) just show the logo on either 3g or WiFi. This has been going on for almost a week. My 3G is on iOS 3.1.3 and my wife's 3GS is on 3.1.2. I have seen reports of others with the same issue on a 3G/3GS on iOS 4.3.3.

STILL NOT SOLVED. So...What Is Going On With Java And How Do I Update It?

So...I checked my plugins this morning, and it said both my Java platform and my Java Deployment Toolkit needed updating. However, I click Update, and the link does not lead me to a download page. Plus, when I try to verify my Java version on the Java page, it says that I have the recommended Java installed (and so do other sites that run on Java). How do I update these things so that everything is up to date?

The JDK version is for Developers, you want the '''JRE''' version. The Development Toolkit plugin comes with both versions, but that plugin is really only needed by people developing for Java.
As far as '''if''' you should update right now, my answer is '''NO'''. From what I am reading the U10 version is messed up and is not installing the Firefox required U10 plugin. Not sure if Oracle didn't update it for Firefox, or if some users are missing the registry key needed for Firefox to locate the new plugin.

Though it refers specifically to McAfee's software, any privacy filter could cause a similar error. In addition, download accelerators can also cause errors when trying to connect to the iTunes Music Store, so if you have any such, disable it and try again.

What is going on with Pages and Yosemite???

I have tried over and over to update Pages and Numbers after the Yosemite upgrade including deleting the apps and then re-downloading them from the app store. Nothing is working. This is all since the Yosemite upgrade last week (that also re-downloaded on its own this morning).
Can anyone help??

Yosemite upgrade caused freezes and extremely slow operation my my 2009 Imac ...I recovered using Time Machine to pre-yosemite but lost all pages and numbers documents edited after the yosemite update , and after reversion to Mavericks, cannot open pages unless I upgrade to yosemite and use its pages version. Yosemite is a problem for other software companies that are scrambling to make their products compatible with yosemite. The Safari 8 version in yosemite lacks the reset feature in Safari 7 pre-yosemite.
Perhaps you can use Google Drive to open documents in earlier versions of pages. But it will not open a new pages version .

Beyond resetting what have you tried?
Common fixes can be to use a different USB port or different USB cable. You can also try updating iTunes, or uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
Does your computer see it at all? Is there a little chirp when you plug it in?

What is the deal with MP4s and Itunes?

Why does quicktime and Itunes always put "This document could not be opened"/"Quicktime does not support this file type"/"An invalid public movie atom was found in this file". Only about 2 movies have work in Itunes, and one became corrupted and kept making itunes close whenever I played it. WHAT DOES IT WANT? It says it wants MP4/M4V and I've tried both.

What movies? From what source? While mp4 is more restrictive than some containers it can still hold many variants of audio and video. iTunes is limited in codec support.

A. iMovie'08 to 11 are not the tools of choice if one aim to do a DVD as they all discard the quality of the picture by discarding every second line in it. NO way around this due to that it happens between Event's and Project's so as soon as it is being edited - Quality is lost.
B. I use iMovie HD6 or FinalCut
C. if iM'08 to 11 is a must - THEN DO NOT - Share to iDVD - BUT - "Share to Media Browser" and as Large (or ev. Medium)
THEN DO - Save as a DiskImage and see that this plays OK and ALL SOUND
D. if added audio from iTunes - then instead in iTunes - Collect all needed Audio into a NEW PlayList then BURN this as an Audio-CD (.aiff - NOT .mp3 or other) - Then use the Files on this CD in Your Movie Project's (I do)
E. I only use .aiff audio - 48kHz 16-bit (miniDV tape Camera) or 44.1kHz Audio CD - NEVER .mp3 or .wma or other file format - ALL is converted first into .aiff - ALWAYS ! - I have very few problem with Audio in my projects in iMovie or FinalCut !

2011 Macbook Pro suddenly says no space available on start-up disk (plenty available) and USB drawing too much power (only charging phone). What's going on with my computer? No longer able to charge my iPhone 5.

Two days ago I was using my computer, a 2011 Macbook Pro, and suddenly got the error message reading "Your Mac OS X startup disk has no more space available for application memory. To avoid problems with your computer, quit any applications you are not using. Closing windows and removing files from your startup disk will also help."
I was only using Google Chrome, nothing was running in the background, and I have 443 of 449.25 GB available (this is after clean-up I conducted after receiving the error message, but probably cleaned up less than 25 GB), so there should be no shortage of space. However, the message kept popping up and I deleted a few files and eventually it went away and hasn't reappeared.
However, last night and then again this morning I have been getting the error message that my USB drive is pulling too much power and has been disable. All that was plugged in was my iPhone 5 on the charger and my computer is also on its charger, so I don't know why this would be an issue, either. I have always charged my phone this way and never had a problem until today.
I haven't been able to charge my phone since. What's going on with my computer?

Regarding the USB, see if zapping the PRAM helps.

I had to reset my PayPal account with iTunes and now I'm getting a apple I'd has been disabled on both my iPad and iPhone. I've already done all the steps on my computer. Now what?

They give me that option when I'm setting up my account and I've got all that worked out. But my apple I'd is still disabled on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. I can't download anything nor can I update any of my apps. I've even changed my account to a credit card and it still didn't help.
Any ideas? I've put in a support request. Hopefully they won't take too long.
