What's happend to PyWm?

Being a python fan, I noticed this http://pywm.sourceforge.net/ , a window manager written entirely in python,
yet, it isn't being actively developed.
Have anyone of you tried PyWm? If so, what was it like? Why did the developer stop adding code to PyWm?
If not, what features do you think are beneficial/cool or shouldn't have been included at all?

Macbook pro over 5 years old phoned up because it fell onto the floor and mad a big bang looked at screen it was cracked and battery looked liked it had exploded i explaind what had happend and was told that it was normal how dangerouse is that no warning

mac book pro 17 over £2000 when new in the middle of the night i heard a loud noise found out that my laptop was on the floor looked and seen screen was craked and that what looked to me the battery had exploded coursing it to fall on to the floor the was nor warning and have had no recal letters from apple warning me that this may happen . so i phoned up apple and was speacking to some one i have thare name but wont say explaind what had happend an he said that it was normal to my shock as if it landed on any one or poss a pet as it was random .he said it was normal more than once and also i was on speaker phone and had some one else listening .i asked for him to send me what he had said via email but he said he could not so he put me through to some one called katalin who said to ignore what he had said . but at this stage i had two isues one that my expensive laptop is damaged .and the second it thta thay admited liyability by saying it was normal
after many emails and phone calls i think there best offer was if i spend about 184 pound thay would give me a £54 discount which as i have just spent over £2200 on new macbook pro was a bit on an insult
i do under stand that batterys do charge but as i had no warning especial if this was going to happen
if as thay said this is normal as it was bourght from apple direct should thay have sent a letter or email as thay would have had my details warning me that this can randomly happen as in my case .
the battery in my opinion has exploded ref defonition and .
my consern is that this could have been alot worse and no warning even thay admited that it is normal

u can give try to using external enclosre and backup ur files. I hope u will get files back. or using external enclosre with ur hdd boot into Linux and try to mount ur harddisk.
there are multiple no of tutorial to mount apple partion in Linux.

Oops - for some reason, this problem now seems to have gone away. May have had something to do with Flash. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

What has happend with preload and IEXPLORER??

I received from different people that preloaders in Flash and
using IEXPLORER ..that the preloader
function does not work correctly. I have no idea how this
suddenly happend.
I have tried several preloaders and all give the same
problem. When loading this flash file you get in your left bottom
corner
an icoon that the swf is downloading. When it is finished
than you get to see the swf file, so without the preloader?
In Firefox it works just fine.

I found out that this problem is more complicated..

now i copied the file and uploaded to my bluehost account.

And the same swf file does not preload on this server!
So, my conclusion is that some hosting servers, cause this
problem. But i don't know what the exact problem is?
I have posted this problem to my hosting provider.
But i bett that more people will experience this problem.

What has happend to Adobe Media Encoder in CS4?

I have been making short (5min to 10min) movies for the web for several years. I have used Premiere Pro CS3 and exported to FLV using the CS3 Adobe Media Encoder. The results have been excellent using 800kb/s at 25fps.
I then upgraded to Premiere Pro CS4 but cannot get anywhere near the same quality out of the new Adobe Media Encoder. I have tried many settings, including 2-pass and/or VBR as well as Single Pass CBR. What ever I try the resulting video quality is poorer than from CS3.
For the moment I am sticking with CS3 until I can find a solution. I hope I have not wasted my money on the upgrade.
Can anyone help?

I have found in my testing that the Flash encoding options and the results are far superior to anything I ever got out of previous versions of this option in PPro CS3 and v2.0.
That being said, I always use Sorenson Squeeze. Wish Adobe could match the quality I get in Sorenson. It's closer than before, but the file sizes are still much bigger in AME and the quality is noticeably lower than what Squeeze can deliver.

What´s happended to my iPhoto?

By a mistake I moved some files around, ad all the photos in iPhoto disappeared. I managed to find them again by trying something I found on these pages. They came back in a "Recovered photos" folder. Unfortunately I cant edit them, open them in edit mood, open them in another (HP Director) program. I cant transfer pictures from HP Director either. Get a message saying the program doesent recognise the file type.
Please help.

What "files" did you move around, and were there any other consequences?
You did not mention that you could not open the photos in iPhoto. Can we assume that is the case?
Select one of the photos, then get info (Command + i). Under Kind, what does it say?
Further down Open with, is there an application selected?

Here's how you put it into recovery mode
1: Turn off your iPHone by holding the sleep/wake button till it says "Slide to power off."
2: Hold down the home button (Button on the bottom of the display with a square in the middle) and connect it to the computer while still holding it down till you see a music note with an arrow pointing towards it appear on the screen of your iPhone
3: iTunes will give you a message, "iTunes has detected a device in recovery mode; you must restore this device to factory settings to use this device."
4: Click on "Restore iPHone."

Do you have iCloudn contacts on for it? Do you have any other devices that have iCloud on and someone accidently deleted the contacts from that device?
My friend's son did that to their iPod but had contacts on.

Hey guys, i have come across an ODD problem. I have had Arch linux and Windows working fine together. I use Grub as my bootloader. I could choose both windowsXP and Arch linux from grub and both would boot successful!
Now to the problem. After using windows and just playing some games, i turn off the computer for the night. I turn the computer back on, select Windows XP from Grub, and the it spits out this error
*partition file type unknown 0x7* or something along those lines. out of no where Windows just stopped booting. I went into linux to find solutions however nothing worked. Windows just stopped working out of no where. I tried reinstalling windows XP bootloader but all that did was give me garbled characters on the screen, so that led me to believe Windows became corrupt.
I reinstalled Windows so everything is fine now, but im jsut curious what could of caused this? Anyone have any ideas?

i figured it was not Grubs fault after i installed Windows bootloader and all it gave me was garbled stuff... luckily i could boot into linux and have a working computer still. I have done nothing serious that would affect anything related to this sort of problem so thats why its confusing me. All i did was boot into windows, play a couple games.... do some chatting etc. Turned off the computer, next day turned it back on, and windows was effed. Noo clue. I have it all worked out now, but im just curious as to why this would happen.. ohhhh well. Thankfully Linux was there, it got me through it!

[SOLVED] "man" doesn't find the manpages anymore... what has happend?

I suppose the probleme first appeared after the latest upgrade of "man-pages".
When I'm regular user man returns "No manual entry for XXX" in most cases. Being root, all manpages are displayed as usual.
Here's what I tried so far:
I've checked some manpages from "/usr/man" directroy. On all manpages, no matter if the work for the regualr user, read-permission is enabled for everyone!
Checking the $MANPATH variable returns the same for root and users, namely: "/usr/man:/usr/X11R6/man:/opt/java/jre/man:/opt/kde/man:/opt/qt/man"
I have no idea what else I could try to get them working properly again.

im having a similar issue. but in my case, man pages arent shown even if im root... i cant seem to find man pages for anything. this is a pretty new arch64 install, so i dont know if they worked on this install before.. if not, how can i install the needed manpages?

What have happend with the new 22.0 update? Why is it so bad? The size of everything is enlarge and every picture i upload on the web is blurred. Fix it!

Fix the problem and stop with the zoom in of every webpage. Its an awful thing for every photografer.

Just downloaded iTunes 11 it is one of the worst looking and poor user friendly programs i have used in a long time, im no computer genius but you would have expected this to be have been tested to the max, it has the look of a freebie website, not to mention it has slowed up im sure it has, this is very evident in the import of cds, is anyone else finding this or not liking the new look.

What has happend to Apple's quality control?

I always percieved Apple products to be well manufactured and client service to be first class. I purchased an iPad2 for my father; this turned out to be dead on arrival. Applecare replaced this with a second defective iPad. Number three has just arrived and is scratched and dented. This has all happened in the month since purchase.
Is this an isolated occurance, or has anyone else had a similar experience?

I tried 4 ipad 4's in a row before giving up. A couple had black stains that could be rubbed off. All had defects out of the box.
#1 - scratch on the back (didn't examine display)
#2 - dented on edge (didn't examine display)
#3 - dust under glass, uniformly pink tinted screen, scrolling not as smooth as others
#4 - no cosmetic blemishes, but has back light bleed on left and bottom right corner, greenish to pinkish color gradient (left to right), and blue tint on edges of screen.
I tried 5 ipod touch 5th generations in row before giving up. All had a hairline scratch on the apple logo. Most had black stains that could be rubbed off. All had defects out of the box.

My iphone wifi has been working fine since I set it up. But for the last two days I have not been able to access my home wifi or safari, the phone settings still have the wifi connected and the home network still has the phone address in it. I have not changed any settings and have checked everything.

... because all computers are imperfect and have bugs. All software is not perfectly compatible with all other software.
