What's Happening? Airport Scanning keep defaulting to the wrong place
Hello,
Recently my internet went down and I had to reset my router and modem to increase my speed. Ever since my airport keeps defaulting to the wrong location and I have to keep opening it up and going to my airport name but it won't. I've unchecked the check local networks box but have no idea what else to try.
This is only happening on my Macbook and my iMac and older Powerbook seem to be fine. How can I fix this?

Thanks, I did have my preferred network up top but have tried again and applied changes. We'll see if it sticks. For now I just keep moving it to my preferred airport every time it goes to another one.

The manual proxy settings keep defaulting to the wrong HTTP and port. This has caused me many hours of anguish. It works fine when I correct the settings but after you log off and then come back it has to be changed again. Is there anyway to fix it? Or can I go back to the previous version because 4 definitely has some issues (other than this one). I downloaded two videos from itunes into Media Go and I can't play or transfer them to my Walkman. Please help. I'm new at this and haven't a clue as to what I should do. Is Media Go the wrong place to put the videos? Thanks. Earl G.

What would happen if I were to delete the primary email address linked to my Apple ID?
I wish to completely de-activate my @hotmail email address in order to be left with just my @icloud email address becuase I would find life more managable that way.
I found out that I cannot change my primary @hotmail email address linked to my Apple ID with an @icloud email address as it is an active, separate Apple ID (in itself with a separate purchase / download history etc)...
Also I am aware that separate Apple ID's cannot be merged together...
My question is: "What would happen if I were to delete the primary email address linked to my Apple ID?"
Would I be able to keep and use my purchases, provided they are backed up on my Mac and authorised?
Would I be able to update those transferred purchases even though the email address linked to the apple ID in which the app was bought no longer exists?You can change the primary e-mail address associated with your Apple ID, so long as it isn't a mac, me or icloud email.

Your Apple ID account, regardless of the primary email, can never be 'deleted', just abandoned.
You could always just switch between the two Apple IDs as needed, to access the different purchases. -

What operating system?
In general you would go to the Printers (or Devices and Printers or Printers and Faxes) folder, right click on the 5600 and select Set as Default. Depending on your operating system you may need to do this as an administrative user.

I don't understand what's happening with my Music. All the songs that I purchased, that were previously on my phone, now show up with a Cloud next to them, but I can't play them. If I touch the Cloud, it turns into a red square, acts like it's downloading (which I can see happening in iTunes), but never downloads. The Cloud just stays there.
I've sync'd my phone, I've turned it to "show all music" in Settings, I've drag and dropped the songs/albums onto my phone again. I feel like I've tried everything I've seen recommended, but nothing works.
I've purchased a lot of music from iTunes. It should be there. What's going on?
P.S. Same thing happening with my purchased books. Ugh.Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match. Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

Hello using the settings from my email provider (Virgin Media), I set up my email account on my Mac. The problem arises trying to move the emails from the Inbox to the various mailboxes I set up. All this is occurring within Apple's Mail app, not the Desktop.
Could it be anything to do with the IMAP-enabled synching between my email account on my computer and on Virgin Media's servers where my actions on my computer are not being communicated to the server? I am not an expert and only guessing here! Thanks for pitching in. -

This only works for Apple Mail. If you have a different client, you need to find the settings for it. -

I'm on osx 10.7.2 and once I click the soundtrack pro icon I get an error message. I had problems with logic pro & my digi002r soundcard midi drivers but now is fixed (using a midi adapter).

What If The repeat is in the wrong place
Just want to share my first panic moment...
This is a stupid question but I like to know the best way to handle this.
It was my first panic moment because I had never seen this before.
This weekend I was testing some scripts with a loop (repeat action)
The script had to make a new text edit document, and some more tasks...
But I placed the repeat at the wrong place so when running the script...
I had in no time 300 documents and keep counting... So the repeat was wrong...
and the script keep running and running.... panic... How do I stop this ?...
So I force quit text editor. but the script(activate text edit) and keep on running... I had so many files open on top the system almost crashes...
The only solution I had was shut down..
And hoping the script doesn't start over...
ok.. didn't continue... fiew.
Did some changes and had to run it again... (Hoping that it will work)
almost ready... one more shut down. (again many files...)
So after the last changes the script works perfect but I want to know how I do this in the future when testing something like this...
When A script keep running.
What is the most elegant way to stop this?

This may not work if your script first sets TextEdit to the active app (via an activate command) because that would send the Command-. to TextEdit, not to the script.
If that were the case then you would first have to activate the Script Editor (or wherever you ran the script). If the activate command was within the loop then that might silll fail because it would switch back to TextEdit before you had a chance to stop the script.
If all else fails, Ctrl-click on the Script Editor's icon in the dock and choose 'Quit'. This should send a signal to the app to stop processing (hopefully offering you a chance to save your script). At that point you can quit or not - the script has stopped running which is the main point.
If that still doesn't work, then you may have to force quit Script Editor, losing any unsaved edits to your script, but it wouldn't be as harsh as a forced shutdown of the whole machine. -

Make sure that you haven't saved Uppercase and Lowercase versions of that name and password.
Remove saved Password(s):
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
Websites may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.<br />
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

If you need to remove saved data then use these steps:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Select the wi-fi tab in the menu bar then select "Open Network Preferences..." Select the "Advanced" button, then select the network that it is interfering with your MBP, then hit the - button and it will "forget" that network. Hope that fixes your problem, good luck.

AirPort Express - Keeps Defaulting to Factory Settings
Hi everybody:
I just got an AirPort Express to broadcast my broadband internet throughout my apartment.
I connected it to my cable modem by ethernet cable, created a new network in Airport Utility, and it set up just fine.
I noticed that the light on the Airport Express was flashing amber, although in the A.Utility, it showed green with a successful connection.
The Airport Express is placed directly next to my computer.
Everything was working great (for a while), and I was even able to set up another Airport Express on that same network to broadcast AirTunes in another room. That connection was successful, and the light on Airport Express #2 glowed green.
After a few hours however, I lost connection.
And in Airport Utility, the status on Airport #1 (the one used to create the new network & connected by ethernet to my modem) showed that it had been defaulted to factory settings.
I then manually reset both Airports to default settings, set up the whole configuration again by creating a whole new network, and everything worked as before (#1 flashing amber, but status good in A.Utility; #2 glowed green), but again, after a few hours lost connection #1 status showed default factory settings.
There's a good chance that I'm doing something wrong -- any ideas?
Any wisdom is greatly appreciated.Usually, if you have an amber light on the Express, there's also an amber light in AirPort Utility when you check the settings.
Click on the word "Status" to see if there are any messages in the window that opens. A flashing amber light can sometimes be a message that a firmware update is available for the AirPort Express.
