What's happening? Please help!

I have a ipod and ipod nano, at the beginning,
I install the itunes by the dise with the ipod.
It's work, and every things go well.
2nd time, after recovered my PC,
install the itunes once again. It dosen't work!
Whatever using the dise with the nano's or download the latest version on the net, recover the computer again,
reinstall the itunes, IT DOSEN'T WORK!
the result is just like that:
1) After install the itunes and quick time,
it said okay and need to restart the computer
( But it also said that the itunes have problems,
need to close the progarmme)
2) Restarted the computer, click itunes
same small window come out
---> the itunes have problems,
need to shut down the programme.
By the way, it doesn't show that what the error is.
3) I'm using window XP home edition
This bores me! Someone know the solution?

Perform a Thorough & Complete Uninstall and Reinstall of iTunes/QuickTime
(Compiled from the collective wisdom of toonz and Da Gopha)
If you want to guarantee a successful upgrade and be proactive about minimizing potential install issues, do the following:
1. Completely Backup your music and iTunes library files.
2. Virus check / spyware scan your machine.
3. Completely remove / uninstall the current version of iTunes and QuickTime from your system.....
3a. - Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
3b. - Do a Stepwise clean uninstallation of iTunes
3c. - Then download and install the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility
.....And make sure iTunes is really gone.
4. Delete the contents of your temp folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp
5. Reboot the PC
6. Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
7. Start with the QuickTime standalone installer run from the PC (not directly from on-line)
8. Reboot the PC
9. Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
10. First completely download, then run the latest iTunes Installer from your PC
11. Reboot the PC
The majority of problems out there on the discussion boards are caused by viruses or other system corruption — sometimes self-inflicted by the user (i.e. - people who turn off necessary Windows services) — or out of date drivers. You may want to consider this if your PC falls into one of these categories.

    It sounds like it still has her information on it, so it might be efficient to navigate to Settings, then General, then Reset, then Erase All Content and Settings. You can then set up the phone again, using your information. This way the phone will be yours, officially, and her data and information will be removed.

    Open Finder. Go to the "Go" menu in the menu bar. Press and hold Control and click on Library. Go to "Preferences". Find a file named, "com.apple.iTunes.plist" and delete that file. This won't delete your iTunes content. It will reset iTunes. Try it again.

    I would try it on a PC and see if you can format it, then put it back on the Mac and try again. If it's not seen on a PC, then there's the strong likelihood that there's a hardware issue; either the bridge/chip set or the HD itself is dying/dead. There's also the small possibility that the cable is faulty, so I'd try a different cable too.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
