What is the name of my dream job?

Hi all,
I have studied four years in order to become a programmer. I remember the excitement I had two years ago regarding programmer. I came out with ideas and developed them. Ok some of them where pure shit! But I use to enjoy that time and the things I used to learn! The thing I like most was the fact that I had time to develop my ideas!
Then I started working as a programmer! Worked abroad for some time, and was nice. I learnt a lot in two years time. Much more then I learnt in four years of study! However each morning, when going to work I feel sick because I feel this is not what I want to do!
The work of a programmer sucks! I have to spend 8hours a day programming something that I have no interest in!!
I would love to come up with ideas and develop them, have a team of programmers that help me develop that software, sell it, improve it, come up with new ideas, develop them, and so on!!
What is this JOB called??? and where can I find it?
I understand that it is impossible to get such a job only after two years of working, but I would like to know what type of job there is so that I can inspire out of it and know exactly what to search for next time I change work!!
I am a Java Developer, or so I like calling myself! I basically have learnt all I know in Java myself by reading tutorials and books. I know the basics of nearly everything in Java, but am expert in none, and most of the time I have to do extra research on the internet to get something done. I have worked with open source frameworks such as struts, spring and hibernate, but are not used in the country were I live!!
So what should I aim to become when I grow up? (Sort to speak)!! Since I definitely don�t like programming what other people want me to.
I am asking this here because here is a pool of a whole word of different jobs related with IT and thus I believe there are a lot of people that can add some comments on this.

I had a "dream" job for a while. a guy - who writes books on software process, and is a member of the agile alliance - had an idea for a product, sat on it for 15 years then left his job and started a company. he assembled his team personally, and 8 of us sat in a room and worked to make his idea a reality. he was the management, and he was also the most talented programmer of us all. the team ran beautifully, we rarely had a deadline to work to, save the odd launch here and there, and there was absolutely zero office politics. all we did was write code, toss ideas about, play with the development process and sometimes go karting, or to the pub, or for a curry or something. I actually looked forward to going to work every day, because of this free reign we had, and we all turned out orders of magnitude more code than anywhere else I've ever worked. but the investors got nervous and pulled funding, leaving the project somewhat crippled. nice while it lasted, though, and I learnt more in my short time there than I did at university, and across 5 years experience in other companies
so the answer is: come up with an idea, be expert enough to assemble and manage the perfect team and convince some rich people to lend you lots of money. simple. but be prepared. this guy was routinely doing 18 hour days, 6 days a week (he was a Christian, otherwise he'd undoubtedly be doing 8 days a week). he'd be out and about most of the day doing sales and marketing, flying around the world for meetings and stuff, then come into the office and code for 8-9 hours a night

If you can't remember your answers then if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

OT: Can I qualify for my dream job?

I just found my dream job - a part-time position that I'm
actually
(almost) qualified for, just five blocks from my home. This
is the part
of the experience section that I'm stumbling over:
· Web design experience using Photoshop, ImageReady,
Illustrator,
InDesign, Acrobat and other relevant products required.
I've used Photoshop for years - but only to create and modify
images,
not to actually use as a web design tool. People on this
forum often
talk about creating websites by "splicing" Photoshop images,
but I'm not
even sure exactly what that refers to, as I've never done it.
I've just begun learning Illustrator and have a long ways
ago. (I have
CS3 Web Design Premium, by the way.)
I've never used InDesign before, and I'm not really familiar
with
ImageReady. When I was working on my PC, Image Ready used to
open
automatically when I was performing certain operations in
Photoshop. I
thought ImageReady had been incorporated into Photoshop in
CS3. Is it
still a separate program that I need to learn?
And isn't Acrobat simply a program used to view PDF files?
What do I
need to learn about it in terms of web design?
The job application period ends two weeks from now, giving me
a little
time to take a crash course. Do you think it's possible to
get a handle
on the skills I need in that amount of time? It looks like
you can
download trial versions of InDesign and Acrobat9Pro at

Do you think the trial versions will

Using a sliced image instead of a larger image doesn't
improve speed of
loading significantly. This is one of those myths floating
around, like
frames being search-engine unfriendly.
Why not post links to some sites you have built so we can
review your skills
there?

What happens when max job limit of few RAS server is reached?

Hi, I would like to know what happens when max job limit of server is reached. I know that we need to increase the job limit but my question is a bit different.
We have 7 RAS per servers. I got this message "The maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator has been reached" on 4 RAS servers but not all 7. I am tracking servers using PIDs on WIndows server 2003.
Does this means this is a warning that Job limit of 75 (in our case) has reached for 4 servers and for remaining 3 servers its still not reached. This means 3 servers are still able to handle more report request as they have not reached their max limit.
OR
This message means all of the servers have reached to their max limit and there is no more request which can be taken.
We are doing 3000 users performance testing on 21 RAS servers.
We are on BOXI R2 SP3 on IIS and opening crystal reports using .NET SDK.

This is same as my other question so I am closing this too. We have set limit as unlimited and during peak load we had almost balanced reports on all RAS.

What SQL Server Agent jobs are currently running and for how long

Is there a way to tell what SQL Server Agent jobs are currently running and for how long? View history isn't working in my case because it's only showing completed jobs. John Schroeder

You can use the "Job Activity Monitor" for doing this. Do the following steps. It will open up the Job Activity Monitor.
1.    In Object Explorer, connect to an instance of the SQL Server Database Engine, and then expand that instance.
2.    Expand SQL Server Agent.
3.    Right-click Job Activity Monitor and click View Job Activity.
4.    In the Job Activity Monitor, you can view details about each job that is defined for this server.
In Job Activity Monitor page, we have column called Status. It will indicate whether job is executing or idle. Last Run column will give you the last invocation time of this job.

What happend to the Jobs long back

Hi Friends,
If there is a program which is runnning in background from long back on weekly or
daily basis.So if we check in SM37 with that program name ,will it show all the jobs which are
executed from long back or the recent jobs only.Because i my case i am getting the latest jobs
only.
If it shows only the recent jobs ,what about the old jobs like will those be archived
or what and who will do that?If we want see the spool of any old job ...Is it possible?

in every productive SAP-system the basis-girls/guys will see to it that several basis-tables are reorganized on a regular basis. therefore SAP has created standard-jobs which will delete:
all jobs older than a given period
all batch input recordings ...
all spool entries
etc.
in your case i would assume that the report RSBTCDEL2 is running periodically thus deleting (not archiving) all the jobs which exceed a given time. use tx. SM37C to check whether this abap is running (might be RSBTCDEL in an older release).

Hi,
There are two cases
- if you set a start time it will run at the hour and minute of the specified start date
- if start_date is left as NULL then it will run as soon as it is enabled (or at create time if enabled is true) and thereafter at the hour and minute when it was enabled.
Basically it makes the best attempt to run at the same time every day which is either the start_date or the enable time.

What's the Dream Video Editing PC?

What suggestions would readers have for building a solid video-editing PC for home use.
Where are the key bottlenecks and where should the money go. Ideally I would like to end up spending less than $1,000 US on motherboard, processor, case, memory & HDDs, the rest I have already:-
- What aspects of a motherboard would make a particular difference (bus), any specific motherboard suggestions welcome
- Is there a noticeable difference between say a Pentium 1.6Mhz and a Pentium 2.2Mhz or is money better spent on a better motherboard that can shift bits (e.g. is the processor or board typically the bottleneck. How do Athlons compare to Pentiums for video editing?
- Can twin 7,200 rpm IDEs do the job? (one to run the OS/temp directory the other for the output video files) or is an expensive SCSI disk and and card worth the outlay. Which IDE HDDs work best?
- How much memory is adequate/desirable/optimal - is DDR worth getting
- I'm assuming the video card makes zero difference, but please correct me if not the case.
Any recommendations of a motherboard/processor/memory/HDD combinations most welcome. I intend to build myself and buy a DVD burner down the line .Thanks,

Dual AMD MP 1800+ (~2x200$) - You need to be sure
your software supports dual CPUs or you will waste the 2'nd CPU.
2x512MB DDR - Registered ECC (~2x200$)
2xW.D 80GB JB (8MB) (~2x120$)
Some large MIDI tower (~50$)
Antec 430w PSU (~100$) - You need to make sure you buy a board compatible with standard ATX 12v
1420$ :(
You could scale down to a Nforce board with 1 CPU and save 400$ and non ECC/registered RAM to save about 400$.
In video rendering/compression and filter applying the CPU speed is almost liniar to the preformance meaning 10% more CPU speed is 10% less time.
he VGA cards needs no 3D capability, but should be able to handle high resolutions with high refresh rates while keeping a clear picture.
Matrox G4xx/5xx or a built by ATI card will do the job (Nothing fancy, just a Radeon 7xxx or).
Video editing needs lot's of HDD speed, so if you can afford it an IDE RAID card that supports RAID5 together with 4 W.D 80GB JB drives would be very nice, but that would cost alot (still a fraction of SCSI).
SCSI would have limited advantage over IDE RAID in your case because in terms of drive speed the W.D drives are close to the best SCSI drives. SCSI takes the lead in conditions where you access many files silmunaiosly and frequently.
VIDEO editing is a leniar proccess accessing very few very large files so SCSI has no real advantage and it costs 4 times as much if not more.

What is a "Copy Job" app?

I had a dialog box pop up asking if I wanted to run a Copy Job app script. I had a choice of Run or Quit but the Quit button wouldn't work so I force quit the app from Activity monitor. I couldn't find any app called Copy Job on my Mac. Can anyone tell me what the Copy Job app is, where it came from and why it wanted to run on my Mac?

For anyone who might have a similar problem I would like to follow up with what worked to resolve my issue. In addition to the odd dialog box I noticed that my screen saver had quit working as scheduled although it was working manually. After following the directions from Dave Nanian at Shirt Pocket all is now as it should be. SuperDuper is working with no strange dialog boxes popping up and my screensaver is also working properly.
Dave said that Copy Job is process that runs automatically and that no dialogue box should have ever appeared. He suggested that I delete my SuperDuper schedule, use Onyx or Cocktail to rebuild my Launch Services database and then use Disk Utility to repair permissions.
These directions worked perfectly except I initially tried Onyx 2.0b1 which generated the following error when I tried to rebuild the Launch Services database:
Applescript Error
Finder got an error connection is invalid (-609)
Cocktail 4.2.1 successfully rebuilt the Launch Services database with the the restore default box checked.

You know, it's really a question of the operating system your smartphone uses, and carrier availability, and not the specific handset itself. Once you have narrowed you choice to one of…
• hiptop OS
• Palm OS
• Symbian OS
• Windows Mobile
…you can then consider what your carrier offers, what other carriers offer, and what alternatives you have - using an unlocked GSM device, for example, on the T-Mobile network.
Only then can you realistically pick a smartphone.
The Palm and Symbian OS devices are supported out-of-the-box by iSync, though - in my opinion - the Palm is very poorly supported. For real support, you'll need an add-on: the Missing Sync for Palm OS. The hiptop platform used on danger devices like the SunCom hiptop 2 and the Sidekick II, also requires an add-on: the Missing Sync for hiptop. Windows Mobile devices require the addition of either the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile or PocketMac Pro or Lite.
Neither the Mark Space product - the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile - nor the Information Appliance Associates products - PocketMac Pro or PocketMac Lite - support Windows Mobile 5 devices yet.
